  • NVIDIA vs ATI? Neither "wins", its a matter of personal preference. The hardware they make is pretty much the same, it does the same thing. They are both excellent in that respect. What does it for me though is the quality of drivers. I have found NVIDIA to be better at making drivers... but that is my preference.

  • Whats the difference between the Ti and the non Ti?

  • what about the Asus GeForce GTX 560 Ti DCII 1024 MB? is this the perfect card for a price about €200?

  • NVIDIA vs ATI.... who wins?

  • I just got an i5 2500K and a Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti Fermi. How would you guess this can play BF3? Serious question :D

  • @ampeddd It will run great. Probs 30 - 40 fps on ultra

  • hi guys ! what gpu should i buy ? 560ti,6950 or anycard under 350$

  • @Zhendor 560 or 570

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms ok man :) thx

  • Bro I hope you realize how big a deal Nvidia is making about the cooler. It's actually very, very good, I own one of these. The face of the card dips in, as you know, and so the fan protrudes above, this helps tremendously in creative vaccum.

I must say, a Vapor chamber would have been uncessessary, both in size and cost. It runs absolutley cool, especially if you manually run the fan up a tad to about 75%. For me playing Crysis 2 maxed with the DX11 and Hires pack, temps never go above 72*c.

  • How many of Q6600 @2.40Ghz bottleneck a MSI GTX 560 TI Twin FROZR HAWK?

  • @DanFSD I don't think it will bottleneck it, even if it did, it wouldn't be too much. Although those Intel's still used the very ancient front side bus, so long as you're running quick memory you should be okay. Also that Cpu should OC very nicely at 45nm. Peace

  • hi timetolivecustoms! i have an msin560 ti GTX twin frozr II oc and my load temps are 70C whereas other people are getting around 60C... is this normal or are there any defects? airflow in my case is good and room temp is around 23C. thanks!

  • got the gigabyte 560ti a couple of weeks ago and I'm very happy with it.

  • i have watched quit a few of ur vids, a bit long for my likes, but it great how u actually respond to comments, help the community, it really makes it more interesting

  • @orm0003 I need to make them long to cover everything dude. Its just my style. And I do try to help people as much as possible, I cant always answer everything though :/

  • What's green and gets me high ? nVidia :P!!

  • Hi there,

I love your vids and I was wondering: I am in to flight simulation and have around £200 to spend on a new graphics card as my ATI HD5770 is rather rubbish. I Have an i7 950 and Asus Saber-tooth with a 750W PSU. I was considering th GTX 560 TI, or would a card from the HD 6XXX series be better, any advice or your personal favorite in this price range?

    Thanks

    John

  • got my cup of tea

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Hey, I want to buy a Graphics card for around £200, What version of the GTX560 Do you recommend (Asus, Msi, Zotac, Etc..) ?

    Much Appreciated ^_^

  • @02nlewis gtx560 or gtx560ti? if i were you, id go for the MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II, thats what i want to buy as well. :D the asus DCII version is stupid and way too loud

  • need a good overclocking tool that allows voltage tweaking because after burner has its limits. please respond to ALL. sorta need by many. :D

  • he looks sleepy ..

  • im not one who usually comments but i want to genuinely thank you for this review, it helped me so much when i was building my new rig, once again thanks and keep the videos coming!

  • I have up to 1,000 quid to spend on a graphics setup. I am thinking of going for 2 580's. What would you recommend? I want them to be quiet too.

  • @Jonathann1818 2x 580's for that money dude

  • @Jonathann1818 Two EVGA Liquid cooled 580s.

  • Well, with Nvidia's latest cards, including their lower end cards (560 & 570), I think it's safe to say that Nvidia is on top. This is probably the card of my choosing for Nvidia.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms, ok thanks what models should I get, preferably pre overclocked as I don't have the time to do that. :)

  • *vid

  • @TTL, great bid as always I have £500 to spend on a GPU what one would you recommend?. :)

  • @TheChrismac88 you can easily get 2x 570's for that money!

  • please review the 6950 Twin FrozR II 2048MB a.s.a.p as it might change the part of the market now.

  • Hey mate, thanks for the review.

I have a question, the Zotac GTX 480 is for around £200 on amazon with lifetime warranty on amazon.

