the book is actually worth reading, even though the movie just about follows it perfectly... SPOILER ... i don't fully understand the ending but i think the essentially retires as he does not like seeing the new breed of criminal
i loved it, because i heard many people in theater yell out "well that sucked!" i LOVED IT. it makes me realize HOW MUCH i appreciate movie-making...and how simple endings like that are HUGE ENDINGS...
every second of the movie is important...YES EVERY SINGLE STEP Moss made walking thru the desert was even important to me.
mhaze210: I thought this was absolutely one of the most interesting films I've seen in a long time. But, you know, there has been a lot of misunderstanding about this film. I think this story of fate was just too simple for some people. You can't please everyone.
I agree splivey...what amazes me about the film is the dislike by some viewers who criticize the lack of closure or the ambiguity. I for one appreciate good writing where the "ending" is not the goal of the story.
It's easy to understand why Llwellyn took the money, But his decision to express compassion for the dying Mexican and return with the water was an extremely dumb one.
But, its important to note that his morals also kept him alive a little longer. He wouldn't have known about the tracker in the bag had he not gone back to the crime scene and been caught by the Mexicans. He would have been sitting calmly in his trailer, unaware that people were closing in on him.
You are such a talented editor! I want to have the skills to pay the bills like you when I grow up! Big kisses!

It was a good azz movie. The plot was simple to follow. NCFOM had one of the best bad guys in a movie in a while. I'll give it a 4 out of 5.

True. If he didn't care about the Mexican he wouldve been in the clear. His morals got him in this situation. Deep man...
