Received this ball from someone a couple weeks ago. It was always accurate and often got strange pin action but it had potential. I bowl with a fourth finger (pinky) so got that drilled today. Improved over 70 pins.
Dang, Tony! You're almost playing 4th arrow with a slingshot oob? That definitely helps explain why you guys labeled it a medium-heavy oil ball, I guess.
I have had this ball for a while and I have noticed that i still have the same revs on the ball but it isn't rolling out for me to get to the pocket. what should i do?
I currently have a storm tropical heat and find it too strong of a ball for me to pick up the 10 pin to spare. I'm a tweener and when i throw for the 10 pin I just cant get it even when I try and keep my revs down. I was looking to buy this or a tropical storm. Do you have any other suggestions on balls and what do you think would be best?
i think i'm going to get this ball, at this point i'm worried about the color... first of all, are all the colors the same, as in are there any differences in the core or coverstock? And also, which color combo was Clint using?
I'm having such a difficult time choosing between a slingshot and a damage can anyone help me? I have a plastic ball right now and I just throw the ball stright but I do want to curve and hook so I'm trying to get a new ball. Slingshot or damage?
@WalapaTH slingshot is a dry lane ball. damage works in heavy oil. if u have alot of revs with high speed use damage. if u have low revs with low speed use slingshot. i have slingshot and am getting a more aggressive hook ball because the slingshot isnt strong enough for how i wanna play the lanes. so im getting the virutal gravity nano next.
I just got this ball and had it drilled at the local pro shop. I am a beginner/intermediate bowling using a 2 finger hook. i was using a house ball and getting great action. when i switched to my slingshot it seemed to not grab at all.. could it be drilled wrong? the white stem dot is just above and between my 2 fingers. any comments will help.
@th3only0n3 it means that the person who drilled your ball didnt drill it strong because u may have told him u have 2 finger hook. which means if he drilled strong then u would over hook the ball and would be very hard to control. so in order for u to get the hook u want with this ball u must slow your speed down. for me to learn, i didnt slow my speed down i just switched to my thumb and now i know i need a more aggressive ball. also, this is a dry lane ball. which isnt made to hook in big oil
Can I just use this for a straight ball? I have no idea how to hook and I'm pretty good just doing straight bowling. I usually get 130's at the end of the game. I will someday learn how to hook though.
@OMGziTsHev This would be a great option for you then. Any ball will go straight if you throw it straight, but the Slingshot goes very long so it would make it easier to keep it on line throwing straight. It also will give you the option to learn to throw a hook in the future.
@OMGziTsHev 130's sucks. You should try hooking the ball, this way the ball will come into contact with more pins, increasing the chances of striking and bowling a better game!
@dantegimano 4th holes. if 4th hole is on the side, it is called balance hole. without balance hole, your ball will be out of control and also considered illegal in PBA if cheating. because on the side is too overweight, you need equal balance on each sides
@footballguitarist09 ahh, secret tip how to make hook... it is same handshake position. if you throw in 6 o'clock position, it will make a straight shot. if you throw in 4 or 3 o'clock position, it will make a hook shot. I suggest you to have a bowling coach first
how do you know where to get that 4th hole drilled? im looking for a new ball, and i want something thats going to hook good on pba style lanes, with my ball now, i cant get any hook, i could get hook with it on the old wood lanes, but not the new pba style lanes
@nickgt111 Not sure what you mean by 4th hole. Are you referring to a balance hole? That depends on the layout and specs of the bowling ball. Your ball driller will put one in if necessary.
As for hooking on different lanes. It may be the oil pattern as well. Wood lanes are known for making bowling balls hook more because they cause more friction. Going to different lanes will cause you to need different equipment. Match equipment and style to the lanes. Not all balls work on all lanes
@nickgt111 good question. depends on what you request. if you ask for maximum hook, you might need balance hole. I prefer minimum hook or medium hook because they don't need balance hole unless I ask for maximum hook. this slingshot is completely perfect for beginner and I have seen PBA bowler use this ball. it is really very good for you. thank for asking.
ive been bowling for less than a year now and ie had this ball for prolly 6 months and im having trouble getting speed and hook for matter.. any tips???
@ryker298 there are so many different possibilities in bowling and anything could be your problem. If you can send me a video of you bowling maybe i can help.
I bowl with a Dyno-Thane Element with 1000 grit finish, It hooks too much and I was looking for a ball with more of a curved hook instead of a snap. Is this ball something I should get?
@LbsOfTech i have this ball and if you dont want a snap then this wouldnt be the best choice. but if it helps i wanted to same thing but after buying this ball that quickly changed. its great for any type of lane and has wonderful pin carry. if this doesnt change your mind then you might want to ask your local pro shop to fit your needs. best of luck
Currently im using this ball, and im a beginer. im a lefty playing the 2 arrow and throwing it striaght than it hooks. I wanna hook like what their doing in the video where it hooks alot. Any tips?
uhm i was just wondering i just ordered this ball i am a younger teenager but i was just wondering what the generic core is because i ordered an 11(generic core) i wasnt too sure sure if this would effect my hook or curve at all or if the generic core is the same as shown in this video. if you can please get back to me my ball comes in the mail tomorrow and i hope to use it friday. so if you can get back to me between those times i would be very thankful.
@sk00lisforchumps In the lighter weight balls they have to use a smaller core in order to make the ball in the 11 pound weight. Since the coverstock determines 90% of how a ball reacts, you won't lose much performance at all. You will still be able to hook the ball well :)
@bowlingballcom Thankyou very much i got the ball in the mail today and i was very suprised in how fast it got here. well i hope to buy some more prodcuts from you in the near future and thankyou.
@sk00lisforchumps ok well if you expect to throw it like Tony, then u deserve a better ball than this one lol. Tony cocks his wrist so much that he gets an immense hook, and im surprised he gets that much with this ball
@ThetwOpaintballers Watch Talkbowling episode 25 for details. You may have to go to our site(TalkBowling), I think it was too long to post on YouTube.
I think you guys messed up just letting you know the lane condition of this ball in the video says medium to heavy oil. i thought this was supposed to be a dry lanes ball?
Clint is the owner of the lanes where the testing is done. It is good to get him involved as there are older or lower rev bowlers out there watching these videos that can't relate to higher rev bowlers. It is nice to see that no matter how straight he plays with some equipment it will still carry for him.
its good to watch shitty bowlers usin it i think that tells more than watchin someone like brian who hit his mark everyime when u see a ball that can hold pocket at 15 board and snap back from 2 board bein rolled by the same time it says good things about the ball
I kind of agree with the other comments. It's nice to see new balls and what they can do when thrown by big crankers with a huge hook. But I'm a 'down and in' bowler with a 194 average and find it hard to decide on new balls when all the videos don't show that style of bowler.
I agree completely with the guys below .. except this Fyahll idiot.... This guy might as well just throw a house ball for the style he has..
People who look at videos like these are looking to see how new balls react to similar conditions as we have, not to see low revs and ball speed seen here, Where I could put more hook on my T zone than he is using.. I am very similar stats to what Brian was, so it sucked to see him go.. Other than that.. Slingshot looks great :)
Hey bowlingballcom No disrespect to Clint but I just don't find watching him gives us viewers much perspective. In the last to videos with the break out and slingshot he played the exact same line.
