  • I really enjoyed your documentary. Great job. Have you ever spent any time researching George Harrison's last album, "BRainWASHED"? I am curious as to your thoughts on: 1 - Title and Cover art; 2 - Track 2 "P.2. Vatican Blues(Last Saturday Night)". . . peace.

  • @blackbirdsPepperPlan, I haven't really looked into that last album by George. Thanks for mentioning it, as I will do so now that you made me aware of its' possible relation to the PID saga. And thanks for the kind comment!

  • ok the patch on pauls arm does not say OPD its OPP for Ontario Provincial Police if you dont believe me heres a link

    look it up on google

  • @kstoughton89, this is referenced in my video.

  • Such a well put together video. Good job. So many clues and it makes me think that it could be real.

  • @pjlurker420, Thanks for the kind comment!

  • imagine if this waz just i HUGE Joke from the beatles

  • Can't get enough of this stuff. One way or the other, it is... Entertaining. Thanks.

  • @lkjh4433, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!

  • @MattHawes No problemo.

  • Always loved the layers of mystery behind these albums, fantastic video thanks for sharing it.

  • @wunderkammer100, Thanks for watching it! -- Matt

  • does that mean not alot? :p

  • @beccaboozy172, LOL!

  • i have a possible other clue

the song elenor rigby was apparently an based upon john stumbling upon a tombstone given the name and so a song was written suspecting the possibility of what that womens life was about so out of curiosity is there any possibility that could be the name paul is burried under....the song was originally thought up in 1966 (coincidental?) and discusses a lonely life although he had a girlfriend his burial had to be discreate....do i have a point or just rubish?

  • @beccaboozy172, you have as much a point as some of the clues.

  • dude, terrific job.

  • @giles422, Thanks!

  • Wow...pretty rare these days to get a reply..er ...at all....

Great job on this!....you still need to get Macca to watch this and then respond at the end.... ;-)

Even if its just a wry smile it would be fascinating.

I think i just want you to get him to admit he was in on some of it....at least!!!!...

    Keep us posted!....lol.

    Thanks again fella!....

  • @MrPaolo101, Thank you! I wish I could talk to Macca! That would be awesome!

  • Very interesting and thought-provoking. Thank you for uploading this.

  • @MitchTheWarlord, Thank you for watching, and for the kind comment!

  • What a great story....told and explored well...

So they found another paul mccartney...lol..

I think you have only to look at the talent competitions of today to see just how silly that is...William Cambell....pfffft...lol...

The only thing that would have made this better would have been Macca himself (todays Macca)...talking about it... I think he played up to it just a little!!!...but very fun...

    Great upload...thanks!!!!..

  • @MrPaolo101, Thanks for the kind comments!

  • Great job...this story was HUGE in the fall of 1969...it went worldwide...radio specials...tv specials..

..all of the major news outlets picked this up...ABC...NBC...ABC...magazines...when this came out in October 1969 it was all we talked about in Jr.High...

  • @beatlejim64, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!

  • "all together now" is the best clue the beatles gave to all their fans to decipher..if you play it backwards it says "I'm a vegetable"..great film well mad and very compelling and interesting. whether it's hoax or not there's no question that there was a lot of in jokes, masked stuff, symbolism etc and let's face it none of them were stupid. Crowley's work influence lots of artists, musicians and the gliteratti and was and still is very fashionable.

  • @dannyofthededd, Thanks for the kind comments!

  • i tried calling one of the phone #s found on thier album at 5:00 am on a wed. morning and nothing happened

  • About the Paul playing right handed thing, both John and Paul learned to play guitar omni handed when they were young because if a string on one of their guitars broke, they would borrow the others but not be allowed to restring them.

  • amazing

  • Great Work..

  • @MooshKay, Thanks!

  • I just have one real objection to the whole theory.

While this has more evidence to it than many of the other similar vids, how could a lookalike emulate his voice/writing capability?

  • @Tordah26, That's one of the questions that supports the view that it was all a hoax, or simple nonsense. Thanks.

  • whenever i watch this i get a little creeped out

  • this was very awesome, nice job

  • This is great!! Thanks!!

