  • I punch my dough right in the pan. Then bake 5-6 minutes at 500*

    Unbelievably great pizza.

Thanks for the inspiration. Might make one tomorrow.

  • Holy cow... What type of yeast do you use?!

  • Mr. Yankeeprepper I just wanted you to know how much I like your family. Watching your videos really inspires me to get on making my life better. In life I've been unfortunate with not meeting many people of substance. By just watching your videos of you making pizza and going to the farmers market I can feel the love, you have truly inspired me and I wanted to thank you for sharing your skills and family with a stranger.

  • I use a 12" cast iron skillet and the crust turns out great. Crisp but still soft inside.

  • That pizza looks incredible. I am going to make some this weekend. You are going to miss this pizza night when TSHTF.

  • Love the recipe, now I have to go back and watch again so I can write it down.

I'll give it a try. Thanks.

  • Spinach and ricotta and sun dried tomatoes...mmmmm

  • THis was so cool. My husband is the pizza maker in our house as well. But you over here giving ideas by using the grill instead of the oven. He loves any excuse to get that grill going. lol!

  • This is awsome, have you tried using some flour that you grind from your wheat preps to make the dough? I just made a batch of chili using beans from my preps. First time ive cooked dried beans and not used cans, its different but in the end i think its better, and it is so much cheaper. The pizza looks amazing, going to try making it as soon as i find a pizza stone and board.

  • Your Pizza looks delicious! I make it every week too (make the dough in my breadmaker, but never thought of making it on the grill. Thanks for the ideas

  • Lol your no Dean Martin :p lol This is awsome I'm gonna try it thanks. I've been wanting to make homemade pizza for a long while.

  • Yum

  • My ears hurt!!! LOL

  • Wow! my dough never rises like that can't wait to try it your way this Friday we like hummus on ours in place of sauce sometimes give it a try it's great:)

  • omg i want a slice!

  • that was making me hungry. lol I'm part italoin

  • Awesome!! I just started making my own pizzas with Boboli crusts. You have given me a strong shove toward building the whole thing from scratch! Thank you!!

  • Awesome!!!! More cooking videos please!!

  • I've seen people say their mouth watered watching something. Never believed it, until now, and I'm not really even hungry. I simply can't wait to try this. Thank you kindly.

  • Thanks for the recipe. Made a batch just like in the video with the kids and it was awesome.

  • You should try your basic recipie and add tuna on top. So you have mozarella, tomato sauce, tuna and the add a sh*t load off onion. Delicious, by far my favorite pizza! -Nax

  • MMMMM good pie in Minn A- SOOOOO-ta : )

  • Hey Yankee Prepper..thanks for the recipie. i tried this on my weber charcoal kettle grill on a pizza stone and it worked great.

  • yumm

  • i almost never eat pizza...i just made some homemade pizza dough and it is very good...thanks

  • Great vid...

  • Great Vid! Non-glazed Terra Cotta Tile is the cheapest way to get a good pizza stone. A dollar a tile better than 15- 20 per pizza stone. Also, the stone can be used for the camp fire.

  • might be a little off topic...everything here can be stored or frozen. But, can you freeze cheese or give it a longer shelf life another way? Gonna prep things for pizza. Food and Moral booster. Double bonus!

  • skillz of one handed egg cracking.

  • Great job!

LOL at 3:20 you said "and a third a cup a sugar" Man you really have been hanging around Italians!

Tell me one thing though. Did you buy the chef hat to wear while you do your pizza cooking? It just seems right somehow.

I think I'll put a pizza stone and paddle on my shopping list.

  • You're just a stitch -- loved the singing at the end!! Well, I have the stone but no grill, but I'm thinking I can manage with my oven. I'm definitely going to have to try this recipe. You are SO not helping my (weight loss) diet!!! ; ) But my family loves pizza, so gotta try this. I love the idea of having the frozen crusts on hand. Thanks!

