@adrimare1 Odo was designated umpire because of his reputation for being impartial, precisly why the Bajorans and the Cardassians relyed on him for security during the occupation, both sides (occupation and here) know that he will treat everyone fairly.

I *love* this episode! :) Voyager is my favorite of the Star Treks, but I really do like the characters in DS( - and this episode is so much fun. :)