  • @michbeck88, Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • @michbeck88, Thanks!

  • Now that I've watched it all - must say INCREDIBLE PROJECT! Exhaustive research! You guys are tremendous!

  • @5point0, Thank you very much!

  • Thanks, very entertaining - !!

  • Compelling, however, my opinion is that they played on rumors.

  • The Pin Paul is wearing (9:49 - "awarded by the British army for Heroic Death") is just a common fusiliers flaming bomb, I recognize it as I was a Sgt in the US Army and had occasion to wear the "Flaming Piss Pot" or ordinance Corps Crest of the US Army myself. • @xsugmbrian There was no contest, You will never have that info. Too many people have been smoking and snorting too much crap have a smoked themselves retarded. I would look into research on something less.....umm.......retarded, lol

  • Great informative video; I really enjoyed it. I am always searching for more clues, that clue that will finally open up the locked box of truth. As the musician, cannot think of his name, was singing his song, 'St. Paul', and the screen faded into JPM singing, I burst spontaneously into tears. Did not expect that to happen! Thanks for a great video.

  • @ckblondiee, The artist that was singing "Saint Paul" on that clip was a New Zealand singer named Shane. Thank you for the kind words. I am glad you enjoyed the video.

  • 1977.@ckblondiee I LOVE I MEAN LOVE THE BEATLES AND ALOT OF OTHER BANDS FROM 66 TO

  • Basically you have the Beatles having fun in their post touring days with this. I have no doubt they devised this and saw it through. Perhaps not every single clue, several clues are probably false ones fans "think" are there but aren't. But still, when John says "heres another clue for you all" he's being 100% literal about it. They probably just decided and vowed amongst themselves to deny it to the bitter end.

  • why would macca take his shoes off for that shoot if it was a hot day? That makes no sense.Have you ever tried to walk on hot pavement?

  • it could be that the beatles knew that their fans were always reading into their music and looking for clues and hints for secret meanings to their songs that they decided to go with the whole "paul is dead" rumor and put these hints in there. Knowing that that would raise more interest and bring a mystique feel to the band.

  • on the fool on the hill picture you can also see a headless body in pauls right hand

  • i hear 'i will never see any other way' at 14:20 maybe about the cover up

  • the movie 'yellow submarine' proofs there were 2 pauls and you see it when they sing 'all together now' why on that one song ? coincidence ? i think not

  • @mattlaureys, What happens in during that song that proves there are two Pauls? I'm not sure I get what you are saying the clue is there.

  • @MattHawes Hey, great job on this. It was very informative and at the same time it left the watcher with enough detail to make his/her own mind up about what they believe is the truth. I had a question though. In the vid it goes into detail about strange things that occurred after the hoax got out. Things like the two radio station speakers dying in car accidents shortly after revealing that Paul died. What were you implying by including that? Im just curious because I didnt understand it.

  • @The420Roger, Hi! I was including those things because that was what the radio DJ discussed happening deuring the period that the rumor first began to spread and I thought it was relevant to have it mentioned. I wanted to make sure there was as much information both for and against the claim of Paul's supposed passing for the viewer to come to his/her own conclusions. Thanks for the kind comment!

  • @MattHawes .. so were they murdered in your opinion?

  • @The420Roger, I don't believe so. I think it was truly odd coincideneces in those instances. As far as the whole "Paul Is Dead" thing in general, I tend to lean with the theory that it was all an elaborate prank by The Beatles. To me, there is just too many things that do match up with that idea, but I don't believe Paul McCartney has been dead all these years. I am always interested in hearing or reading other people's opinions or beliefs on the matter, though. Thanks!

  • @mattlaureys at one point you can see 2 paul's

  • Funny thing, after 1967 Paul McCartney starts parting his hair on the opposite side. Odd, right.

  • @yomammascan, That would be about the time Leslie Cavendish started cutting the Beatles hair, too.

  • @MattHawes, Isn't he on the video saying that he'd been Paul's barber before 1966?

