  • This is an great movie, very good depiction of the 16 century era, if you look at Vemeers paintings you will see the movie captured the look of the era from Vemeers actual paintings. It is said Vemeer only produced 35 paintings, Van Ruijven his main client owned 21 of them.

  • Wow, wtf was that at the end. You vandalized your own work, LOL. Good work tho not exactly as the original but who cares, you have talent.

  • wow!

    she is better without a make-up! ;)

  • Niceee

  • wow. amazing!

  • wow. I am amazed. That was wonderful!! I couldn't keep my eyes off of the video. Your very good at this. Keep it up :)

  • I haven't heard anyone bashing the Mona Lisa with mustache.

  • What song is this?

  • Ghostwriter by RJD2

  • that was frickin awesome

  • very very interesting

  • Sorprendente!!

Fantásticas combinaciones y variaciones de color y luz ...realmente muy bien logrado.

    Alex

  • she wound up looking like a gypsy.

  • Vermeer was about innocence and and stillness. As a Dutchman I find this inappropriate and rather tasteless. Laat het met rust lul.

  • Guys!! Read the info at the top, it says

"What would a Vermeer painting be today?"

He meant to make her look a bit hooker-ish

  • That's awesome!

  • That was awesome, up until the very end when you added all the makeup and made her look less natural and kind of cheap. Nice skills though!

  • i like this... :)

  • I think it was interesting.

So what if it was different? I liked it.

Lets see someone else try it. ^_^ Bet it's harder than it looks.

  • This is horrible, no really... this sucks

  • That's so good.. :> You're good!

  • as to this video, you made a young girl of 15 look in their late twenties you should have made your own portraiture instead of copying a famous work of art by vermeer

  • amateurish

  • thats why asian people will never understand Art as an european invention

  • what?

  • that is what I exactly meant, or do you think you know what this picture is about?

  • no, i do not claim to understand the original vermeer painting. but who does? however i can appreciate it as a baroque masterpiece based on its expert oil painting techniques and dramatic play of lighting. but do please enlighten me on why asian people specifically cannot understand art, and why art is in fact an european invention.

  • chinese had famous artist such as Lau Tzu known long before the birth of Jesus Christ and western civilization, i never heard europeans claiming art as their invention

  • bullshit bullshit bullshit

  • Cave men invented art, Duh!

  • you messed with an artist work thats so wrong

  • that was sooooooo good!!!....until the end.

  • holy shyt.. that is so awsome!

  • What is that song? Good job!

  • bella cagata!

  • Great job. That looks really hard, How long did it take you?

It's kinda weird how you added the makeup though!! :)

  • Well, it depends on who you like as an artist :P

If you really want to have a "fun" time, try drawing the The Birth of Venus By Botticelli. Im sure that may take a little skill, but you have it. :)

  • cool!

  • I agree, what was i thinking? the shamelessness

  • It was astoundingly cool until that weird makeup was added... oh, and the shameless plug. On her forehead. :)

  • Read the book 6 times.

    Watched the movie 400 times.

Admires the artwork every chance I get.

    This is absolutely beautiful.

  • Really, u watched the movie 400 times, how can u watch a movie 400 times?

If u really did u must have a lot of spare time and a tally to keep count.

  • Actually, it mustve been more than 400. I watch the movie everynight. D:

Ever since it came out... u.u

  • Imagine you put all that time to... learning to juggle. You'd be one mighty fine juggler

  • Lmfao!

I would be. I think Id be in the World records for the best juggler.

I think you should draw more of these. Not only girl with a pearl earring obviously, but other paintings. :)

I bet you took all the time I wasted watching that movie, into practicing drawing. D:

  • any suggestions? I haven't made a video in so long. there's no time with school.

I need to visit the AGO for inspiration

  • pretty amazing u can do this

  • I REALLY wish you had panned back to get a look at the girl before you put all that makeup on her!

    The music worked perfectly.

Oh, and you've got an amazing skill. That too.

  • Replying to my own post:

This has always been my favorite piece of Vermeer's, before and after the book "Girl With A Pearl Earring".
