  • Bellissimi video.

    Complimenti e grazie!

  • i know this is a weird question but where did you get your manikin head and was it expensive?

  • Before the row with the added first fpdc (making it 4 ribs), I have 10 rows and 65 stitches in that row. I'm completely confused because you say it's row 12 and I should have 60 stitches.

  • I've followed along with other videos and done just fine, but on this one I'm hopelessly lost. I got confused at the part where you said here's the way it looks flat, then you started on the stem and I just started adding the rows from there. Following along with you I have a different amount of rows and at row 13 you said 72 stitches, I have 78, and mine looks totally different from yours. Are there written instructions for this anywhere?

  • I have tried making this hat 4 times and i always pull it apart cause i always use the wrong yarn do i need extra thin yarn?

  • Really hoping for written instructions as well... I started this hat after watching the video and writing down instructions at the same time but I lost the paper I wrote everything on... I haven't had the time to sit down and watch the whole video again and write at the same time :(

  • Thank you so much for posting this tutorial, it's amazing! I made this hat in a cream colour with a pompom and it turned out amazing! Thank you so much!!

  • See that many have asked this but no reply that I could find will you be posting written instructions? Would so love to make this. Thanks for sharing your wonderful creations.

  • do you think a beginner can do this? IHave been crocheting for 2 weeks so far, and im pretty good :)

  • @WellThenItsAlex I will see what I can do. I may have to do it in parts to keep the quality.

  • Not really sure what I have done wrong, my hat is beautiful but the cables dont really rise up like they should. Help please?

  • @Shizu6616 Have you gone around the post of the stitch? If you happened to go through the stitch, the cable may not rise as much as it should.

  • @tjw1963 I'm pretty sure I went around but I may not have the stitches rose some but not like your. I have a pic. Looks like they risen up in the pic, but that is not actually the case looks more like the caps got this great wavy thing going on

  • Do you have a printable pattern? I LOVE YOUR Videos. I have made many hats for my children thanks to your videos. Keep up the great work,

  • Do you have to use certain sizes of crochet hooks for crocheting different things?

  • After round 14, do you keep joining and chaining one or do you make a continual round until you get to round 23? ill post a video response when I'm done! its turning out great so far, I'm just stuck right now! great tutorial!

  • @mohler22 I joined each round. It should work with the continual round so you can work it if you are familiar with the technique. When you finish, you will need to work a slip stitch to even off the round.

  • @tjw1963 okay, thank you! i will probably just join and then chain one after every round to be on the safe side! I'd hate to mess up now.

  • do you just add the first flap anywhere?

  • i would LOVE to figure out how to make this hat..love this style!!

  • theresa, when beginning round 8, do you do a fpdc around the beginning chain and 1st dc together or separately? I'm having a difficult time having it end up with a hdc. thanks!

  • First off, I love your work, I am about 16 years old, making these kinds of things, and I was wondering if you had the written instructions because it would be easier. I also admire your talent. Thanks for the tutorials. :)

  • can u make one without the stem??

  • Would a size 3.5 needle work with this hat?

  • @thorre79 After round 3, you work round 7. This will give you a flat cap.

  • Finishing up my hat tomorrow. Im proud of myself.

  • @TheUrbanTreasure Please share a video response.

  • mine wants to curve inside out and im following step by step doing exactly what you are doing but it seems to want to curve the opposite way so that the chains would be on the inside... why?!

  • @Justinlgwynn1 I am not sure what you mean by chains curving the opposite way. You should be able to push it back to the correct side if you are talking about the sides forming. Once you have worked enough rounds it is going to stay in place.

  • I love all your tutorials, thank you so much for sharing....

  • Can I get the pattern for this without the stem? please and thank you

  • @misswifeytype2010 This video tells you how to make it without the stem.

  • @misswifeytype2010 I will post this tutorial on my other channel (youtube/crochet) tomorrow. It will not include the stem.

  • @tjw1963 thank you

  • No matter what I try, even watching other videos it all ends up in a ball

  • @kadaj55 Keep practicing. Maybe you need to try an easier tutorial. I have send you the beginner playlist.

  • I still don't know what I'm doing wrong. It still curves and looks like a ball.. I'm getting rather frustrated with this

  • When im making the beginning circle mine always starts to curve upward :( help?

  • when I try to start this, I get to about round 3 and it starts to curve.. what am I doing wrong

  • @kadaj55 Maybe you did not work the increase stitches.

  • in round 12, do you chain one?

  • Where can I find the written pattern for this?

  • Thanks for the pattern. I love it! I used purple yarn instead of the orange and without the stem/leaves and added ears on top. I would show you a picture but somehow I am unable to post the picture in this comment. Thanks for the detailed directions and sharing this pattern!

  • @forevermicky Sounds pretty. You can do a video response or share a picture on Goole+ or Facebook.

