I think it's pretty funny how you ATGATT guys make those snap judgements from one ride, one day, from whenever that was. If it makes you feel any better, I'm usually ATGATT all the way.
Beauty Bike. It seems lower profile than a typical t100. Did you take the mirrors off completely or are they under-mounted. And, did you modify the handlebars?
@FA5Si Thanks. The helmet is by Fulmer and the model name is V2. It's really comfortable too. You might want to try one on, I think the sizing can be a little off. IIRC, I bought a size one size bigger than I normally get and it fit well.
@atreewithnolife awesome, thanks mate! I haven't learnt how to ride yet, but this is the bike I eventually want. I'm 6 foot 7, if it fits you alright, I'm sure a few inches wont make too much difference
Hi Duane, few questions I want to ask - how do you find the handling with that 19 inch front wheel? How often do you have to adjust the chain (I assume your bike, being a big twin, gives it a real workout) - and I'm guessing with the spoked wheels, your bike has tubes in the tyres, so have you ever had a tyre blowout? Sorry, lots of questions I know :o) Thanks, E.
@sooupdragon I find the handling to be pretty good, but I've never owned a sport bike. My DR650 feels more sporty in the twisties than the Bonneville. It seems like I adjust the chain every three months , sometimes more often, sometimes less. I noticed that when I keep it lubed it resists stretching pretty well. Never had a blowout, but I did pick up a nail one time on the freeway, the tire went flat but stayed on the rim. I replaced the tube and was good to go.
Hi mate! I am planning to purchase a bonneville as well and I wanted to know how tall are you? I am about 6 feet tall and I might be to big for the bike.
@brucedesch I get that question a lot. I went ahead and wrote a full list of all the mods in the info of my Triumph Bonneville Modifications Complete vid. Check it out. Cheers.

Hi mate! I am planning to pruchase a bonneville as well and I wanted to know how tal are you? I am about 6 feet tall and I might be to big for the bike.
@roadrash998 I'm not that hardcore. I wear blue jeans, a half shell, ain't got no body armor, wouldn't wear it if I did. I ride 1991 GL 1500 Goldwing. I have a full face I bought for another bike, too hot on the wing. I always wear gloves and heavy shoes though.
@clintonearlwalker I used to be a lot like you. In the last year I've taken to wearing all the gear, most of the time. Sometimes I still throw on the jeans and the open-face but usually that's not enough protection to satisfy me. This could be because I had an accident earlier this year in which my fullface saved my head and I didn't get any roadrash cuz of my gear.
@roadrash998 I've been lucky, I've never wrecked on the road. I hit a kid on ct 70 one time, I was on a GS 550 going about 50 on a dirt road. Shorts, t-shirt, no helmet or gloves. I tore a chunk of skin off my thigh about the size of 3 playing cards, I still remember those 4 big pipes up over my face. They didn't hit me though. I always wear gloves cuz when u used to wreck as kids in the dirt our hands alway got tore up. My biggest problem now is deer. I never ride crazy 80 mph is the limit
i have the exact same bike and i want to get those folding bar end mirrors from Bikemaster and i still have the stock bar on will i need an adapter screw to install those mirrors? your reply would be appreciated thanks mate!
@v1deov1deo , thanks for the compliments. I would like to post some more vids but my computer can't or won't run my moviemaker program anymore.
I don't know anything about the Bikemaster mirrors. I know that to install these mirrors I ended up drilling the plug out of my stock bars. So i guess you'll have to do that or find some mirrors that will use the little Triumph screw. I know that my mirrors were supposed to fit around the bars but they wouldn't.
I saw a guy on youtube wheelying a Thruxton once. But i have never even felt mine get light at the front, I think the bike is too heavy/HP is too small.
Kin ace fella, I hope I look as cool on mine. I've worked at the Triumph factory in Hinkley and they realy are a stunning piece of kit, thats why I had to buy one
Great Bonnie! I'm interested in buying the Thruxton. What's the difference between buying a Thruxton and buying a Bonnie that's been modded to a cafe racer? Thanks.
Depends on how much it's been modded. A Thrux has a better cam that gives it slightly more horsepower and I believe they also have lighter wheels. Most thruxs already have clipons too, unless you get an 09 and up.
I would say so, assuming that the modded bonnie didn't have clip ons. I believe that the Thruxton rearsets are actually a little lower than most rearsets sold for bonnies.
It's a Dnepr with a Ural motor. The gearbox flanges are the same for both motors, so you can swop the engines, though the airbox plumbing needed a fair bit of messing around to get it to work. It took a long time to find an air leak, and the left plug was deathly white for a while until we found it.
I know the bike well, Troya...I used to work in Magadan and Providenya, Siberia...where it is usually ochee holadna !! I got to ride a couple of these and also in the sidecar. These bikes are everywhere in Siberia!!

Yeah, Come on spring! I just bought some real motorcycle boots with ankle protection so I guess no more converse. I'm starting to get old and nervous after 14 years and a couple hundred thousand miles. As for the length of the vid...it is called short and sweet!

Roadrash,
Here it's Saturday morning, and raining like crazy.
Somewhere in Arkansas, and American biker has the sun out, and a Bonneville, in black.
When it's raining, I have to settle for an old Russky sidecar.
I like the Union flag on the side of your crash helmet.
Hey, wear some summer gloves.
Best wishes.