Would you recommended this or the 480, maybe even the 6950 2GB?

A lot of the benchmarks I saw make the 6950 make 560 neck and neck.

  • @Rprihradsky 560 or 570 any day dude, much easier to live with than the other two leaf blowers.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms

Thanks, If I was to OC the 560 to 1GHz, how would it compare to stock 570 or maybe even 580?

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms

Which one would you prefer in terms of raw performance?

I don't mind heat or noise.

  • @Rprihradsky Get the Gigabyte 560 SOC thats plug and play 1GHZ and is roughly the same as a stock 570. Nvid is the best mix of power and usability imho atm.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms

Thanks mate, 560ti it is then.

I dont mind overclocking the card myself.

Which brand should I go for?

I heard good things about the msi twin froz, or maybe the zotac amp edition?

  • Love tom.

  • I'm getting this with a 2500k

    i cant wait :D

  • Will a Q8200@2.33ghz bottleneck this?@1280x1024 btw

  • @puathunder A bit yeh. I had a q8400@t 3.2GHh it was a bottle neck. I got a Q9650 @ 4.1GHz much less of a bottleneck especially at High resolution. 1280x1024 is like a 19' 20' Resolution Not very high. You'll see a significant bottleneck.

  • this pcb looks similar to the 8800 gt/9800 gt

  • I am very surprised with this card

I am reconsidering going with the green team again

  • Lord why did I buy a 6870!

  • I have a 2500k @ 4.6 Ghz, with a GTX 260, I have about $270 to spend.

    Should I buy a GTX 560TI?

  • @brandonspikes either the 560 or 570 what ever you can get for your $ Im not sure on pices in $'s tbh

  • Don't buy reference cards. Check out the MSI & Gigabyte versions of this card and you'll see what I mean.

Also, seeing a lil nvidia vs ati action going on.... nvidia All The Way ^^ - This is coming from someone who's been using ati all his life and only just switched over to nvidia's 560 ti.

  • Hey tom are u gonna test 560 in sli to?

  • Cool vid nice card love that cooler design looks effective.

  • Anyone know if Nvidia now will use their brains and make a 285, 290 or295?

  • Hey, I was wondering which setup would be better. A single GTX580, dual GTX560's in sli or just go for one GTX560?

  • man those reference nvidia gtx560's are just plain uglyi hope your going to be getting one of those gigabyte 560ti's fastest card ive ran into with a 1000mhz core 2000 shaders and i believe 20000 on the mem gigabyte all the way evga has went to pot again great vids as always

  • Now would I able to water cool these and if I can, where do I get them?

  • so, worth to upgrade from a pair of HD 5770s to a pair of 560s?

  • there isn't any 1080P

    please re-upload

  • You mention to put it into 1080 mode, but there's only 720! :(

  • Hi Tom, thanks a lot for these helpful reviews! Props to you man!

  • i can ensure you that with the upcoming ATi drivers this card won't even compete with the 6950 :D

  • @nooblady2310 ATI is crap lol

  • lets be clear about this Tom, your saying the gtx 560 ti is faster then a stock 6970 when overclocked at 1050 Mhz?

  • @kstatham in my tests mate yes in everything but Unigine.

  • @kstatham Yea but a 6970 u can overclock to and then it beats the overclocked 560 ti to.

Overall the 6970 are alot faster than a 560 ti stock and overclocked...

  • @kstatham it is 'you are or you're saying' NOT ' your saying', correct your grammer fool!

  • I love your reviews, but can you please use a microphone attached to your shirt? Its very hard to hear you.

  • @nooblady2310 no you really wont. The 6990 is just the current cores teamed up so nothing major really. The 590 how ever will be somethign to look out for......

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms

if you plan to review that one, i recommend you hook your house on a god damn nuclear facility... thats gonna be some greedy card.

  • :D i actually went to get tea :)

  • my last TI geforce was a geforce 3 ti 500 lol :) oldschool

  • ahahahahahahah geek porn!

  • Porn

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms would you rather recommend an ati graphics card or an nvidia graphics card? Thanks for the really fine and detailed video's. Cheers from Australia.

  • @IgOrvElJo ATM its green all the way matey.

