There was a supernova that affected the solar system, almost killed earth...

ended the Golden Age of Atlantis. No one knows if those asteroids are indiginous particles. There is strong proof that the asteroid belt is a remnant of an exploded planet that existed prior to 9500 - 12 000 yrs. BP. This planet was Tiamat with a small moon called Kingu. During the Atlantis cataclysm, Kingu was dragged close to earth by Phaeton, and Kingu exploded over earth.

Evidence? Point Barrow, Alaska.
