Not bad for your first try. Way to Commit to keeping your feet in. Squat down in the tray then push hard with your legs when you leave the water, Tuck your head back as far as possible, You will make it. Are you using trim?
@Bdsford00 Thanks for the advice. That's what I learned after watching myself try it. I think watching footage is the best way of learning. And yes, I was using trim for this. I wouldn't try it without trim with a stock length ski like mine
can someone explain how to do a backflip, just out of curiosity, Cause im getting my first jet ski, hopefully a yamaha superjet 2012 if that info helps
@QbnBeast It's a lot harder than you would think, especially with a stock length ski. Refer to my comment below to WhyteFreak for advice. My best advice is: timing, trim, balls, and watch other people do it in videos and study their every movement and see what they do right and wrong. They're actually a lot of fun and don't hurt as bad as barrel rolls when you don't get it all they way around
im getting a js750 this week and im wondering whats the best mods to put on them? it already has a smaller water box, coffman pipes, performance dual carbs, pre mix only gas tank *oil tank removed* basically 5K of aftermarket parts but i still want to go faster.
I do know that all the old school jet ski owners definitly ride harder
@WhyteFreak Thats kind of what I did here cuz I had no idea what to do. The only person who I ever saw do it before was Eric Malone in "Rampt" a bunch of years back. If you search for my new video called "Ryan Doberstein Backflip Attempts; Take 2" you will see better stuff. You want great drivers and we found that we want the spray between the boats to just be touching each other when your going in to hit it. Also, I think timing is the most important thing and trim helps out too!
@techn9neboarder It's a 2007 custom built "WamemrJet." It's Wamilton's lightweight hull of a SuperJet. Basically just a stock 701cc engine with Factory B Pipe and stock ignition.
@FlyinRyanFreestyle wow haha thats insane can role it ? i have try rolls on a v wake with a stock sxr no footholds lol so sketchy haha but ya i just put foothold in my ski goin ridin in 45 degree water lol
@techn9neboarder Yea I don't think barrel rolls is the best off a v-wake but i have seen it done, but barely. And yea, you've gotta ride whenever you can around here especially when its cold. I actually took my sx-r out on Lake Erie on Jan 1st, 2007 when the water was 42 degrees. It was crazy and a lot of fun.
@techn9neboarder Yea, I do. I haven't been on there in over a year I believe, but I'll probably be going back on there sometime this spring. Its a great website. I'd tell you my user name, but I honestly can't remember what it is haha
@FlyinRyanFreestyle lol hah imma try to throw some quick mods on my ski b pipe solas imp. get it tooned in u kno and if u remember it my names techn9neborder
@lakeboy183 Hey Nolan. I'm glad to see that you're one of my first 9 views on this video! Yes, I am using my trim on the backflips I'm trying to figure out if I just need more speed and more height or what. Overall tho, I'm actually kind of happy with the progress that I made with just 4 attempts and a 2 foot wake.
@FlyinRyanFreestyle Nice! I'm no expert when it comes to V-wakes, (I ride surf), but It looks like you're going too fast on the approach. Slow down and nail it in the trough. You'll get more vert and less launch, and more rotation. Great effort!
@FLightPlanDan Thanks for the response. I totally agree with you. This was my first ever time trying backflips AND 1st time ever hitting a V-wake. In theory, you want to just hit the gas hard in the trough like you say, but i just felt like I wasn't getting close when doing that. So then at the end I went faster and A LOT bigger, but I feel like it didn't give me much more rotation.
I will be trying more backflips in 2 weeks and will hopefully get closer this time. Thanks for the insight!

That's some pretty sick tuff man. When you do a backflips do you just gas it up the wake and lean back cause I really want to learn how.
