  • Ms.Raitt spent a great deal of time in N.Miss.with Fred &lots other blues artist ,some renowed ,alot of others she spent time and with are trend setters and composers ,such as she's considered.that the fact, jack,i have seen her way back in the day sorta sneakin' in out of n.ms.& w.tenn.

  • Oh YEAH!!!!!

  • What I wouldn't to be that harp play at this song's conclusion :-)

  • paying tribute to the greatest. Mississippi Fred Mcdowell

  • The ensemble makes this work especially great! Nicely balanced. I love that red-headed fox!

  • She and McDowell were buddies and even performed together. Pretty sure he wouldn't have minded.

  • @alphuez Bonnie was tutored by Mississippi Fred McDowell.

  • White baby boomer ? Get real dumb low lifes

  • This is pretty nice but the original Fred Mc Dowell is just raw pure emotion and no white baby boomer is ever going to do do justice to this song. Much as i love Bonnie Raitt.... ( and spoken as another white Baby Boomer)

  • Of course we can't stand in Bonnie's shadow, but we tried. You Tube look for: fingerpain kokomo blues

    Hope you like it.

  • I heard this on a VHS rental years ago and never forgot how much it rocks! If this doesn't get you groovin', nothing will!

  • @Kajukenbomamma I had this one on VHS too and almost wore it out playing it. I got to see her on this tour and I met her after the show I saw all because my car was parked close to her busses and I wanted to wait for the parkinglot to clear out. I took up guitar shortly after that. Still can't play slide to save my life but this song always gives me goosebumps & makes me smile.

  • ;)

  • This song is "Write Me A Few Lines", not "Kokomo Me"

  • @phjost

    Oh, sorry, it's a medley. You're right.

Or half right, to be precise. :-D

  • All Hail Miss Bonnie Raitt! :)

  • open G tuning

  • You can't fault Bonnie but if you think this is good listen to Fred McDowell.

  • what tunning is she using?

  • Bonnie doing what she does best

  • truly great

  • this is my favorite version of a couple of classics. i'm surprised there isn't more recognition for it. bonnie takes things to another level. what an all around great performer.

  • yah good luck learning to play like her haha..she was taught be the best, mississippi fred mcdowell. This is actually his song

  • I'm with you - gotta love Bonnie !!

    She's amazing !!

  • Bonnie is truly one of a kind. Perhaps the best concert I've ever been to was her show (with John Prine...WOW) at U of I Assembly Hall in Urbana, IL, in 1999. In-credible.

  • Saw her July 9, 1995 at what is now Taco Bell Arena in Boise, ID and this song had me paralyzed in awe! Even moreso than walking back toward my car and stopping cause the tour busses were in the way! Which gave me the chance to hang out and meet her and her entire band! :) Thank you Bonnie for the playing & for hanging w/ all of us! And for inspiring me to learn to play guitar! Rock On!

  • Thank you for posting this video! This is my all time favorite Bonnie Raitt song ever. Now if I can just learn to play it like her.
