@BKalman96 - By creating the matte, I then use After Effects to carve out the hole. In 3ds max, there is no real hole in the building. Using this technique, you could also create two models - one the outside of the building and the second the inside and use the matte to transition between the two. Since you have all the debris and smoke, the inside of the building could be pretty low quality and still have the effect of seeing inside.
@MAHA673TFM - I am guessing you mean - how did I create the matte only shot? If so - I just applied a standard shader to the glass shape with a solid white diffuse and 100% self illumination. The rest of the building should be a black matte shader. I hope that helps.
this is why compositors should stick with compositing and let the FX guys to the real deal