  • @yomammascan, in late 1969, when the interview in the video took place, Cavendish tells Alex Bennett he had been cutting Paul McCartney's hair for the past three-and-a-half years, which would be sometime around 1966.

  • Paul 'the bull' McCartney had a few illegimate children.

He paid a woman in Germany child support for her daughter.

Then in the 90s she demanded a DNA test from him. But it didn't match.

She accused Paul of being a phoney, saying his signature was right-handed, not left.

  • @yomammascan, So, a woman accused Paul of fathering her child and the DNA didn't match, so that means Paul is really dead? It means to me that the woman may be a liar that a Beatle fathered her child.

  • @yomammascan

Well, The Who told you that "the parting on the left is now parting on the right."

  • @AdmiralAlbert, The Who didn't tell me anything about it. You can see for yourself in McCartney's photos, after 1966 he parts his hair (or has a natural parting?) on the opposite side of his head!

  • Oh, by-the-by... at 1:09:47 it is not the voice of John Chancellor, instead, it is the voice of David Brinkley... yes, I'm that young ;P

One would also think that, "Yesterday" should have been included as far as lyrical clues are concerned... "I'm not half the man I used to be..."

[ 'Twilight Zone' theme begins to play ]

  • @13DCH, About the John Chancellor/David Brinkley thing; Most sources I checked say that it was Chancellor that made that announcement, but I think it does sound more like Brinkley now that you mention it. I wish that there was a way to check out the video and not just the audio from that newscast. Thanks for the heads-up.

As for "Yesterday" being a clue, the song came out before Paul was supposed to have died according to the details. Thanks for commenting!

  • ...but seriously, the 'White Album', at least to me anyway, was always the one lone LP with thee most freakiest of clues; I actually had trouble going to sleep some nights after letting in these eerie 'theories' occupy m'thoughts... especially with the connection of the Manson family being in the mix as well.

As a side note, I always loved this 'Paul Is Dead' take on, "The Rutles" special, which I first saw on the telly back in 1978.

Nevertheless... loved this upload. Good work, M8.

  • I have a problem with the "It was a hot day excuse" as to why he has no shoes on the abby road picture....If it was a hot day HE WOULD have shoes on right!?!?

  • I find the back masking really chilling.

  • @AVONISION it's pretty strange - also, Ringo was left handed too

  • Exceedingly well researched and put together piece. Really enjoyed it. I'm not a PIDer but I have always been fascinated by the story. Thank you for taking the time to do this.

By the way, I can prove it wasn't the Aston Martin (that wasn't involved in something that didn't happen)..........

  • @MrsVanderbilt, Thank you for the kind comment! I love your user name, too. :-)

  • Go to " paulreallyisdead. com" for an eye-opening recently released DVD that blows this whole mess wide open. Any one interested in this subject must get this DVD!

  • @tjrxk7, You wrote in a comment you have since removed "...What this video failed to say about the 'black rose' on Faul was what Faul had said himself on a tv show one time about that. He said: "We ran out of red ones,so there was a black one lying around on the floor and we used it..." Well, Paul (or "Faul," if youn prefer) is heard in my documenatry saying that excuse starting at the 1:20:35 point. Oh, and "Paul Is Really Dead" is goofy fun, but that "George" soundalike wasn't even close.

  • @MattHawes Must have been by accident. As for the DVD about what George Harrison said,I had the same problem with the voice. I did my own comparison and it was just too close to call. That's not what convinced me. Many other factors not least of which was the comment you yourself heard Faul say about the black rose. Now why on Earth would Faul lie about that except to cover the fact that at the time,John was using all kinds of 'clues' about Paul. It's so elementary,I think most people miss it.

  • @MattHawes In other words, fact: black roses are very rare. Faul's reason for why he was the only one with the black rose was NOT because John was using clues for the album cover {and Faul had no say in the matter of course} but because,as Faul said..."We ran out of roses and that was the only one we found lying around". LMAO That is even harder to buy than John giving clues about Paul being dead! Not to mention Fauls' lame excuse as to why he was walking barefoot on the Abbey Road cover.

