@tonebone8 They said in a few interviews that they were arguing with her a lot + finally they asked her to leave. They also didn't want to be seen as another Portishead. It's just a shame that once she was gone they didn't have any real chart success. I love 'Splinter' + 'Bloodsport'. :-)

Kelli was not able to perform the vocals alive properly. She was way out of tune....bad singer. Ok, she has some voice, was important to the band story and stuff, but she can't sing. FAce that.

@FlusherD12 Chris Corner was the founding member of sneaker pimps. Kelli was the singer at first, and Chris and the others did the instrumental parts mainly, but after some stuff she was told to leave. After that Chris took over the vocal side of things.

When I want the nostalgic trip backwards I'll listen the Becoming X. When I want to move forward and create new memories, I'll listen to Chris' IAMX project. Chris had a choice, like all artists do: evolve or die.

Wow. I was totally addicted to this song when I first heard it in the mid 90s and I've listened to it a dozen times tonight since finding it again on Youtube. I'd never heard it sung by Chris and didn't think I would like it sung by anyone other than Kelli. All I can say is wow. His vocals are just so smooth and sexy.
oh maaan, Kelli is great (no doubt about it). I probably couldn't handle Corner right off the bat, and listening to Six Underground (album) with Kelli got me into the Pimps. However, Chris is really something else. Great charisma and just a great feel for the band's style.

@zeppelinfeld but when I saw NIN With Teeth tour the band wasn't the same great band it was for Fragile tour.When guitarist Robin Finck came back to NIN for Lights over North America tour Robin Finck brought back what current NIN band members are missing.Robin made that one of the best shows i had seen in months/years moving around stage kicking and breaking shit just one of the original members made it enough for me to see them again,it would be even better if the old band gets back together

@TooleralusAEnima I've been a fan of NIN since 1991 (although the new stuff sucks) and if you knew anything about the band, you would know that Trent Reznor IS in fact Nine Inch Nails. The only time he needs a band is when he tours, so it's irrelevant who plays live because they play what Trent tells them to. No one else contributes anything to NIN. He has his own studio where he writes the music, lyrics and performs ALL of it himself and mixes it all together. Do your damn research, seriously.

You don't know shit about me. I'm a musician myself. Some of my favorite artists are Kate Bush, Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, Weather Report, and the Cocteau Twins. I can tell you right now when Sneaker Pimps came out with the original 6 Underground there was a chemistry there that drew people in. And there's nothing wrong with having a cute girl in the band, especially if she can nail a vocal part like she did again and again on Becoming X. This new crap just sounds generic.

oh maaan, Kelli is great (no doubt about it). I probably couldn't handle Corner right off the bat, and listening to Six Underground (album) with Kelli got me into the Pimps. However, Chris is really something else. Great charisma and just a great feel for the band's style.

Chris sounds great singing this song. i'm pretty sure the people bashing on Chris & Sneaker Pimps only heard Spin Spin Sugar and 6 Underground. there is no way the band sucked after Kelli's departure. they released some great music!

The pro-Kelli comments always make me laugh, because it's more than obvious that said commenters know nothing about the band. Kelli was JUST a singer. She never contributed any lyrics or music to Sneaker Pimps. Yes she had a nice voice, but Chris is the talent. This is HIS band, which gives him more than enough right to perform HIS songs without Kelli's vocals. Get the fuck over it.

@TooleralusAEnima First off, Chris is NOT an attention whore. If you knew anything at all about Sneaker Pimps, you would know that. It wasn't his sole decision to kick Kelli out of the band either. The band as a whole decided that the new material they wrote for Splinter would be better suited for Chris' vocals. I'm ignoring the homosexual comment since that's an asshole thing to say and is completely irrelevant. Now for Nine Inch Nails...

@zeppelinfeld but when I saw NIN With Teeth tour the band wasn't the same great band it was for Fragile tour.When guitarist Robin Finck came back to NIN for Lights over North America tour Robin Finck brought back what current NIN band members are missing.Robin made that one of the best shows i had seen in months/years moving around stage kicking and breaking shit just one of the original members made it enough for me to see them again,it would be even better if the old band gets back together

When Head left Korn it wasn't the same for me, I have even stopped listening to Korn's latest albums only thing I have left is their old work when the band was together :(

@TooleralusAEnima I've been a fan of NIN since 1991 (although the new stuff sucks) and if you knew anything about the band, you would know that Trent Reznor IS in fact Nine Inch Nails. The only time he needs a band is when he tours, so it's irrelevant who plays live because they play what Trent tells them to. No one else contributes anything to NIN. He has his own studio where he writes the music, lyrics and performs ALL of it himself and mixes it all together. Do your damn research, seriously.

THE MUSIC SUCKS WITHOUT KELLI!!! No matter bashing Corner or not, a female vocalist with this type of music is better. Kelli gives all the high tones that Sneaker Pimp music needs. They only kicked her off the band cuz Chris corner is frikkin jealous that she sounds better than him. They need to get it together and get back out. No Kelli = No Sales = No Cash = No Tours = Sneaker Pimps is the past.

Wow, someone's seriously talking about "new crap" while SP released their last album and performed this show nearly 10 years ago? If you want to have "new crap", which is indeed some of the best music you can get nowadays (at least if you ask me), listen to IAMX.

You don't know shit about me. I'm a musician myself. Some of my favorite artists are Kate Bush, Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, Weather Report, and the Cocteau Twins. I can tell you right now when Sneaker Pimps came out with the original 6 Underground there was a chemistry there that drew people in. And there's nothing wrong with having a cute girl in the band, especially if she can nail a vocal part like she did again and again on Becoming X. This new crap just sounds generic.

Mmmmmn, Chris makes this song so hot. Kelli sounded okay, but I just prefer Chris. Never was a fan of high voices. Plus, Chris sounds amazing live and recorded.

When I first heard this version I thought.... well thats interesting (in just a blank staring at it kind of way). It kind of stuck with me though and decided to give it another listen or two and I think I like it more then the commercial version with Kelli singing. Definitely has more of an edge when he sings it.

Sneaker pimps suck now because there is nothing about them that is unique or interesting, the singer is just another effeminate male singer with an adequate singing voice. Nothing special about them now that Kelli is gone. They write good songs, they just cant deliver them well anymore.

I think they're great and chris is an amazing singer with real talent in every aspect of music, nothing adequate about him. he wrote all of the songs Ali sang for SP anyway, and sings them better (again imho). they are much better off without Ali, who imo sounds like a drowning cat when she's live.
