  • seeing Chris Squire in a bathrobe didn't really make my day.

    the North drums did.

  • It sounds like Chris is using a pitch shifter on his bass here (one octave up). At first I thought it was an organ playing along with him.

  • wow. i would like to see the other clips from this session.

  • Prob not my *favorite*part. I liked where Howe sits w/ his acoustic, about to do TotC's opening, saying he felt like he was sitting in the sun & asked, if he put the pick in his mouth at some point, or took it out, would the mic pick it up? He needed the control room's Ok. That's maybe my favorite part ;-) 'Precious'.

He's "precious" about his gtrs, his music.Never heard anyone using it quite that way til a Gabriel interview, "I'm precious when it comes to making my music.." A mainly Brit. usage?

  • Why can't the audio and video ever sync up with this clip?!?! :(

  • @unlikeanyotherhuman Alan is unlike any other drummer.....very unique! Very great!

  • My bootlegger send me a good deal of this Montreux stuff... but I've heard any of this. ...Don't remember any footage with those drums either.

--Ain't it cool to have your own personal bootlegger? These days sites like youtube are making them all but obselete. Been 7 or more years since we've been in touch.

  • Very cool--thanks! Alan White is great in this . . .

  • White siempre fue muy puro para tocar y buscaba no necesariamente mostrar virtuosismo si no acoplarse a las ideas grupales...

  • You don't get asked to be the drummer for a band of the caliber of Yes unless you are good. I don't favor Alan's style over Bruford, especially for Yes, but anyone who can't recognize the quality of Alan's drumming has a low musical I.Q. in terms of ability to evaluate musicians IMO.

  • I totally agree.

  • This is really very cool. It gives me an insight as to how Chris and Alan listen to each other.

North drums were really a hit when they first came out.

  • don't care what you say, this is fun for me to listen too....this often shows us more than the studio lp or concertts..... Alan white is really amazing here

  • Like all fun jams, it's often more fun for the players than the listeners!

  • One of the greatest engines ever in rock. I wish Alan would go back to this kit instead of the big set he uses today. He is a speed drummer and needs to be on top of his set.

  • Actually spelled Noth, no?

  • There are no recent bands like Yes.

  • This is fabulous!

  • AWESOME! Love these two!

  • Awesome. Nice piece of history.

  • Yes those are north drums added into his set. Alan White did play North drums for a few tours many years ago, at one time he even played a jelly bean kit with North drums mixed into that set up. ( jelly bean kit is a term used for a drum set that's made up of multiple colors)

  • To be honest, anything beyond the odd Ludwig or Pearl set is beyond me.

  • Those are North drums, no?

  • beautiful Alex, that's the finest quality i seen so far of this jam. Thank you for uploading.

  • Ta! I'm really tempted to put some "Awaken" up - but give it time.

  • Nice jam, thanks for uploading this!
