I've been doing a lot of research in jungian archetypes, the shadow is of particular interest because i'm writing a story and I want the main character's flaw to be his shadow self but I'm hitting snags here and there getting a good grasp on it so I can accurately portray it within context or exaggerate it slightly.
@Jaegar19Ultima Me Too! Just ask yourself what can be illuminated about me that I cannot see unless it has been exposed by the light of God, my higher self or unconcious dreams but it is there trying to sobotage your dreams and goals. It is not the quest of light but the illumination of the dark that will allow you to find your shadow. Remember it is about going within that you can find your other half.
by saying things like the shadow hase that power only give it that much more power...you are a fool....this guy is only about 65% right untill he starts to talk about the malignet parts of a shadow and how it can hid arround arround a corner and physicly or mentally get you....allowing such fear only give its that much more power so he needs to not talk about it like its a boogie mand and talk about it like its dog capeable of being trained and or be comeing out of controll...
i got attacked by a shadow when i was a child it tried to attack me. It paralyzed me in my bed. It seemed like an adult shadow though i don't think it was mine.
I discovered my shadow before learning it actually existed. It made it's profoundness better when I looked into it. Please refer to Mr. Meldapoe and the Parade of Ghosts on myspace.
Thanks man, I slept in past a lecture about Carl Jung and the Shadow and had to write a paper about it, I am now feeling up to speed on this topic, thank you very much for you insight. Good luck with your shadow, and I'll remain vigilant with mine.
this is probably the best description of the shadow ive seen sense reading sphere by michael chricton. i like how describes the shadow as being where the light of the ego doesnt hit, so that the shadow just wants to be filled in the light. but, i also wish he had explained that the shadow isnt always ur direct opposite, as it can have watever personality it desires, but that it contains all the persona u havent developed
I get scared when I think about my Shadow self. I know you said it isn't evil, but I still feel scared of it; like it might go out of control.
I have had recurring dreams all my life with Darth Vader in it (who produces FAR FAR FAR more fear in my dream world than on the silver screen in real life). I think he might symbolize my shadow self. Wish I knew for sure.
This is excellent. Thanks very much for posting this video - it has helped me. I've been having some bad nightmares and some research helped me identify the character as my shadow. I've started to address some repressed issues and although it's extremely harrowing I think the final result will be to make me a better person.
Wow 5:20 really hit home to me.

I was inspired to research more on Jungs Shadow Theory, after listening to "46 & 2" by Tool. Thank you, this was very interesting and informative.
