  • If you're gonna lean back that much, you might as wel do seated rows. Way too much momentum.

  • that is terrible form.

  • what is this? seated deadlifts? ;)

  • bad execution..

  • 14 years training, natural pro, current trainer at the olympic facility @ co springs. 7 year gym owner. Pulling off your cervical spine as a power axis n point of exertion is never good, Reminds me of the guys that do good mornings with 405 and say it benifits your lower back. Its far easier to crack a vertibrae using your spine as your point of exertion. correct form does maximum damage to soft tissue while sparing the hard, prob the reason nobody does a pullup bent in a u.

  • dude why?

  • horrible form. way to build massive biceps, but never an award winning back.

  • Dude, Layne just Deadlifted 700 pounds. He's a natural pro bodybuilder. I think he has a handle on what works best for him.

  • @quamen22 He has a back that is probably 4 times the size of yours.

  • big swing

  • Awful form. Is he trying to do seated rows, or pull downs?

  • Just remember, a being's physical appearance has no relation to how much they know about the best way to train for optimal muscle hypertrophy. Don't get me wrong, Layne is awesome but don't believe everything he or anyone else states about bodybuilding and correct form just because he has his pro card...that's just ignorant. He's obviously meso and therefore any type of weight training will produce results for him.

  • He's ecto from what he's said in his past.

  • @Achillesreborn Then how are we to know what is the best way to train for optimum muscle hypertrophy?

  • If you always train with perfect form you will just hurt yourself in daily life for example when lifting heavy stuff in your house.

Natural all the way! If it's bad for his back, he will feel it.

  • There is something to be said about not sacrificing form for weight. It's ok to use a little english in your lifts, but if you watch close enough you can see his spine rounding as he squeezes his lats during his last few reps. My recommendation would be clean up your form and reduce the weight a little bit.

  • nice comment, too heavy too soon

  • Thanks, I have been training a while. I know Layne is a great bodybuilder no question about that. Some people are not able to take constructive criticism at all. Others learn from it and improve, make gains and grow.

  • haha you guy saying he has sloppy form, i'd love to see if you guys could even move the whole stack with any amount of cheating. fucking idiots.

  • sloppy form . no control ,its a back exercise not a whole upper body one

  • very true. back should be stationary and not rocking like that. good way to strain a back muscle doing that. drop weight and use better form and you'll get a better workout.

  • That's not necessarily true. Using a bit of proper cheating can help overload the muscle. It's also a more natural movement, using natural body biomechanics.

The guy is also a pro natural bodybuilder.

  • ya, i'm familiar with layne. he trains tommy jeffers who is from my area. Layne is an awsome athlete. I don't know why he's doing it this way. I guess forced reps maybe? This is definatley not the form you would want to use for a workout. I guess if it's his last set and he's cheat to get forced reps then maybe ya....but otherwise i wouldn't risk the injury.

  • @subie123 natural my ass

  • "Dude's going to hurt himself."

He already hurt life, he's going for the kill.
