Kate, I learned stick the second time I drove it. I totally sucked SO bad the first time, but after I bought my car (a stick) it only took me about 3 days to get it down pat. Just rev to 2k rpm and let off the clutch slowly. Sure you burn the clutch, but once you're used to that, work on letting off the clutch and pressing the gas at the same time. I've had my car 2 weeks and I already drive like a pro :)

Be cautious with inconveniently timed street lights
