This has gotta be the cutest song, when you think about what Buddys singing about. I also like the mexican sound within. It's on side B of Buddys top 10 hit called Open, which I bought in 1961, it's like I got two hits in one. Chi-hua-hua pup is a hit that never was, as it wasn't played on the rock stations here in Vancouver Canada...but I played it. Thanks for posting this puppy on youtube... if it wasn't for you I'd still be playing that record & as far as having a real puppy..no way!
I'm debjo18's older sister and I can also add my sentiments about this song. Our mom loved this song and when we were young, my "baby" sister learned every word...and can still remember every word of it today! It reminds me of good times with my mom and sister. Thanks for posting this!
OMG! I have been looking for this FOR YEARS! No place on the internet have I found it until now. I have regretting losing the album that this appeared on, and now with my parents gone (mom would play it when I was TINY - and I'm 45 now) I had no one that even knew what I was talking about.
