To be honest if you use Dianetics auditing it can be helpful. But yes you need to do it with someone you trust and that might be a difficult thing. I Think the best thing an auditor could be is a robot because as an auditor you can't show your feelings/emotions during a session so yeah a robot would be perfect i think. And it would never take advantage of you as some people claim the church does.
They aren't releasing events... they are just becoming aware of them so they can know how to further manipulate you! Also, "reliving" an event would likely STRENGTHEN it's influence on you... not release it.
At 2:47 why is there the..."5. Work with the file clerk to get the data." - I suddenly feel like going to the file clerk to get the data even though I'm at home. What is that about? Am I missing something? or is this a 'confusion technique' launched at the person watching the video? Easy to get paranoid about these things...I'm serious - can anyone explain why there is the disconnect with the narrator and what we see on the video at this point?
though traumata of clearly aetiological significance were occasionally present, the majority of them appeared very improbable. Abreaction is a psychoanalytical term for reliving an experience in order to purge it of its emotional excesses; a type of catharsis. Sometimes it is a method of becoming conscious of repressed traumatic events.
Early in his career, psychoanalyst Carl Jung expressed interest in abreaction, or what he referred to as "trauma theory", but later decided it had limitations concerning the treatment of neurosis.

This is hypnosis... why the hell did they rename it auditing? I've studied hypnosis in my free time for years, and although I don't have a clear recollection of the name of each technique (Ericksonian inductions, etc) this has all the makings of a hypnosis session.

In one paragraph: What has banking done for your family life? Is the audit paying off?
Thanks to all the recent financial news, I've noticed Scientology uses many banking terms; according to legend: the most powerful controlling force Elron ever met was the IRS; and he trained Scientologists to respond openly to bank logic. Use this fact to encourage Scientologists to answer themselves on how Scientology may misguide or even ruin their lives; use redirection to open their eyes to misdirection.
you're right auditing works great if you believe it works great, take a look at PTS types; e, f and h----the person has to already have some sort of idea that it's going to work--or else it will not. really read that and see what you see :)
They should show the part where the preclear gets convinced Scientology will give him magic powers, and all the people who mortgaged their homes to pay for their auditing, only to discover they were tricked
lol what a load of shit!!! Cultupdate you should search for "An Experimental Investigation of Hubbard's Engram Hypothesis" It was a 6 month study into the ambulance sceen basicly(whenever someones unconcious they will take in everything they hear)
You should put a link to it in your description so everyone can find out its a load of shit!!
Auditors couldnt proove it in 6 months of work. Yet they are brainwashed into believing its true!

Hypnosis works, but not in the hands of "two reasonably intelligent people". Even trained experts can fuck up.
Scientology is a dangerous scam that preys on people who want easy answers and/or are tricked easily.
