many cultures use smoking in rituals. it would be wrong to tell them to give up on their tridition. so not all smoking should be banned. and the guys talking about fast food....your totaly right. its the same way where i am in new zealand. we have a large number of our population smoking, but even more eating crap food. a few years ago a macdonalds was built inside the gas station next to the christchurch jazz school where i study. not exactly brain food.

Ok, sorry, I realise a lot of people regret smoking, and have a hard time quitting. But most people know the complete facts and long-term effects about smoking (the information is available everywhere, and every single person knows smoking is harmful, even if they don't know the details). And if they still decide to smoke, you have to admit that's hardly intelligent.

my own personal experience, i'm recovering form my nicotine addiction, i've been 7 days and 7 hours without a cigarrete, gum or nicotine patch, i smoked at least 5-10 cigarretes a day for almost 14 years (im currently 27).

I have nothing of value from those years, save for a few memories that were stored by my dopamine pathways, chronic bronchitis, gum problems, and everytime i try to workout i end up begging for air... not to mention the possibility of cancers and early diabetes

Ok non-smokers, chill... When you or an ad calls a smoker stupid or inferior guess what it does? IT causes stress, the brain of a smoker gets some funky synpatic ties, that cause you talking down to make them actually want a cigarette, to activate the rewards pathway in the brain. Yep. Look it up.