  • Thank you, Teresa, for this beautiful pattern! I made a black colored one and changed the stitches a little bit, because it was getting to small for my head (even though I used the right hook and the right type of yarn) - so I just added some stitches and it turned out beautifully! :)

  • @crazyokapi I am glad that it turned out for you.

  • Just wondering if you will be posting a written/typed pattern for this video? I so enjoy the videos you post thanks so much.

  • Made this for my first crochet project. Started over about 20 times, but it turned out great :)

  • I love love love this beanie. I keep running out of yarn!

Oh.. well.. another trip to the craft store cant hurt... =]

    Thank you so much!

  • how much yarn is used for this project?

  • @laneyangell93 I used about 400-500 meters.

  • @tjw1963 how long is 400-500 meters in US and is this project to hard for a beginner crochet?

  • @catz2505 Meters is listed on most US yarn labels along with yards. It will be approximately 2 skeins of yarn depending on how many meters are in each skein.

  • @tjw1963 Thanks for the info. Love this hat, going to give it a try.

  • @catz2505 It could be challenging but there have been beginners that do well with harder projects. You could give it a try. If you find it is to difficult, try something easier and come back. Crochet is repetition. As long as you understand the repetition, once you learn how to do the stitch, you should do well.

  • @tjw1963 Thanks for the info. I've only been crocheting like a month!! LOL!! But everything looks so good and would be so f un to try Like you said I can only try, if not I'll try again later. I've only done really easy things like dishcloths, headbands and a couple scarfs. But practice makes perfect. thanks again.

  • I can not seem to get my circle correct in the begining. After I start, I end up with a ball of mess or I can't figure out where to put my hook to start creating the circle. Any tips?

  • do you have this pattern written out i would like it that way. love your projects.

  • this will be my next project!! i'm doing the halloween pumpkin now! Thank you so much for your tutorial vidios, they are amazing.

  • Yaaayyy!! Thank you sooo much Teresa!! I love your videos!! I was a little scared about doing this one because I've only been crocheting for 7 or 8 months but it was very easy to fallow!! Thank you sooo much!! keep posting great videos!! =D..I consider you, my crochet teacher! lol

  • Is there any written instructions for this pattern?

  • Thank you for uploading all these wonderful videos! I am just looking for the written pattern for this project do you still provides those? Please and thank you

  • D': i cant do it! .... but my failed attempts are going to be pot holders... so...

  • @theravenlove Keep practicing and you will be able to do it. If you are new to crochet, you may want to try an easier project.

  • @tjw1963 I figured out I had it right... I'm using black so its kinda hard to see.. hahaha I'm such a smartie :P

  • @theravenlove I am glad you figured it out. Sometimes practicing over and over is all you need to do.

  • This tutorial is very confusing... i understand that you tried to make 3 different versions in one vid to save time, space or whatever but would it be to much to ask you to make a tutorial of you making just the regular cable hat? i'm sory but i'm easily confused...lol

  • Where is the link to the pattern? They used to be in the description.

  • Hi! I have made many of your projects and usually the instructions are very clear and helpful, however, I can't seem to follow this one at all! I do not want to make a pumpkin hat, just the one you show in the beginning. Why is the pumpkin hat included in this tutoral video when it is supposed to be the cap with cables, earflaps, and braid ties? It is very hard to follow! I found another video for your pumpkin hat, were the instructions for that hat supposed to be included here too? HELP!

  • @waldronBROZ It is showing 2 hat variations. Work round 1-3 and then skip to round 7 to continue.

  • @waldronBROZ This is the adult size version of the smaller cap. There were requests for an adult size pumpkin hat.

  • so want to do this!! I have a little pumpkin and we both need hats like these, time to put away knitting needles and get out the hook!!!

  • I am also hoping for written directions so I can print them out and take them with me

  • This is so cute! When will a left-handed video be available?? I am so glad that I found your videos and talent here on YouTube. There are so many things I have learned how to do and have been able to make some great things for my family, all because of those left-handed videos! Thanks!! Looking forward to the next 5

  • You are so talented and create many beautiful projects. Thank for sharing with us! =)

  • Is there going to be written instructions coming out soon or already out?

  • love it!! Can't wait to make it

  • The cap you showed first does not match with the video is my computer crazy. Please let me know if is.

  • @jaxikaos What do you mean it does not match? I have provided 3 different size caps in the video along with different options. The cap can be a pumpkin cap with a stem or mad without a stem.

  • @tjw1963 thank you. Is my fault I'm very sorry I skipped the video to end because I wanted to see the final project and obviously missed everything. SORRY again. I love your videos. I have learned to crochet watching your videos. thank you for sharing.

  • look great! i would love the written pattern....easy to follow

  • where can i find this pattern in written form? i wanna print it off and take it with me on my trip this weekend

  • Thanks for your new pattern. I was just thinking about starting a hat.

  • thanks for the great pattern!
