i have two friends attending berklees currently... they are both amazing musicians and i believe they are good enff to do there own things, hell they did there own music before getting into berklees.

If they can say that with their talent they lie at the middle of the table, and there's still people on top.. Then berklees is definitly amazing and students attending there indeed are too

It's not the school that should get you a good job it's the musician, whether or not your successful after Berklee is up to you. Just because you go to berklee doesnt mean youll automatically be the greatest performer ever.

It must be a good school, however, a musician is not made by the school he/she went. Many of the greatest musicians are mostly self-tought, they learned because they had a very strong motivation to do it.

I thought about Berklee for a while, but then I watched this..... If I want to become a computer programmer, I will study that... Why would I spend money on an extremely expensive school just to land in an electronics company cubicle? Chances are, if you know how to play an instrument, you are already close to having the same amount of success as anyone that goes to Berklee as a performer. I'm beginning to think it's somewhat overrated.

Yea, I'd say the best bet in becoming a performer is going to Musician's Institute (MI) in Los Angeles, California. They have scouts come by monthly.

some dude used to blast the soundtrack from some porno in the middle of the night out his window at the 150 mass ave. building. now this building has an entire circular section in the middle that is open - all the windows facing each other. that video was the only action i got while at berklee. *LOL*

actually, this guy is speaking the truth. berklee is an excellent place to get an education, but there are no guarantees for anything else.

why i hear this all the time but ive heard as a music college go they hve the most industry connections and carreer opputunities after graduation is the education really that bad? because the amount of alumni throughout every facet of the music industry is quite large

That's a horrible misconception. You won't make any bigtime music connections there, they just want you to think that.  I graduated from there (it was hell bc of the facilities), and they wouldn't even give me an internship. I have zero connects now bc of Berklee.
