  • meraviglosa , grande e indimenticabile un artista a 5 stelle , complimenti un meritato omaggio alla bravura e alla bellezza , ciao anna,.

  • In my opinion, Alida Valli and Hedy Lamarr's astonishing, supreme beauty highly evidences the existence of God.

  • WONDERFUL

  • Oh, what a glorious tribute to a truly marvelous actress! Thanks for sharing this.

  • Lei è splendida come sempre,la musica è meravigliosa come s'intitola?

  • In the 40-50s all the italian women wanted be Alida Valli.

  • GREAT ACTRESS AND A REAL BEAUTY

  • She was gorgeous in Senso.

  • Telefoni bianchi? Ma lei era di più una Dea!

  • Alida Valli sure had loads of charisma, who can forget the church-yard scene in "The Third Man", best film ever!

  • She was born in Pula (Croatia) and today the main cinema is named after her !

  • Bellissimo video. Alida incarna quella bellezza sofisticata ed espressiva. Il tutto in un contesto raffinato e con bel sottofondo. Grazie!

  • l wonder why we haven´t heard of her as much...hmm. She´s beauiful all around.

  • Splendida Alida Valli!!!! Un bel tributo ad una grandissima attrice!!!!

  • never heard of her... beauty !!!

  • Fantastic video !

    Thank you very much!!

  • She was sooo pretty. She had the perfect face. Her cheekbones were nice and high, her eyes were sexy and seductive, and her lips were just right. BELLA BELLA!!

  • Beautifully put together photos and music of a true star, from a time that has imortalised her for ever, thank you.

  • Alida Valli had an outstanding career.

From the classic Anna Schmidt to Miss. Tanner - and everything in between.

Alida Valli was indeed a Movie Legend! :) ...beautiful!

  • Thank you, basilnelson - this is so .. beautiful...

For those who may be interested, "We The Living" starring Alida Valli is now out on DVD - this movie was almost "lost" because of how Italian government authorities during Mussolini's time tried to destroy it... its a rare copy thats now on DVD

  • 'Miracle of the Bells' w/ Fred MacMurray

was the only film I saw her in. That was as a teenager. It was a movie my mother searched for on video for years. Finally it

came on the Late, Late Show (remember those?) and she got me up to watch it.

Never forgot Valli's Joan of Arc. More than

conventionally pretty, but like Ingrid Bergman---you're just not looking at anyone else when they are onscreen.

  • An excellent photo-video very elegant and very refined that gets married very well with the refined beauty and great talent of Alida Valli, my preferred actress of any time. I also saw for the first time many photos I didn't know. The music is perfect too ! Thank you very much dear basilnelson !!

  • Beautiful video. Very special, like Alida Valli, uno of my favorite actress in the world.

Can you tell me the title of this music. Is so lovely. Thanks for all.

  • Thank you. The title of the music is 'Midnight Rhapsody'. Glad you enjoyed the tribute.

  • @basilnelson

    @basilnelson

No Basil, it is not "Midnight Rhapsody" by William Goldstein, it is something else; please remember what it is!

My congratulations for your wonderful 'Movie Legends'!

  • @mariadelamor21 Her real name was Alida Maria Altenburger, baroness of Marckenstein and Frauenberg. She came from an aristocratical austro-hungarian family.

  • I have heard of her but have not seen any of her work. She has very memorizing eyes! From the looks of the tribute, it seems she had many interesting roles.

  • So beautiful!!

  • thanks basilnelson! your channel is always something to look forward to... thanks so much for posting!

  • MERAVIGLIOSO

  • Alida Valli was not so well known? but surely from the photo frames I just saw I saw and felt Stardum* Wonderful images of this woman. Yes she had that certain something that crys out to be discovered.

Thanks to Baz she was discovered again and brought back to life with proffessional care and love.

    Thankyou Baz

    Pierre

  • Alida ('Bird in Flight' Maria Laura von Altenburger). Sublime tribute in a well-researched pictorial (3:39) against a backdrop of memorable performances (Hitchcock's 'The Paradine Case,' with Gregory Peck; Carol Reed's 'The Third Man' with Joseph Cotten and Trevor Howard; or with Farley Granger in Luchino Visconti's 'Senso') and a remarkable score.
