I am Canadian, therefore I do not have a full understanding of the US economy, although I am very frustrated to witness such poor handling of the US economy by the current government. I believe George Bush's recent decision to inject $150 billion into the country's money supply, given the circumstances, such as the US dollar who is already struggling enough to maintain a good currency. Thats not what the facts say. Wait times are much longer in canada, france, cuba, all the communist countries. Of course, at least its "free". Free unless you pay taxes. Pressures on the economy are so great we risk the worst recession since the 30's. Independent M3 numbers currently show a 18+% inflation rate. They might and watch what happens if the Fed cuts again. Currently at 74, the $ could drop 40+% in value if it breaks 72 on the index. The Fed does wish to devalue it further, but in a controlled fall. Good Luck.

Ok, monetary policy. But what about fiscal policy? What spending would he cap? What taxes would he cut? What's the promise on years to have zero-deficit/balanced-budget? What pork is auto vetoed?
He wants to eliminate basically every Federal Department, especially the department of homeland security. He's for a fair tax. I'm not sure about the promise on years to a balanced budget, but I trust him to get us there and quick. Our foreign policy is the biggest dent in our budget and he wants to bring all of the troops home. He's a non-interventionist.
Good points. And if fair tax fails by, say, year three, what is his backup plan? Since balanced budgets are more probable, why not address likely goals? For example, pledge to inflation minus 1% per department is more believable than saying eliminating every fed dept. It would show a better grasp of political realities... no?
Get rid of the IRS, D.O.Ed. and Homeland Sercuity would cap a lot. When Dr. Paul gets rid of IRS, wouldn't it lower taxes as low as they could go? One can't promise something and mean it when they know they will not be around forever. Let's just hope it will put future young adults on the right path.

But the creditors, the banks and the loan companies, will have to suffer as the inflation means that the values of their loans, which are of fixed numbers and cannot rise as the money becomes inflated, are diminished. People who are debtors, for example, the family who have just bought a house on installments, are not going to suffer but to benefit from unexpected inflation instead, which could not happen anyway as the Federal Reserve would never let it.

No matter how reluctant to judge I am, I have to say that, based on what he said on this video, he is just a blatant liar and a clumsy clown. The people whom inflation really benefits are the debtors rather than the creditors. The real wage is determined by the labor supply which cannot be affected by inflation. That means the nominal wage will rise as the currency inflates and the real wage stays unchanged if the factors of productivity and labor supplies are unchanged.
Every one needs a place to live. What's left over buys food and other necessities.
My first job some 35 years ago paid the minimum wage of $2.32/hr. The price of the average home was about $15-20,000. 35 years later, the minimum wage in the same part of the country is about $7/hr, but the same home now costs $400,000. The property tax would now be $4,000/yr. or $333/month.

He is right that if more money is printed it will bring down the value however he is negelecting to talk about the other factors that determine the value of the US dollar in compairson to other currency. OMG inflation is not a problem? The entire Federal Reserve was created to combat inflation. If inflation was not a problem as you claim, than what need do we have for the Federal Reserve?
Yes, the FR was created to help control inflation. But we don't have a problem w/ inflation now & haven't for 20 years. We also don't have a problem w/ polio now in the US since we've all taken the vaccine. We you also argue that polio is NOW a problem because the vaccine was created to address it?
If you don't think we have a problem with inflation just look at the price of gold and look at a chart of the value of the dollar. For the first 180 years of our history we were on a gold/silver standard of some kind until 1971 where our currency is now completely fiat. We haven't had a crisis since 1980 when interest rates were 20% and we're well on our way back to that.

Ron Paul is correct about the monetary policy in principle but some of his economic ideas are extreme. Essentially his ideology wants to turn over everything to corporate sharks. He would allow monopolies and wild wild west economics without any regulations like environmental and worker safety concerns. Economically libertarianism fails, though socially it is superb.

I am Canadian, therefore I do not have a full understanding of the US economy, although I am very frustrated to witness such poor handling of the US economy by the current government. I believe George Bush's recent decision to inject $150 billion into the country's money supply, given the circumstances, such as the US dollar who is already struggling enough to maintain a good currency. Only time will tell...

fractional reserve banking is even more deletarious to inflation than the FED printing it.
i put 1000% in bank, bank can loan out 10,000. Some guy borrows the 10,000. where did the 9000 come from? out of the banks ass. thats 95% of inflation there. Although we must get rid of the FED, we also must TOTALLY a nd COMPLETE?ly end Fractional reserve banking. who has the power to control the money supply? banks and the FED that controls them. thats it. case solved. it much more simple than it isn't. (haha) the FED prints money all the time, diluting the purchasing power. 1 dollar is now worth 4 cents of what it used to in 1913. it wouldn't be possible if money was backed by say gold. Then the gov would have to either find more gold, cut spending, or raise taxes. no wonder they like inflation!