  • @Michigansnowpony Thanks for watching the vid! I know you will like the recipe and I use my oven too, I use the grill when I can because it gives the pizza that woodfired flavor. Cheap, fun, easy and tastes great!

  • @Yankeeprepper -- No need to thank me silly rabbit! I love your vids. : )

  • DAMN that looks great!

  • Oh Yank, I'm gonna try this out! I'm a pizza fanatic. I recently moved from NY to NC and I'm missing my old NY pizza joints. Maybe this will fill my void.....lol

  • @sheba106 I am feeling your pain. There are only three places in the whole U.S. you can get real mouth watering to die for pizza without making it at home NY, Chicago, and San Fransico. I moved from Chicago to Minnesota and had to learn how to make it at home.

  • @Yankeeprepper How you doing after Minnesota's Gov shutdown?

  • @rifleman1002 Besides roadside bathrooms being shutdown and state lottery tickets being halted (which is a tax on the stupid), and coors beer (which sucks) not being able to renew their lic, I could care less. I wish the GOV. would really shutdown. Like cut 50 percent of the BS "services" and stop paying the politicians salaries. The only people the shutdown really hurts are the most vulnerable and the small business owners of Minnesota who rely on tourism. THIS GOVERNMENT SUCKS.

  • @Yankeeprepper You teach the most important thing American's need to know. Self Reliance. So in all, SHTF events will probably happen in sections, and watch as everyone freaks out because they have no clue what to do.

  • benissimo!

  • Do you use your fresh ground flower from the bread video for this recipe as well? I used whole wheat flour (store bought unfortunately) last night and it didn't rise nearly as much as yours. Do you sift your flour? Or use unbleached white flour for this dough? I've made pizza dough before and white flour simply seems to behave better.

  • @noslrac1980

When I make whole wheat bread from the wheat flour that I grind, it take a good deal longer to raise. In fact I have to run the dough cycle on the machine then set a timer for a half hour before baking. You'll have to give it more time to rise. I also add a couple tablespoons of wheat gluten and that helps a lot.

  • that mozzarella from costco is seriously the best. I have alot of stomach issues usually with pizza sauce and cheese but that cheese from costco has like zero extra grease and sits pretty well with me. Your sauce looks like it would too, the trick is all natural and the sugar lowers the acidity big time. thanks for the vid im definately gonna make this!

  • Wow the fresh basil just made my mouth water. I like to use honey in place of sugar.

  • it was a bit cooler this evening. Tried your pizza crust. Fantastic.

  • When you freeze the dough, what to you wrap it in? I'm thinking wax paper and a ziploc bag. What works for you?

  • @trailtreeisland hey buddy! I just put it in a sandwich ziplock and it works fine. You will really like this!

  • After I flatten the dough and shape the pizza, I drizzle Extra Virgin Olive Oil on top and spread it with a brush. When you do this the crust will taste great from the olive oil and will not get too dried out. Just my little tip. Mangia

  • YUMMMMYYYY. Love your video

    Thx for the recipe

    I'm so gonna try it.

    Greetings from Belgium

    Erik

  • @rikkiesix Belgium!!! I will trade you a pizza for some of your beer!!

  • @Yankeeprepper That sounds great. I know you will like it. :-)

  • @rikkiesix ooooh Belgium beer. Yummy with pizza

  • looks great, now i have to call granny for her recipe but that seems very close to what we had growing up with my moms family being all Italian have you ever heard of brier hill pizza, red sauce green bell pepper and graded romano cheese maybe they call it something different where you are but its good

  • hey yankee, have you ever put any oregano in the sauce? it gives it a really yummy taste along with the basil.

  • Well once again you have made me hungry.

    Great vid!

  • Man, I was going to click the "Like" button until you started going all "Dean-Martiny" on me. LOL! Just kidding. Another great vid!

  • Thanks YP.

