Yeah, I'm sure she's never taken a sword class considering she's, i don't know, a world champion with it. I'm sure you're right though, she has no idea what she's doing.
actually she does study sword. and she did learn in a Japanese style of martial arts. I actually know her and have seen her forms personally and have talked to her. she knows all the things you are saying and she practices correctly too. when you are going that speed and music and nerves and sometimes you slip or your grip isn't perfect, but im sure you are aware that since you train yourself.
Glad you like the form and style. I trained her before I moved. She does practice correctly and has been studying for a very long time. When you are not being guided by your sensei, it is hard to train on your own when their is no constructive critism from someone who is mature in knowledge w/ the weapon of choice...Good thing I am training & teaching again!
Looks fancy I guess, but it kinda proves she has never taken a sword class, as she is holding the sword wrong, her hands are a little too close together, as in Kenjitsu you have the bottom one further down to use for leverage. Yes I understand its for show, but if they were going for form you would think she would have studied some of the ways to grip the sword and the various attack angles
