elgrande i advocate the killing of US troops overseas....and you tell me i do nothing for freedom....i advocate for any sovergn peoples to defend themselves from any foreign occupiers, and that includes if they are occupied by the UN or USA ....just as any one of us would resist foreign troops who are occupying our homes, and infringing on our rights, i expect those in the middle east to do the same but unfortunately most are not willing to defend themselves or their loved ones....

@ilovealexjones1 when the UN peacekeepers enter a sovereign state they do not take over control of the economy, they do not take over the governing of the country and they do not cause regime change. The role of UN peacekeepers is to keep to rival groups apart and to protect civilians. For example, in the 1967 Arab Israeli war Nasser asked the UN Peacekeepers to leave which they did thus proving that the UN did not control Egypt.

@ilovealexjones1 A UN mandate is when the UN takes control of a country where the government has collapsed or is very week, this is designed to keep the country operating as a state. UN mandates often supervise democratic elections in these countries until a democratically elected government is in operation, then the UN leaves. The UN is not an empire, it does not occupy. I have seen no reports of UN brutality towards civilians.

The Un imposes it self on sovergn indivdiuals who may have no want or need for their "services"

UN allows discussion between different nations, yes UN would not be able to stop WW3 it is inevitable but it has managed to stop WW3 so far. Also by declaring war on another UN member would be suicide for North Korea as almost all the other nations of the world would come to South Koreas aid. China might even abstain as there relations with North Korea are deteriorating.

@ilovealexjones1 before the UN there was the League of Nations, but unlike the UN the League of Nations didn't have any powers apart from to bring countries together to negotiate. There was no obligation for countries in the league to follow agreements signed in it e.g. Hitler and Mussolini. The UN can impose sanctions and call for DMZ's the league could do none of this. The UN is effectively like a big parliament where all the different countries represent MP's.

@ilovealexjones1 I used Korea because it was the first country where the UN were sent to uphold the sovereignty of a state. Korea is still a flashpoint for issues today so it was a good example. I'm not saying the UN can prevent all wars (although it has probably prevented many) if anything it allows for all diplomatic channels to have been tried before a war (to prevent war happening over miss-understanding e.t.c)

@ilovealexjones1 You can't really say the UN is bad as it has done so much good, yes there were mistakes such as what happened in Palestine, but that was simply a continuation of League of Nations policies and Imperialism which failed to consult the concerned parties effectively leading to the 1948 war

@ilovealexjones1 Impossible there was a census and a curfew so 2 and 2 could easily be put together. There were 2 soldiers per islander, thats not just regulars it includes SS and tank crews. At the time gun ownership would be limited to a lee enfield .303 so you couldn't kill many people. all weapons were confiscated so you couldn't kill anybody even if you tried. If you loved your country so much you would have join the British army and left the island anyway