  • great looking pizza, oh by the way dont give up your day job, just kidding thanks for the vid!

  • Another great recipe Yank, just so you know I tried your flank steak rub, it was great both my wife and I loved it.

  • that, my friend made my mouth water............and I already ate dinner, too LOL

  • i tried you rib recipe and it was great i will be trying this soon

  • hey there YP great recipe thx for sharing it with us one thing u did not mention do u use quick rising yeast in ur recipes?

  • WOW CHECK OUT THE PIPES ON YP!!

  • Funny, Preppers & gardeners are 3 of my 4 favorite sources of great food on YouTube, the other is an amazing pro chef.

  • @omegahpla I believe that a few people out there think a "prepper" is someone with a gun and some MRE's.

But if you can't cook, you haven't got the skill necessary to be a prepper.

  • @Yankeeprepper True dat, seems the talents for Prepping & Cooking go hand in hand.

The guy with the gun, uniform & MRE's who can't cook up some mojo may as well be trickier treating. The best tool you can use isn't in your bug out bag, it's always in your melon.

  • holy jesus that pizza looks incredibly delicious. THANK YOU for sharing, you made me so hungry but i'im going to have to try this recipe soon. thanks again!

  • My wife worked in an Italian restaurant while she was in college in CA that was owned by Iranians...LOL. Really, she can make some killer pizza. Good job!!!!

  • @jimbogu3 Iranians & killer pizza ... hummmmmm

    ; )

  • I was making fry bread when i saw this posted and decided to make pizza as well. Home made is so much better then bought, anytime. thanks for the insperation. and once a person has done it, its faster then ordering out.

  • i personally find that homemade pizza tastes much better than any resturant or storeboughts

  • hey there mate how many ml is one cup?

  • @animalsgod I believe it's 240.

  • Pan that looks good!! Great Video!!

    Thumbs Up my Friend!!

  • you can also freese the mozzarella

  • @ironhead....say it ani't so! Pizza on tortillas! Pizza dough is WAY easier to make than your homemade cinnamon rolls. You gotta try it. Nice job YP...can't beat fresh mozzarella. Love it in a salad with fresh sliced tomatoes, fresh basil, extra virgin olive oil, fresh cracked black pepper, sea salt and a few drops of really good balsamic vinegar. Goes great with grilled meat. I'm starvin'. You and Noreen are killin' me!

  • I need to get cheap, it looks way more tasty.

  • hay looks good im huge pizza fan. here a trick. buy ceramic title from hardware store and season it like any other pizza stone and it works great. and only cost like a buck.

  • @MrSaber152 I pick the stones up in Salvation Army & places like that for a few bucks. Got a big ol slab for three dollars & a round one for 2 bucks the same day a few weeks ago. The one I had broke. I keep it in the bottom of my oven to disperse the heat from the coil. I thought about getting 18" tiles but I never felt good about the glaze getting 650 degrees & the bottom isn't flat. I'm going to pack fire bricks side by side for a floor in the oven I'll make one day, unless I find a better way

  • @omegahpla good call i have baught some sacond hand as well. when i buy tile from hardware stores i get ones without glazing. they are often cheaper and the glaze gets in the way of the seasoning. i forgot to point out buying unglaced. even though i thin it would be safe to use im not sure.

  • Thanks for reminding us to have fun with prepping. I needed the "joy" reminder today.

  • Man Yankee, you sure make great food. I don't even have to taste it to know what you did has to be deliciousness to the extreme. Plus the recipes I made of yours bares it out. I have pizza dough in the freeze as we type : ) I've got a pile of bricks in the back yard by the fire pit destined to be a wood fire oven, never thought to bbq pizza though. We love the pizza we make & yours looks even better, so darn good! so this is valuable stuff man!

Love your yeast explosion lol & that pizza is art!

  • @omegahpla I want to build a brick oven too. It's on the list, but keeps getting pushed back. Have you decided how you are going to build it? Do you have some plans or plans picked put for your oven?

