I did it in Miramichi N.B but i moved to Fredericton and no one does it here. If i had a plow on my truck i would make a track people would take interest!
WE were doing this in Greenwood. but mainly now they do it up in Black river. which is above wolfville. there is alot of bikes up there more soo then wheelers. i usto do this havnt in about 2 years. i am the one on the Raptor
some people i ice race with will use sheet metal screws, anywhere from 3/8th 1/2 or 5/8, i have 1,200 V-Cut Pro Gold 5/8 studs in mine, i bought mine at a honda dealer where i live and it was $56 per 1,000, i buy 2,000 because i lose about 25-100 in the rear tires per race so after every race i fill in the missing so im ready for the next weekend
i dont see any studs at all in them but maybe they are just hard to see but on mine you can see all 1200 when im goin by the camera when we tape and its wierd that none of them are lowered for ice racing, i ice race my 2008 LTR 450 special edition and i lower it so its only 3 inches off the ground and u gain 2 inches width in front then flip my rears so valve stems are IN to get the ass end 4 inches narrower so u have better rear end tracking to follow the front very quick
im a ice racing in northern minnesota and i run 1200-1500 studs in my tires including the front, u need quite a few in the front or you cant turn cuz its hard to break the rear tires on a straight axle with that much traction
Yeah, lol, I was actually there for this, doing some of the videoing for it, xD It's pretty decent really, It's down between Kingston and Greenwood, in Nova Scotia.. that and Theres a motocross track in Kingston off the #1 highway there.. pretty decent
hey iam down in wilmot ive seen this around u know if they will let the 4x4 wheelers on there? me and my frined wouldnt mind trying this out this winter
I used to race 3 wheelers on ice on Moncton, NB in the 80's this brings back memories, thanks for posting.

im looking into ice racing. can you just use 3/8th self taping screws or do you have to buy the special kind?
burgerking325 2 years ago
@burgerking325, they do sell special ones i would recommend them (i don't ice race) but i know they sell them at Royal Distributing.
