If the troops actually want to uphold our freedoms they should not only encourage dissent they should listen to the criticism and give it serious consideration.

The only criticism that the soldiers should listen to is their drill sergeant (like they have a choice or anything...) @TheMatt4019 Although the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq have been brutal the military has been operating much more carefully than it did in Vietnam. That is not because they voluntarily became more humanitarian, it is because they know there are critics who will pounce on them for any violations of the international laws on armed conflict. And as Wikileaks and other web sites get ahold of more info we will see more and more evidence of war crimes.

It's people who lobby for safety regulations. You know on your usual tool there is 1000 warning labels?thats them. Most of them conduct themselves with honor, and some may be heroes, but some of "our troops" are psychopaths who joined up so they could kill people legally. If they succeed at obeying the harsh conditions then out comes a mature human being, and that is the best its gonna get. @TheMatt4019 OK, criticizing AIG is good, but he attacks out George Soros because Soros is one of the few of the ruling elite who funds organizations that challenge the power of the elite. And the reason we don't see people dying in the street is mostly because of socialist programs put into place by FDR. Well first you don't need 1500 pages for a healthcare bill (our national government was about 4 pgs) secondly, those pages are filled with useless stuff we DONT need. third, is the price tag. lately all these bills have costed you and me trillions of dollars. @TheMatt4019 That is an interesting opinion, the problem is that the majority of the American people believe that it IS the government's job to provide a social safety net, and also every government on Earth provides some social services, except for places like Somalia. Some libertarians are proposing building floating islands where they can operate free from government. I suppose if someone is too old or poor or sick they will just throw them overboard to be eaten by sharks.

When it's election time do you do research on the people campaigning or do you just listen to all the "fluffy" (fake promises) stuff their promising? Its exactly like buying an item. If they say "God created the Earth 6000 years ago" you know that you are dealing with a religious extremist who has no understanding of science, so there is no point in wasting time in a debate. I don't know if Beck actually believes this mythology, but he has stated that he does not believe in evolution by natural selection, which is proof positive of his scientific ignorance.

I think what beck is trying to say is, is that he acknowledges evolution but would rather follow his religion's belief. I do the exact same. I learned evolution in science back in the day at a Christian school. did we disregard it calling it untrue? no; though we disagreed with it because of our religion we still credited towards science & studied it.

This is mirrored on the left by people who have demonized pesticides and can't understand the different toxicological profiles of something really poisonous like methyl bromide or something mildly toxic like Roundup. People on both the left and the right often reject the science because it does not fit their ideology.

People always try to have scientific debates on these comment pages, what you need to do is go to your local university and talk to the scientists there. Show them your graph. On the subject of the founding fathers, one of the things that really pisses me off about Beck is his ripoff of Thomas Paine's title "Common Sense". Beck is very religious, and Paine was anti-religious, Beck is anti-socialist, Paine proposed that all landowners should be required to provide a basic wage for non-landowners.  Beck is defaming the name of Thomas Paine, one of our greatest founding fathers.

His premise of the effects of Cap and Trade are incorrect; Cap and Trade already exists in the U.S. as the means for regulating many of our fisheries, and in the coal industry (to meet requirements for the Clean Air Act). Neither industry has suffered the exaggerated effects Beck describes, and fisheries using Cap and Trade have done very well. Cap and Trade is the best means regulate a resource while still allowing the free market to function under that ceiling.