  • 7:13 bahahah

  • In a nutshell, how much faster would this card be than an ATI 5870: around 10% or so?

  • @jasonnapalm I don't think it would be worth it spending alot of money upgrading to this from a 5870, but take a look at Gigabyte's Super Overclock edition of this card. The overclocked version performs around the same as a GTX 570.

If you want I could PM you some reviews and benchmarks, but you could just google it as well :)

  • 16:20 WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH hahaha love it . Het tom i have two 460's in sli .... just wanna know if these cards use more power ?? I have a gx 750 psu ?? Thanks

  • Tom, I love your videos, but I have to call BULLSHIT. Performing better than the 6970? Tom's Hardware, Anandtech, and Guru3D all show the GTX 560 performing dead even with the equally priced 1GB 6950. No other website shows the 560 matching the 6970, which trades blows with the 570. I really hope you have an update video because telling people that the GTX 560 matces the 6970 is strait up wrong.

  • @maxwellhello He was most likely talking about overclock performance. At 1Ghz, it's probably going to perform at around the 570/6970 mark.

  • @acetic20 Exactly when overclocked its a farking beast

  • @acetic20 Nope. At 08:50 he CLEARLY states that at stock the 560 "walks" over the 6950 and 6970. This isn't true, at all.

  • And why use a 1680x1050 reso, the AMD cards run better at 1920x1080 and 2560x1440. This review sounds like controlled nvidia PR. Maybe i missed it but i cant see actual comparison benchmark numbers.

  • @tubester4567 its a 2433BW = 1920x1200

  • I've checked various reviews and it doesnt beat the 6970 and is on par with the 6950. The 6970 is on par with the 570 so are you saying the 560 "walks" all over the 570? Something is not right about this.

  • @tubester4567 When overclocked this card is almost as good as a stock 570. And it does beat the 6970 in everything by unigine.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms At 08:50 you say the STOCK 560 "walks" over the 6950 and even the 6970. You are the ONLY review site I've seen say this. Andandtech, Tom's Hardware, and Guru3D says it performs equally to the 1GB 6950. I really hope you're not basing your entire review off of arbitrary synthetic benchmarks. EVERY credible review site says the 6970 and 570 are evenly matched. Saying the 560 beats the 6970 at stock is saying the 560 beats the 570. I really think you missed the mark with this one

  • @maxwellhello watch this : watch?v=vJKBK48OcKQ , and the motherboardsorg channel also. STOCK , yes they are about equal, BUT overclocked ( and this thing CAN overclock like CRAZY) this is a little beaaaaaast.

sorry TimeToLiveCustoms, didn't mean to spam a link or anything. I'd actually like to hear a few sides of the story, but I DO plan on overclocking this card to the max until the 580 drops in price or get the 6990, whichever is better. great channel. loove it. again sorry for the link homey

  • @MrUnofficial Yes, it overclocks, but so does the 6950. It may not overclock as well as the 560 but you certainly can overclock it to get better performance.

My point is that Tom says, in this video, that a stock 560 outperforms a 6950 and a 6970. THIS ISN'T TRUE. You may be able to overclock the 560 to outperform the 6000 cards but for that to be a fair comparison you'd also have to overclock the 6000 cards as well.

  • @maxwellhello I always thought that those cards didn't overclock that much? It seems when I read about an overclocked 6000 card, it's like they just add another 100 mhz or something. Stock GPU speed at 800 overclocked to 860mhz! or 900mhz! . But I guess that would change between vendors right? So whats the highest overclocked 6000 series card reach and how much performance will thatsqueeze out of them? I know that is OC'n the core speeds is all you can do, what else can U OC to improve perform.?

  • @maxwellhello also, I was worrying about when I was considering buying a 6870 was what kind of loss in performance would I get when I have a game that uses extreme amounts of tesselation and physX. Since those features are Nvidias strong point right? I WILL probably end up with two 6990's in crossfire by the end of the year, but for now, I'll get one one of these cards and OC the shit out of. *wonders if the first post went though since it disappeared when I typed this comment in*

  • @MrUnofficial

Has not sense buying an ATI 6990 at the end of the year since comes out the new generation of NVIDIA ATI...is just like buying an old ati 5970 today...would be a little stupid choice...if you want the best now...buy 2 gtx580 and overclock them and you will have the maximum performance!!!