  • @Yankeeprepper researching ovens is what pulled me into Youtube : ) watching hours last winter from mud to brick construction. There is optimal dome angle, size & thickness to hold heat. I have a lot of vid marked to refer to & I plan to improvise as I go working around some parameters from lots of different plans. I'm inventive with a little engineer in my head & developing as I go works for me eventually. My process appears crazy to many lol

I'll share what I've got; vids, ideas, developments

  • @Yankeeprepper I've been looking back at vids & I think a dome shape is best use of heat radiated, tubes are easier. The best shape for support in dome is the best for heat transfer back too. Having a front chimney you can close off that doesn't draw out the top seems best. I think I'm going to shape wet sand & use as a form to lay brick in dome, later pull it out, or you can make wood & burn shell out. All on a base

I'm working out details like forge effect good or not & use with smoke & stuff

  • thanks man

  • Bravo Sir! The second pizza looked like an original style, three colors red, green, white for the Italian flag.

  • Cant wait for Fall. We all get together on Friday nights for homemade pizza. Kids love helping with toppings. Great video.

  • going to try your dough receipe, looks like your dough came out nice.

good work for keeping the kids loving good food!

  • :) ur r haveing 2 much fun there lol

  • Encore! Encore!

  • Love making homemade pizza... I used to work at a pizzeria so I have pretty good technique on this already. Cooking on the grill though that's something I haven't tried ... looks good man thanks.

  • @DigitalSkyline The grill gives it that smokey woodfire pizza taste! Thanks.

  • How do you handle the potential for having a shortage of coal to purchase?

  • @tesskansas lol.....well number one, there are other ways to cook pizza, number 2...I hope you don't mean coal, I am using hardwood charcoal. Which if Minnesota ever runs out of wood, it will probably be the end of the world.

And btw...this was meant to be a recipe, not Survival" pizza. although it will save you some money if money is tight. I am gonna go make a drink now........

  • @Yankeeprepper Yeah someone cooking a pizza with coal would be a deal breaker and I probably couldn't help thinking evil thoughts about em whether I tried to be understanding or not. Worse than putting beer in ice cream. (don't ask how I know the evils of beer in ice cream, not talking)

  • @omegahpla beer in ice cream? or ice cream in beer? lol. Yeah looks pretty simple to make charcoal, just time consuming. I like the actual charcoal that is real not the briquettes .... cost the same but the heat is incredible. 6 or 7 bucks is not too bad for 3-4 cook outs but nothing beats free if you got the time.

  • @DigitalSkyline Heck, pretty easy. I just cook with a fire burned to coals & put it out, pull out the charcoal later. No extra time involved : ). I still like just lighting a fire & burning down better than messing with charcoal. Though I used some today. Also built a small fire over it to speed it up lol. In a place I wasn't even supposed to use charcoal, but food gotta get cooked. My kids b day

Any way you mix ice cream & beer it's evil as far as I know. It wasn't my idea, but I know ... yuk!

  • @Yankeeprepper - Thanks. I do not have an oven (lacking space and utility hookup). I had thought about picking up a grill sometime. Your receipe made me realize some of the possibilities with the grill. Thank you very much. I probably should pick up some charcoal too. I always enjoy your videos! Bravo.

  • @tesskansas well I don't know if this will work or not but I felt like I had to mention it.

I do alot of base camping where I will set up a permanent large camp and then take expedition hikes and hunts for 2 or 3 days from camp. I use a coleman stove setup with an oven top. They have more than a few models for this and they work quite well. Muffins, breads, and pizza. I got my camping oven off of craigslist for 8 bucks.

  • @tesskansas Make your own charcoal out of hardwood. Lol no really, you can, but if you really had to you can just use a wood fire... brilliant!

