Manchu originally used Han script. Uyghurs conquered the Songdians and adopted Songdian script. Mongols conquered Uyghurs and adopted Uyghur script. Jurchens conquered Mongols and adopted Mongol script. The spoken language is all Turko/Mongol. Only the written word is non-Turko/Mongol. Lacking a written language of their own, they couldnt impose that on the people they subjugated. They could only impose their spoken language.

Through Persia, the Sogdian script came to "China," then through the Uygurs to Mongolians then finally from Mongolian to Manchu.
