We currently use under 20 terrawats a year globally, but we can harnass 400 terrawatts of Energy just from the Tidal currents in the Ocean?, if this is true why are the Governments of the world not pouring Trillions into harnasing Tidal Energy?.
how much will this affect marine life, current patterns, of sea inviorment? that would be one downfall but this sounds insanely awesomely helping us save energy
Wonderful notion. I like the Voith wave power ideas better, but this would avoid the rich coastal landowner complaints, invisible and silent. Want would be the minimum functional deepth?
It doesn't matter if there is a lot of remaining oil or not. It is important for devloped and developing nations to find local renewable power sources.
By the way, we are merely "lucky" enough to be alive to witness the end of an ice age. The earths climate change has nothing to do with man. The earth will freeze over again, in a few millenia.
@ragingtorpedos The earths axis is shifting, therefore creating a change of climates for all regions. Stop being an idiot, read some books, and realize that oil companies are profiting from the misinformation that isn't enough oil. Alternative energy is smart and should've happened awhile ago, but plz - humans aren't causing global warming, we'd need to have 10 times as much population to achieve even a fraction of that.
I personaly belive in global warming but i dont see it as a big problem. I think the problem is OIL the world will run out anytime from now to 25 years . we can replace oil with recycling plastics electric cars and algee oil if we can devote the effort in that amount of time
@ragingtorpedos Not at all, since basically most of South America and Africa haven't yet been exploited for their natural gas and crude oil. Your facts are from conventional sources, that's why you're saying what you are. There's more than enough oil, they just like the prices high, and would like to see them go higher.
