@ArpeggioBear They don't have to enter ALL past members intt the RNRHOF - when Fleetwood Mac got inducted it was the Rumours lineup plus a few of the blues guitarists. Same with Black Sabbath, that was just the original band, despite success with Dio etc. If DP are inducted it'll most likely be the original band, they might toss Morse a bone and include him. Mk3? Probably not unfortunately. And Satch? He was a fill-in, no way he'll be inducted with DP.

I wish I knew that riff! I got to see Rainbow live along time back. Ritchie was amazing! Yet something was "different". It was days later I read an inteview with him where he said something along the lines of (not a quote); when I play live it is like I am outside my body watching myself.

For me, a riff out of nowhere is "like him"

@TheNewChadSmith According to Wikipedia, three of the band members - Glover, Blackmore, and Gillan - wrote it. You probably know that the band writes almost all the songs they record and perform. Roger Glover probably most prolific. When they were young, Gillan asked Glover how to write songs - and now Ian has probably written hundreds of songs over the years. I love this band!

I think it might be associated with some interwiew he had 92 where he said he would ''rather slit his own throat than rejoin purple'' Although im not sure about that either, it might be both the performance(maybe Gillan himself didnt like it)and the interview combined

As new guitarists rise to notoriety through out the years I still come back time and time again to Blackmore as simply the most outstanding. Many come close but either fall short or cannot deliver on some level that Blackmore can. He may not be the best in every single category but all-round? Sorry but none compare.

Steve morse is one of the best guitar players I ever seen but Ritchie Blackmore is a genius, the way he feel the music and improvise is unique.