It's amazing how well Paul knows his facts, so unlike many candidates, he often seems to make eye contact more and read off of notes much less. Pressures on the economy are so great we risk the worst recession since the 30's. Independent M3 numbers currently show a 18+% inflation rate. They might and watch what happens if the Fed cuts again. Currently at 74, the $ could drop 40+% in value if it breaks 72 on the index. The Fed does wish to devalue it further, but in a controlled fall. Good Luck.
We will see damaging consumer prices which will send us down the proverbial toilet. Most of what we buy is imported.

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He wants to eliminate basically every Federal Department, especially the department of homeland security. He's for a fair tax. I'm not sure about the promise on years to a balanced budget, but I trust him to get us there and quick. Our foreign policy is the biggest dent in our budget and he wants to bring all of the troops home. He's a non-interventionist.

Good points. And if fair tax fails by, say, year three, what is his backup plan? Since balanced budgets are more probable, why not address likely goals? For example, pledge to inflation minus 1% per department is more believable than saying eliminating every fed dept. It would show a better grasp of political realities... no?

Get rid of the IRS, D.O.Ed. and Homeland Sercuity would cap a lot. When Dr. Paul gets rid of IRS, wouldn't it lower taxes as low as they could go? But the creditors, the banks and the loan companies, will have to suffer as the inflation means that the values of their loans, which are of fixed numbers and cannot rise as the money becomes inflated, are diminished. People who are debtors, for example, the family who have just bought a house on installments, are not going to suffer but to benefit from unexpected inflation instead, which could not happen anyway as the Federal Reserve would never let it.

No matter how reluctant to judge I am, I have to say that, based on what he said on this video, he is just a blatant liar and a clumsy clown. The people whom inflation really benefits are the debtors rather than the creditors. The real wage is determined by the labor supply which cannot be affected by inflation. That means the nominal wage will rise as the currency inflates and the real wage stays unchanged if the factors of productivity and labor supplies are unchanged.

My first job some 35 years ago paid the minimum wage of $2.32/hr. The price of the average home was about $15-20,000. 35 years later, the minimum wage in the same part of the country is about $7/hr, but the same home now costs $400,000. The property tax would now be $4,000/yr. or $333/month.
Is ignorance bliss? My heart goes out to the younger generation who will not be able to afford a home.

The politicians are aware that if all guns were banned they would no longer need to fear us. The intent of the Second Amendment is obvious and actually requires gun ownership and the minimum ammunition needed.
They already act as if the Constitution is obsolete. I am sad to say that I fear the government now more than ever, and especially if there is the likely economic collapse.

- a rapidly dropping of the dollar and a noticeably higher rate of inflation.
-talk and escalation of the war, namely Iran.
His modest campaign funds can keep him viable, while world events can conspire to make his message even more appealing.

OMG inflation is not a problem? The entire Federal Reserve was created to combat inflation. If inflation was not a problem as you claim, than what need do we have for the Federal Reserve?

Yes, the FR was created to help control inflation. But we don't have a problem w/ inflation now & haven't for 20 years. We also don't have a problem w/ polio now in the US since we've all taken the vaccine. We you also argue that polio is NOW a problem because the vaccine was created to address it?

If you don't think we have a problem with inflation just look at the price of gold and look at a chart of the value of the dollar. For the first 180 years of our history we were on a gold/silver standard of some kind until 1971 where our currency is now completely fiat. We haven't had a crisis since 1980 when interest rates were 20% and we're well on our way back to that.

This is a Faulty Analogy. One polio vaccine means you will never get Polio. The FR makes no such guarantee, and if you look at what is happening to our economy right now, you may get a picture of how threatening inflation really is.

Ron Paul is correct about the monetary policy in principle but some of his economic ideas are extreme. Essentially his ideology wants to turn over everything to corporate sharks. He would allow monopolies and wild wild west economics without any regulations like environmental and worker safety concerns. Economically libertarianism fails, though socially it is superb.

Unions have lost power due to the fact that corporations can fire and replace people at will now while still paying the minimum. If unions could change things they would have done so already..

If Ron Paul votes against giving away money to Darfur, its not because he hates Sudanese Refugees, its because he votes against giving away money. If Ron Paul votes against More Environmental Regulations, its not because he loves pollution, its because he opposes excessive government regulation. With our christian based beliefs from our founding fathers who based this country on liberty and justice for all. They never intended on the American people paying 50 to 60 percent of there income to taxes.. a Vote for Ron Paul is a vote for change in America. Any christian should be voting for this guy..
