I understand the urge to go around gates cz I'm a cyclist in a metropolitan area. Its very tempting to save 3 minutes by ducking the gate but Ive fallen on tracks before while riding and a train was coming on the other track but it was scary. Most people just dont realize the fear you and the engineer feel when you get close to that train. Theres no way to stop them really until they have that expeirence

Dude you should see the video I took in Encinitas. The Amtrak 577 gave us a shave and a haircut and, right as it was going through the second grade crossing, some idiots ran in front of the train.

I saw the video, and those idiots were so STUPID! Had they been hit, they would have died because the Surfliner was going 90 mph. The BNSF train was going like 45 MPH. Why can't everyone just wait for the train.
