I hate the end of the fight, right before you win the boss decides to rape the living shit out of you. But now that I know that the lower your shot down percentage is the easier the boss, I'm going to suck up the entire lever just to beat it. Thanks.
Thanks a lot for this vid. I wasn't sure how to beat the boss when it goes to squish you. Gonna go try it again now. Also--I wonder if that "analyze the player" thing might simply be about how in Rez, if you do well in a level, you get a harder boss, & if you do worse, you get an easier boss.
Correct; say if you shoot down almost all enemies in the infiltration phase (high Shot Down %), you get a [Tera] level boss. This is indicated in the dialogue box (specifically 0:04 in this video, but you probably can't read it due to the iffy resolution, haha). If you shoot down a low number of enemies (low Shot Down %), you will get a [Giga] or [Mega] type boss. But yeah, 'doing well' is indicated with a high Shot Down %, so the game adapts to your % and makes it harder.
When you say the game analyzes you does that mean that your attack patterns and movements are an alyzed by the game and the game attacks based on you.
long story short, attacks based on the real person playing it and how they play? you know like the game uses AI
Actually, I'm not sure XD. I took the sentence: "this boss is a firewall that pulls the player into a twisted labyrinth to confuse the player and analyze the player easily." from Rez's website.
I would generally assume that when you're fighting the boss it would 'analyze' your moves and act accordingly (Mega, Giga, Tera forms). But those forms are actually only dependent on your shot down from the infiltration phase. -shrug-
@ddrmaxman sort of, most games have this mechanic to reduce boss fight boredom-and to avoid confusion as to glitches. but an AI unit is almost impossible in a ps2 game.
This is pretty much where I realized that Rez is one of my favorite games of all time. Watching this is cool and all, but it just makes me want to go play it again. So...think I'll go do that.

Sorry if that wasn't really helpful. X3

@ddrmaxman no, it doesnt change tactics based on the player, only by the amount of damage it has taken.