  • @DigitalSkyline Most of my BBQing I make coals by burning wood. I use my webber once in a while, don't use my gas grill for anything but growing wasp larva for fishing, and usually I just toss wood I trim off my trees in the pit I made stacking just bricks, let er burn down & go for it on the grill I stole out of my Weber or a number of other options I have. If I want smokey I cook it higher over some flames on fruit wood & or walnut ... but you need an enclosure for a pizza, boy it lookin good!

  • Which two arsehats put a thumbs down on this video? Yummy, glad I had already eaten before watching this otherwise I would have been slobbering all over the place. . . nice one Prep

  • @TheOriginalJoeBloggs Thanks Joe!

(the arsehats are my love struck 5th graders.....hell has no fury to a scorned troll....)

  • O yea man looked awesome!!

  • i love good food.

  • Fantastic looking pizza. You're one of a small minority, along with me, People Who Love Anchovy on Pizza. Love the cooking vids. Cooking is one of my favorite things, next to eating.

  • wow it sounded like you had fun while making that pizza some liberal might flag this video

  • My wife and I make homemade spagetti sauce and can it while its still hot. Also works great for pizza sauce.

    Great recipe vids!

  • Me, me, I want some too.

  • you evil man, that looks great

  • dude these videos you do on food make me hungry! I am on a low carb diet and I workout 7 days a week.....its tough....love pizza...but to many carbs for me.....but hey god bless and enjoy prepper.....looks good....I think people in the prepping community are dropping the ball on the best prepping you can do!....prep your body and build strength lifting.....later Yankee

  • @exquisiteinvestment eating a low carb diet while attempting to work your muscles (especially everyday) is a mistake

  • @BearCountry412 hi I am not looking to gain anymore muscle right now I have 20" arms.....just trying to lean down at the moment and have lost 12 lbs this month already....just looking to get ripped.....thanks for your advise

  • @exquisiteinvestment I did short video a while back about staying in shape, it's a good idea, especially for the SHTF but I don't believe it's the best prepping you can do.

I use to work out all the time as well, but now I have alot of guns and ammo, so I have slacked off a bit..... lol.

  • Yum! That one went right into the recipe box. Think I'll add some feta. I love feta on pizzas!

  • your killing me with the food videos lol...LOOKS GOOD!

  • This is the manliest cooking show ever made.

  • excellent...we used to buy the jiffy pizza dough mix in the box........they quit selling it here .....my wife uses now flour tortillas and calls them ghetto pizza's....lol.....

  • @ironhead41 all the stuff you make and you don't make your own pizza dough ironhead? Yer puttin me on!

  • @omegahpla i dont eat pizza, therefore i never make pizza

  • @ironhead41 I was just sayin a guy who makes beer, wine, brandy, can turn a raccoon into a delectable entree, ect, ect, wouldn't have any problem with pizza crust if you wanted to. And you were talking about jiffy dough & ghetto pizza's ... tell me I didn't just have another lighter fluid moment lol. Some times you blow the jokes right past me : )

  • Pizza was the first welfare food, it was flat bread and oil, then tomatoes what ever else was just placed on it and cooked. the vegetables were cut up and placed on the pizza not so much for cooking but to cut away the rotten parts.

Pizza is the staple of my prep, bread olive oil, cheeses, then what ever.

    Good times, and great viedo

  • @socallb652 This is true pizza really started as a poor man's food. Cheap and healthy.

When I lived in IL. , I had a friend that I would get invited over for homemade pizza, he was from italy and he used to talk about how poor his family was and that pizza was a common dinner item. Sometimes just flat dough bread, olive oil and sardines! Very cheap, but very healthy.

  • oh lordy that looks so good!

We love pizza so much we can eat it for breakfast.

  • YUMMO!! We invested in a pizza stone and wooden peel this year as well. It makes all the difference in the crust doesn't it? By the way, great singing!!!

  • Can i come over for dinner on pizza night? lol.. Looks yummy..... even the adult one! hehe :)
