Fantastic video promo. Ignore the haters mate. Who cares if you used some video copilot stuff. Big deal. I agree that if the clients happy with your work then that's job well done. After all, they are the ones paying you not some guy complaining on you tube, who to be honest obviously follows VCP and has used their tuts many times. Excellent colour grading, great editing, good use of music and the optical flares. Keep it up.

Nice use of the plug-insI I agree with deadbackman about the whole knock off theory. Your right, everything now days is a rebirth of someone else's idea. Asking to come up with a truly original idea in this day and age is like asking to invent a color for Crayola. There are about fifty crayons that are the same but w/ just different names to them. :)

Keep up the good work. I like it a lot. Everyone who said it is a Andrew Kramer knock off is people who are into after effects and been to his web site. Know one I know ever heard of Video Copilot so most clients will not see it as a knock off. Although I do my best to come up with my own stuff but sometimes when just starting out in motion graphics we copy what we see.

too many vcp effects. even the font dude. just make sure your not a cheap knock off like all the rest.

I do what the clients ask.... Give them what they pay me for.... Every project is planned out and designed to their liking.

@deadbackman just saying dude. im sure your "clients" aren't in on the video effects scene. but if someone can spot something specific out of a video directly from video copilot, then its a knock off, and when you get to bigger and better projects, you just can't use these same techniques. Its gotta be original and thought from your own mind. andrews tutorials are great for practice, but just make sure you make your own trademark and standard. not trying to knock you down or anything. good luck.

every-thing's a knock off. there's hasn't been a single original idea made in years..... The Departed was a remake. AVATAR is pretty much just like Dances With Wolves, even the Dark Knight was inspired by HEAT. It's okay to recreate, just not do it continuously. My client asked for this look in PARTICULAR. I'm not being mean btw, just clarifying. I understand giving constructive criticism, but referring me to a 'cheap knock off' can seem a little rude. Just so u kno.

@deadbackman I don't really care if it's a VC ripoff or not - not a single person I know has ever been to Video Copilot website. Great looking video with cinematic quality and colour.Can I ask how you make flares disappear behind a subject when it obstructs a light source? My knowledge of this plugin is very limited even after watching tutorials on VC site tracking lights is simple but I haven no freaking idea how to make them go BEHIND someone in 2D video as skillfully done in your video.

pretty cool :) but the optical flares are used way to much in my opinion. reminds me a 50cent videoclip lighting setup. Other than that it looks pretty cool :) congrats. nice cam btw ;D
