Wow Reaper that is what I feel everytime I listen to this track. I am having a son born by a woman who wants nothing to do with me, in 3 weeks. I have wrestled with doing the right thing and supporting him or doing nothing and walking away. I think you and this track have help me decide to do what is right even if I am alone in my thinking. i honestly don't think bruce will succeed in saving gotham. Look at it from a realistic view. Look at how cruel and corrupted gotham is, and to let a vigilante try and save it is asking to much of him. The city cannot be saved but controlled. Bruce said from the get go (batman begins) that he wasnt going to sit back and watch gotham get taken over by criminals, so in a sense all he's doing is trying, trying to help, but isnt sure if he will succeed. It's not about winning or losing but trying.

@27shantelle well they made him into Jesus at the end of the Dark Knight and ultimately he was supposed to unite the people from apathy agaisnt a common evil (even if he has to becomne that evil). i have no doubt he will inspire the people to save gotham in the final film and once and for all gotham will be free from corruption.

@TheUnrealStudios good point. but when i see the teaser trailer and how gordon is almost begging batman to come back and save them. as if he is god and is the only one who can save gotham. it seems like the city is completely destoryed now and everybody is looking at batman as the one who caused it. bruce says "what if he doesent exist anymore" as if he's really unsure and scared to come back. i think he feels he doesn't mean anything to gotham anymore but a symbol of violence.

When you think about it, Batman must be in a state of dreadful guilt as not only does he feel responsible for his parent's deaths but for the death's of Rachel and Harvey. If im right, the next and final film will show batman obtaining some form of closure by accomplishing, in batman's perspective, what he failed to do in the past.