  • @futmut1000 Well the 5870 is still faster than 90 percent of the 6000 series cards right? Since 6000 is the budget card series? which means the 5970 still blows any 6950, 6970 out of the water, espeically if an overclocked 560 Ti can match them. Since I"m pretty sure we are stuck with windows 7 for the next 4 years we're going to be stuck with direct x11 too. I'm not worried, After Rage, Doom 4 and Quake 5 are released , my gaming days will come to an end. I can only crossfire homey, no SLI 4me.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Huh? In your own review(of 4 games)and 3d mark 11 it doesnt beat the 6970. Its a little under and with a wider selection of games the gap increases. In some games it really pulls ahead with the extra ram. Have you looked at the other reviews? Are they all wrong?

  • @tubester4567 Yes, I've ........ hope I wasn't here b4. I said in another video, not sure if it was THIS one. I just seen LinusTechTips get this card to.........what was it? I think it was a MSI Twin Frozr II GTX 560 Ti Overclocked to 1.2ghz core clock? @ 60 percent fan speed, memory un alatered. I think he said it was because the unused cuda cores from the 400 series were unlocked for the Ti (titanium series) which made these cards SUPER overclock-able.

anyways, I'm sold and buying one.

  • 80c warm? my pny 9800gt single slot card got to 100c max sock clocks and 45-50c idle

  • I have been waiting for this puppy!

  • Batshit Crazy FTW!

  • i already had a cup of tea, true story!

  • The moment you said "And that concludes the naked geek porn section" I came.

  • batshit crazy!! yeah!!!!

  • Mate no 1080 ..... Just tearing the Micky.... LOL

You would buy this or the GTX 570? Inquiring minds would like to know.

  • Mate no 1080 ..... Just tearing the Micky.... LOL

  • Will you be doing a Sli review ?

  • Does this use the same PCB as the 460? Since this is basically just a fully enabled 460.

  • @videosurfer69 different chips, 460 is GF104 the 560 is GF114, the pcb's look fairly similar but the similarities end at after the die/ram chips and power/sli connector possition tbh.

  • Whats the price rang on this card ?

  • @allisterw9 watch the video and I tell you :P

  • @allisterw9 Around £200-£250

  • *COUGH* Asus smartdoctor *COUGH*

Im pretty sure you let the cat out of the bag on one of your other video's about that tom.

  • @IHuntax naaa that only works on Asus cards, wont work on anything but Asus. I use a seperate proggy for this.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms heh, it worked a charm when i was playing with my mates EVGA 460.

Possably on about the beta version of msi afterburner then?

  • @IHuntax nope not that either :p

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Heh, well what ever it is if it works with 8800gt's ill be more than happy to test it out and post some scores up on HWbot for the team, thinking about it i have some benchmarks from my laptop to post up this evening, will only be 1 or 2 points at most but every little counts.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Precision?

  • thank you FERMI <3

    RIP CUDA

  • mmm, will not be getting new gfx card till the next gen from both are out, but I need to run 3 monitors on one card and my bulldozer(most likely) mobo will need to support sli.

  • your statements that it walks past all the amd 6000 cards doesnt seem to match upto the facts even by OC3d's own article. Other reviews on the net have it sat between the 470 and a 6950 @1920x1080 so I'm not sure how you come to that conclusion this time.

    I'm confuzzled :S

  • HD6870 Twin Frozr II Vs Gtx 560 twin frozr II

Which one would you get for games like Call of duty, Bad company 2, Stalker, F1 2010?

  • @Assertiation There's no comparison between those two cards. The 560 is much better.

  • Should I get this, GTX 460 TOP, 6870 or 5850?

  • But I don't wanna make my self a cup of tea :[

  • 16:22 LOL - Love your videos Tom, gj!

  • so the new GTX 560 TI has the best performance/price ratio avaiable on the market...

  • I love you videos... :3

  • I like that chatty part of the review, the gameplay etc are just a bonus.

    Keep it up TTL

  • 1080 mode?!

    really?.

  • I was hoping the 460's big bro was gonna be something special and again Nvidia have not let us down.. Good vid Tom..