  • @tjrxk7, I actually agree those are lame excuses, especially the black rose thing, but I believe it was basically all done as a publicity stunt or a joke, and not that Paul really did die. Still, the fact that people still question if Paul did die is what makes this whole thing so fascinating to me. Thanks for your comments!

  • @MattHawes But what you don't understand is why would 'Paul' not ever say it was a 'publicity stunt'? Or why would he never admit or say it was all a joke. His 'only black rose' thing....they ran out of red ones. His barefoot on the Abbey Road album cover...it was too hot that day and he just walked about barefoot. It does'nt make any sense. Facinating, yes. But every bit as suspicious as facinating because the items that "don't make sense" certainly does not stop there. Glad to respond.

  • yeah, I think the right conclusion is that the Beatles made up the whole thing to sell EVEN MORE records, to boost their fame EVEN MORE, and the measure of success, etc. etc. or atleast just to have fun, and be EVEN MORE creative, since they are after all geniuses, and the fun of screwing with everybodies head.

  • @RubberCustard, I wanted the documentary to be as factual as possible and truly appreciate you helping correct mistakes in that regard. The 1969/70 things was a slip on my part, as I did know the true date. I wish I could correct it without taking down the video (I just now thought about the fact that I can at least add an annotation, though). Thanks again! -- Matt

  • @RubberCustard. P.S. I edited the description to the video to note the errors you pointed out to me. Thanks again.

  • @RubberCustard, Lastly, if you find any other factual errors I made (not errors made by the people speaking in archival footage, but mistakes in my script, or titles) please feel free to point them out. I sincerely would appreciate it. Thank you. -- Matt

  • @RubberCustard, (continued) As for the "left-handed" mistake, well, as you mentioned, that was stated by someone being interviewed (Fred LaBour) and was not stated by myself in my script or on a title, etc. I did not make it a point of correcting what others have said, and in fact I pointed out that accounts on the matter of Paul's death, which includes such "clues" relating to who was left-hande, differ from person to person. That is not a mistake I made, it is a mistake LaBaour made. (cont.)

  • @RubberCustard, The date given on the title for Paul quitting was indeed wrong. It was April 10, 1970, not 1969, as you noted yourself. This was a goof, as I did know the date, and as you claim I even show the newspapers with the correct date in the documentary. Sorry for the error. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. If I ever have a chance to re-edit the video, I will correct that mistake. (continued in my next reply...)

  • @RubberCustard Well if it's a competition it was actually Ringo who quit first. They convinced him to come back then when he came back they broke it off.

  • @RubberCustard The documentary stated that Paul was the only left handed guitar playing Beatle hence the left handed bass guitar on the coffin. Why would Ringo count at all? Hes the drummer.

Also, I think he announced to John that he was quitting The Beatles in 1969 and officially announced that he quit in 1970.

  • @PioneersProductions, At the beginning of my documentary, there is a montage of images and sounds. That montage ends with John Lennon saying "cranberry sauce." That audio was taken from the stripped down track to "Strawberry Fields Forever," where you can hear that Lennon really was saying "cranberry sauce." There are many clues in the hoax that raise an eyebrow, and may be there as a joke, publicity stunt, or whatever. However, that "clue" in "Strawberry..." is not John saying "I buried Paul."

  • i taught at some point there was gonna be debunking of some of the stuff or so called clue, like that opd patch,

but it is more a list of them

  • @lapmarty, I wanted the documentary to be a presentation of the clues, and a clear and concise, and researched story behind the "Paul Is Dead" rumor. As for debunking or proving the rumor true, I purposefully wanted to leave that decision up to the viewer after they knew the story and the details surrounding it. Thanks.

  • @MattHawes will do, be up in a few days!

  • I dont get this Paul is dead thing, theres all a logical explanation for these 'clues'. Paul was a hippo, not a walrus. Which states in his book. The abbey road cover, he took his shoes off for the simple fact ot was a hot day. The black flowers he was holding in the Mystery Tour, they simply ran out of red carnations. They're looking too far into this, half of it is just a coincidence. Im going to be making a video soon on this Paul is dead thing, check my channel in a few days for the truth:)

  • @KHMakeup, Hi! When you upload your video, please feel free to submit it as a video response to my video. Thanks!

