My family had all 3 games, we used to play them religiously. They all had good boss battles, but there was something about this one and being locked in exclusively dark caves against various monstrosities that sticks out in my mind.

It just seems like a shame that there isnt a Rare collection for games like Battletoads Wizards and Warriors and othe great Rare games.

THis is a classic. My many saves the woman, cuts down the rope to let her down. She "THINKS" Kuros is going to scoop her up in his arms and take her out the catacombs. But rich women don't get know love from Kuros. He just walks right past her lol! "Chick I killed tons of demons & bosses to save you and you expect me to lift you up out of here. Get the walking!"

The weird thing about this game is the enemies in the stages were merely a nuisance, since when you died you started exactly where you were. So the challenges were bosses, collecting gems and treasures, and getting to hard-to-reach places.

I loved this game. I'll never forget the 1st time I reached the final boss. I got really luckey on my 1st attempt and completly crushed him without taking a single hit. I did not want it to end so easily so I let him kill me. I spent the next hour or so wishing I just killed him, lol

go buy an NES for 15 bucks somewhere...I bought the copy of W&W that I have now for about 2 dollars. There's nothing like playing it on the real thing (i.e, not on an emulator).

I just love the way Kuros rescues the distressed Damsels, just to leave them curled up on the cave floor half naked to find their own way out.
And that Skeleton battle always made Malkil look like a chump when I played.

What sucked with this game was that you would beat the boss, have very little health left, and get killed by the damn purple ghosts after the battle!

on the bat level, if you run all the way to the right and then face left and do the levitation, all of the bats will run into your sword and die.

Man, I hated this game. It was so goddamn difficult.
Besides I played W&W III first, and I expected more from this one. Anyway, it bringed back a lot of memories :`(

The music for this is the greatest! And my favorite name is "Esmeralda". I remember my friend and I trying to beat the damn growing skeleton when we were like 10 yrs old, and it took like 500 times but we finally beat that idiot!! lol

the skeleton. who gets bigger was allways the most annoying to me... there a safe point in the end boss where all you do is levitate, and you hurt him and he doesnt hurt you.. if i ever get this game on my comp i can show anyone how to do it.. its very simple. hard to explaine.. but in the vid.. i know where it is.

I loved this game. I'll never forget the 1st time I reached the final boss. I got really luckey on my 1st attempt and completly crushed him without taking a single hit. I did not want it to end so easily so I let him kill me. I spent the next hour or so wishing I just killed him, lol

Awesome. Malkil is a pain in the ass to kill because of his reath regeneration. Great video though, this is my 2nd fav NES game of all time.

the music in this is the best in any game i've played, its hypnotic. and the sound effects are just as good, the castle is so hard to climb up at the end, that was the pain for me, but even that was still a joy! i don't believe i will ever find a game like that again, i wish i new of a free download to this game, if anyone knows please reply.

go buy an NES for 15 bucks somewhere...I bought the copy of W&W that I have now for about 2 dollars. There's nothing like playing it on the real thing (i.e, not on an emulator).

This is one of my absolute favorites. I spent hours on this.
What was funny was that when you were about to die, the music was actually kinda funny and happy.
Try releasing a game now with the princess naked and hanging from the ceiling with a rope... good luck. Some BDSM bad guys!

ranks up there with the best videogame music I've ever heard in my life, and I've been playing videogames since fucking Intellivision. the only thing that's kind of retarded about this game is the fact that it has infinite continues. I wish there were a cheat code that gave you maybe only 10 or 15 continues...that would maybe be a challenge.
