Okay i've been there 2 months ago i was take one photo and one guard he said to me " Turn off the camera it's forbidden " i ignore him and i was take another shot and he said to me with bad way "it's the second time who i warn you , do you wanna pay tax?" after that i was close the camera and respect him.After a couple hour and deeply disappointed i was leaving...

I went there in 2007 it was almost empty i took like 2 pictures with no flash and got asked to turn it off by the guards.

@thekit74 Yea it's in Vatican City to be precise. There's an entry through galleries at the Museo Vaticani...quite a sight indeed.