  • Buffer 1080? who does he think hes talking to. I pay top dollar for my dial up >.>

  • So, do you think it's any good?

  • Why does he say tiny, he ain't that small hahaha

  • Damn... Nvidia is back lol AMD is going to need something amazing for the 6990

  • @keenbee213 lol thats a dual core card! AMD need a new gpu as in a whole new architecture.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms evga has a dual nvidia their releasing ... they showed one at ces 2011 but they havent released information about it apart from its dual core like the 295 and 1gb per core so 2gb :) looking forward to hear about it

  • i told everyone nvidia cant die they are too big ive never brought AMD/ATI ive never been a fan ive seen heaps of nvidia fans walk over to amd/ati when they thought nvidia was dying.

  • @DarthMuse If there wasn't at least 2 companies making cards we would be screwed so for everyone's sake we need both AMD & Nvidia to stay in the game

  • I was thinking of getting two 6970's. but now i may pick up two of these ill save some money for sure.

  • kinda feel bad about getting the 6870 now, but it plays everything I want on max and I can always Xfire (or upgrade) if some decent games requiring more horsepower are released.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Are your scores/temps open box?

  • I don't like your videos. I have now spent $2500 since December. First you forced everyone to buy an i7 950, then a GTX 570, of course a noctua nh-d14 and numerous other awesome crap. I just want to quit, but I can't.

  • YES!!!

  • "OVER 1,000!"

Someday it will be over 9,000.

  • As allways very nice review!!!!

  • Awesome video tom as usual.I am in a process of building a sandybridge rig.I am thinking i should purchase one of these cards for it when they are out and ditch my xfx hd 6870. I am like yourself i am not a fan boy but you have to give credit were credit is do.Sounds like nvidia has done it again wow.

  • wink if you got ur hands on the 6990!

  • WHY are your reviews so good???

I'm really looking forward to an external exhaust version though. I hate these kind of fan-cooled cards. Look ugly and messy and they blast hot air into your case, and keep recirculating the same hot air over and over again, and trap air into "hot-pockets"

  • Your reviews are SO entertaining, filled with honest facts and just fucking great!

    WAY TO GO TOM !

    Keep 'em coming!

  • @acana79 Brown nosing kissass.

  • @Jallandhara Normally I don't make the effort on replying to people like you, mostly because a comment like that makes a serious statment of who you are, your level of IQ and EI -> hence not worth it. Wait, yea...same story here so no, no comment.

  • @acana79 he is really the best reviewer and the most funniest imo... 16:21 xD

  • nice review so far

  • Everybody Paying Attention? ....There is Going to be a Test at the End of these Video's ..

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms any word on the gtx 595 tom? I already sold my 5970 and am waiting for that.

  • @pr0jectSkyneT just make sure that you have a nuclear power plant dedicated for the rig....

    :) joke

  • @gumberly haha. i got that and a hydroplant as well with my watercooling :D

  • @pr0jectSkyneT LOL! :)

  • a dual gpu nvidia card is expected with in the next 3 months...

  • Wow Nvidia is amazing. My 5870 is a gas guzzling Cadillac now. damn I feel ripped off for paying $500 1 year ago.

  • grate work tom ur the best i allways enjoy ur videos with a nice cup of tea thumbs up... ps do you have eny video cards for sale?

  • Enrico Fermi can now rest in peace... nVidia GTX 5xx series is good enough to match the glory of his name :)

  • There's no 1080p option, lol.

  • @72U11 Youtube people are AMD fans.

  • From the benches I've seen (Hardware Canucks, Bit-Tech) the 560 Ti stomps the 6870 and is head to head with the 6950. The fact that he's only testing at 1920x1200 kind of skews the results in favor of the 560 Ti. Also AMD is cutting prices on the 6870 and the 6950 and releasing the 6950 1GB. So yeah the 560 is really good but its not all doom and gloom for the red camp. And before u say fanboi I have a GTS 450 in my rig...

  • @AgentHydra so isn't it nice that competition exists and we'll get some price drops? ;)

  • Should I buy two 560 now or wait until march then Crysis 2 and DoW II: Retribution comes?

  • @TheTerriblePuddle do it! get em! theyll rock crysis 2!

  • ur link in the description box is broken?
