She was sooo pretty. She had the perfect face. Her cheekbones were nice and high, her eyes were sexy and seductive, and her lips were just right. BELLA BELLA!!
Thank you, basilnelson - this is so .. beautiful...
For those who may be interested, "We The Living" starring Alida Valli is now out on DVD - this movie was almost "lost" because of how Italian government authorities during Mussolini's time tried to destroy it... its a rare copy thats now on DVD
An excellent photo-video very elegant and very refined that gets married very well with the refined beauty and great talent of Alida Valli, my preferred actress of any time. I also saw for the first time many photos I didn't know. The music is perfect too ! Thank you very much dear basilnelson !!
@mariadelamor21 Her real name was Alida Maria Altenburger, baroness of Marckenstein and Frauenberg. She came from an aristocratical austro-hungarian family.
I have heard of her but have not seen any of her work. She has very memorizing eyes! From the looks of the tribute, it seems she had many interesting roles.
Alida Valli was not so well known? but surely from the photo frames I just saw I saw and felt Stardum* Wonderful images of this woman. Yes she had that certain something that crys out to be discovered.
Thanks to Baz she was discovered again and brought back to life with proffessional care and love.
Alida ('Bird in Flight' Maria Laura von Altenburger). Sublime tribute in a well-researched pictorial (3:39) against a backdrop of memorable performances (Hitchcock's 'The Paradine Case,' with Gregory Peck; Carol Reed's 'The Third Man' with Joseph Cotten and Trevor Howard; or with Farley Granger in Luchino Visconti's 'Senso') and a remarkable score.
meraviglosa , grande e indimenticabile un artista a 5 stelle , complimenti un meritato omaggio alla bravura e alla bellezza , ciao anna,.

In my opinion, Alida Valli and Hedy Lamarr's astonishing, supreme beauty highly evidences the existence of God.

'Miracle of the Bells' w/ Fred MacMurray
was the only film I saw her in. That was as a teenager. It was a movie my mother searched for on video for years. Finally it
came on the Late, Late Show (remember those?) and she got me up to watch it.
Never forgot Valli's Joan of Arc. More than
conventionally pretty, but like Ingrid Bergman---you're just not looking at anyone else when they are onscreen.

@basilnelson
No Basil, it is not "Midnight Rhapsody" by William Goldstein, it is something else; please remember what it is!
My congratulations for your wonderful 'Movie Legends'!
