  • ahahahahaha best part

    *points to trumpet snake* "WET"

  • Yeah, dumb accident, but no matter... she looks cute

  • How often am I supposed to make a big clean like this?

  • you have the same cleaning kit I do

  • always go to a professional to clean mine because if u do somthing wrong u can seriously f up ur trumpet

  • @360owner360 Good for you. :)

  • I haven't even looked at my horn in years. This video made me smile. Back in High School the horn section always bragged that trumpet players were the best kissers. :)

  • funny vid ;D

  • what are spitballs

  • @webkinzgirl9079 I'd like to know too. :(

  • @webkinzgirl9079 there these things you shove about 4 inches down ur lead pipe and then you blow throught ur mouthpiece and it comes out the bell...there suppose to reduce dirt bild up

  • lava soap? that stuff is abrasive...not the wisest thing to do

  • a lacquer cloth will clean it fine, like she did nomoreliesplease

  • I was always taught to put the trumpet in the tub with mild soap. But I've also read that you can't clean a trumpet. Oh, internet! Who knows the truth anymore?

  • Very cute video! :-) FYI, I would've also given the trumpet a bath with detergent soap to really get it clean before use. Also, regarding cleaning your mouthpiece, yes boiling it in water is very good, but also (afterwards) use a mouthpiece brush to clean out any gunk that might've accumulated. I also throw 1-2 denture cleaning tablets to disinfect it further. Interesting that you also wipe your oil on the valves. I may have to try that -- I usually just squirt it on them. Thanks.

  • CLARIFICATION: I put the mouthpiece in a tall cup filled with warm water and put the denture cleaning tablets in to get it even cleaner.

  • nomoreliesplease, you are very stupid... to put it bluntly. you can't clean a trumpet - especially this one because it has a lacquer finish - in water with detergent in it! The lacquer will come off.

  • do you know what the spitballs are for???????

  • nice video, love beauty and the beast also!

my brother recently got a trumpet and well since its used i was wondering if you knew how to disinfect/clean the mouthpiece.

    thanks :)

  • I don't actually know... but I don't think I used my trumpet without cleaning the mouthpiece when I first got it.... So, there's a way to do it, but I don't know/remember what it is. :P

  • get some water boiling, and use some tongs to put your mouthpiece in the water for a few minutes (1-2) and that should kill any bacteria in your mouthpiece

  • @sweetsue9254 SOAP AND WATER!! to be honest, be sure to rinse well, and that will disinfect the mouthpiece, the whole trumpet: i put the bell in the bathtub and the rest of the parts i hand wash, rinse everything, re apply oil and greases, and boom a clean trumpet :D

  • my trumpet has been cleaned thouroghly a couple of times but one of my valves keep stuttering or delay in coming up. How do I fix that?

  • take the valve out and look at it. If it is scratched then there is your problem. Best take it to a shop and let them deal with it.

And Spitballs suck. They only get stuck in your trumpet. They're just a way for music shops to make a quick buck.

  • that was for haveaniceday

  • use some thing called lava soap

Dampen the bar and rub your hand then rub the valve with it then bang the valves for a few minutes and finally clean it out

    do this every 6 months

  • Haha, nice vid. Now play us a song :D

I've cleaned my trumpet too a couple of weeks ago, the tone is so much better if you clean it every now and then.

  • lol funny

  • Nice video, and funny too xD

  • Great video and lip sync'n. Didn't realize I did not have to submerge my horn.

  • It's more thourough to submerge but you don't have to.

  • Okay, I lol'd pretty hard when the Gaston bit started playing.

I really should clean my trumpet. I'll be lucky if the valves and slides move when I try.

  • If the horn is lacquer finish on the brass, you should never polish it or you will strip the lacquer and the brass will then tarnish. Just wipe it clean after you give it the bath as she did. Polish only a silver finish.

  • Gaston!

  • nice video and so funny. i'm a bigginer without teacher. i didn't know who to clean my trumpet... thanks!!!(my english are bad too)

  • I need a "Bra" for my trumpet

  • jajaja cool. good video. you love ur trumpet like me. i love the final jajajaja

  • can you clean my trumpet lol jk maybe you can get it sparkling

  • wowser bowser those are a lot of steps for cleaning a trumpet. maybe thats why i can't play an instrument LMAO

    anyways, check our vids out

    xoxo, alex and eleanor

  • Mmmm... Spitballs are win.

    Shouldn't get stuck though.

  • I thought I asked you to PLAY this Trumpet not clean it! Come on lets hear you play it.

  • i had no idea what was oing on but i couldnt look away O_o

  • Nothing short of AWESOME!!

  • Nawti Nawti xD (za bra i mean, hehe)

  • Very entertaining, Stars. However, I wish you'd slowed down just a hair so I could watch better. Hey, what about the mouthpiece? Lotta gunk in there, too. You shoulda mimicked Ziggy Elman's solo on Sing, Sing, Sing. Hope the horn sounded better after. Great job overall!

  • Haha the ending was a real funny twist:) I enjoyed watching every second - Nice 1!:)

  • haha awesome! good choice of music as well! we actually played sing sing sing in our jazz band, and it was amazingly awesome! i remember playing all of this, and i was fingering along with the music haha!

  • Thanks, I was wondering how I could make it look better. It still seemed a bit grody.

  • i have the same valve oil...^^

  • I've been playing the trumpet for 6 years :D this vids well good lol, what song is it?

  • It's in the info.

  • wow brilliant... bookmarked thx

  • Why not show cleaning in normal speed and after play something? My 9yr old Daughter plays Trumpet but I go to clean it for her! thats what Daddy's are for.

  • Normal speed would cause a video that would last longer than people's attention spans would. I recorded myself playing the trumpet, but the sound didn't work out. I'd have to figure out a way to make it work, but you weren't missing anything. :P

That's great that your daughter plays. How long has she done it for?

  • nearly 2 years now

  • Awesome. :)

  • BTW did you see my youtube video on cleaning? have a look. Paris Roubaix 1976 Would like to hear you play that Trumpet.

    My Daughter likes Rick Braun.

  • I play the clarinet so a big fan of Benny Goodman :-)

  • Wow, I was actually board enough to watch this movie all the way through... I am ashamed of myself to admit that I kinda liked it... lol

  • Haha, this is my favorite comment.

  • me to haha

  • Jajaja very good

  • cool!