  • This is a very good video. It avoids stupid things that have been said before. Things like the idea that the Yesterday and Today cover hold clues to the puzzle even though they came out before late 1966. The key to this puzzle is the framing of the question. The question that CAN be answered is "did someone act as a stand-in for Paul after 1966". The fact that Paul's fingerprints were not a match when he was arrested in Japan for marijuana possession are a telling clue.

  • @dav8d777, It was important to me when I made the video that I would first present it as objectively as possible, allowing the viewers to come to their own conclusions. For the most part, I used only the information that was given during the period the rumor first broke, with most of the clues being those first cited by the college students, radio personalities, magazines, and such in 1969 and 1970. Thank you for watching and the kind words!

  • I just watched The Last Testament of George Harrison, which was good for a few laughs. But this is so much more thorough and often even creepier (which is the best part about the whole subject). But what really makes this doc great is the wealth of footage of important characters actually discussing the rumours. Is this commercially available or just a Youtube project? It's way too good to be just for Youtube.

  • @jowabro, The documentary I made here is not commercially available. I probably couldn't get all the rights issues straightened out to release it like that, unfortunately. I made it for non-commercial purposes to avoid (hopefully) any legal hassles, It was a fun project for me, and I am glad that so many Beatles fans are enjoying it. I wanted it to be as in-depth and based on facts as possible, concentrating on what was actually said when the rumor first broke. Thank you for the kind words!

  • see the last testament of George Harrison for the truth

  • @moondog50002000, It's hard to accept that video as "truth" when the person that is supposed to be George Harrison on tape sounds nothing like George really did. Add to that some inaccuracies, and... well, it is a fun video, whatever the case.

  • Very good video! I don't believe Paul's dead, but there sure are a ton of clues that say so (and if they weren't deliberate clue, then odds of them all happening by chance must be one in a million!)... anyway, it's all quite interesting! :D

  • fascinatingly stirring even 40 years later.

  • 28:00. LOL. Theorists don't even agree. "Paul is dead now" or "Paul is a dead man"? Bullcrap :)

  • @dummytree, Yeah, I intentionally left in the times when people talking about the clues were contradicting each other, or not quite agreeing on what the clue actually was. I wanted to presnt stuff that would go along with both sides of this matter, so others could make their own decision about it as objectively as possible. Thanks for the comment!

  • @MattHawes I don't mean to insult anybody, by the way :) I stopped by because I remember being interested in this, not that I believed in the theory, just because it had become an everlasting story. It was carefully elaborated ,and before internet, you had to figure out by yourself with your own records what other people had heard etc. It was mysterious. It's still interesting to listen to this kind of stuff.

  • Well, everyone will be glad to know that Neil Aspinall, the head of Apple and Paul's close friend throughout has said he wrote a book about his experience with the Beatles, but said he would only release it 4 years after his own death. He died in 2008. They say that 2012 is the "Age of Revealing" so we'll see if he reveals the biggest secret in rock and roll

  • If you want to believe conspiracy theories, I have one for you. John Lennon was the one who sang "I'd love to turn you on" in " A Day in the Life"right? And John really died. Isn't it what this "turn me on dead man" voice predicted ? You can find so-called signs EVERYWHERE.

  • @dummytree, There is a book out that actually does what you propose: It claims that the clues were actually about John Lennon, and foretelling his death. The writer of this book claims that Lennon made a deal with the devil, and knew he only had so much time on this Earth, and that is the explanation given for the clues. It could make for another interesting video, but I will leave that to someone else.

  • @MattHawes I had no idea :)

  • @MattHawes I started to make a video about that subject. But I had technical problems so I will have

to put the project on hold for now. Lennon said, "I sold my soul to the devil" in an interview. That may explain the group's phenomal success and John's premature death.

  • this was fun when i was young. but really, i don't think anyone believes this. i mean, its one thing to try and get someone to look like someone else, but how about harmonize like he did and then to top it off, find someone who could sing LONG TALL SALLY!

  • so an impersonator wrote and sng,`let it be`? wowza!

  • John saying "It's too far out, for us to think of it"....that's just an absurd statement, in itself. Everything John (and the Beatles) did, was far out. I believe they were involved in the occult. It's no secret John & Yoko, were.

Thanks for the examination. Anagrams and rams, love.

  • John saying "It's too far out, for us to think of it"....that's just an a absurd statement, in itself. Everything John (and the Beatles) did, was far out. I believe they were involved in the occult. It's no secret John & Yoko, were.

Thanks for the examination. Anagrams and rams, love.

  • The only thing I ever took away from backward Beatles listening was the phrase "Oh Cindy, you slipped" which, if I can recall, came from "Strawberry Fields Forever." It's the only thing that made any real sense to me if you think about coincedences. Cindy = Cynthia.

  • @kincaide67, First I've heard of this, and a Google search for "Oh Cindy, you slipped" didn't turn up anything to do with The Beatles and backwards masking. What's the story on that reversal, and where did you learn of it? I am genuinely curious. Thanks!

  • @MattHawes I don't recall where I heard it or who told me...might have been a school friend back in the day. But I was wrong with the song title I mentioned. I went back and listened to "Strawberry Fields Forever" again & the only thing I hear that sounds like English is during the chorus - sounds almost exactly like: A pair of sleeping rivers.- whatever that might mean It's on the backward chorus of "Lucy In the Sky w/Diamonds" that sounds remarkably like "Cindy, you slipped."

  • this is the first example ala 2PAC where it was shown that dead artists sell more records, because of the the publics emotional investment in such artists of high stature, everyone flocks to the record store "in rememberance".

when youre in control, you can do anything you want.

If youre familiar with Crowley you'll understand why he's on the cover of SGT.Pepper.

Crowley called himself the beast because that's what they labeled him, he just took it and ran with it.

    GREAT VIDEO THANKS

  • i believe the real Paul McCartney did die in 1966, and the remaining Beatles staged elaborate photos, movies, etc. to sell records and keep you wondering.

  • this was either A: a very very elaborate hoax to sell records and to keep "buying in to the mystery" Like John Lennon said, it's all a con....

or either B: An uncomfortable truth that was heavily guarded by the british government.

with the 3 remaining beatles pretty much threatened to hold secrecy or face death themselves. The Beatles WERE OBE which meant they were valuable to the government (record sales meant government tax=money, to prevent teenage hysteria over pauls death..)

  • I'm not a conspiracy nut or anything, but this was pretty amusing, and very creepy.

  • @prodiggy13, Thank you very much!

  • Have people ever thought about where Paul's white Aston Martin is today?

and if the car is still un-damaged... Think!

  • @TeamMastaPr2 just saw John's Lennon's first car up for auction a blue ferrari ...

  • @shakeexon ok... but, do you know where Paul's car is?

  • @TeamMastaPr2 No i found Johns you find Paul's....:)

  • When I listen to "A Day In The Life" (the ending), I here "Never could see any other way" as in "[Paul was] in a car crash and [he] lost [his] head." That is just my opinion. And also, when you listen to "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club (Reprise)" at the beginning they count. As they say "three", there is a voice in the background that says "You're lying" that implies the 3rd Beatle is dead. And the 3rd Beatle on the album cover is Paul McCartney. Just pointing it out.

  • @michelleannaliese To me It says "bye" because it's the end of the "show". And it's John's voice.

WOW, another theory for ya : is John saying "goodbye" to Paul who's counting ?

Come on people :) No offense :)

  • Well, no I don't believe the dumb theory, but it is dumb in the sense that it is fun. It's like an adult version of getting a decoder ring with your cereal.

There is one thing interesting that I have noticed- it seems that in nearly every group picture, Paul is the ONE guy who is doing something different. Sitting differently, wearing no shoes, not facing the camera. I wonder why.

  • Yeah, he's totally dead...

    Only if we known

  • There's only one way to prove he's not dead and that is NOBODY can do his SCREAM!!!!!!!

  • 6:43 lol
