@godzillaman235 download a picture of a rodin statue , print it , then sit the printed 3d statue on a white pillow . put glasses around it . wear white gloves and it will look like its worth 4 millions
@wingnut4427 20 years ? give it just 2 years . everyone will want his own custom made toy . toy companies better make their profit now and plan different ventures.
@doctorcastille At least in an industry where the bottom line is capital accumulation, if mass employment and welfare were a pivotal staple then 3D printing would be used to shorten the work week and provide more creatively complex jobs, not lay them off at the first opportunity.
@worldlearner0411 That's very true, so you need an economic system where mass production with the addition of unmechanised labour is in the interest of not only the consumer but just as importantly the worker.
the tech and work is mind blowing, i may need your services to create a model for moulding, can you assist by simply telling me the materials used and if suitable for starters.
pq será que eu ainda não acredito?!

@cannoir Oh cool. So another industry (the toy industry) can vanish in a few years and take 1000s of jobs with it. Because of pirated toys.

@JakCei In an RBE the full extent of automation would take hold. There would be no working class :)

If you find this remotely interesting, research " Molecular Assemblers".
It's similar in the idea but instead of non-functioning prototypes, you can assemble food, cloths, computers, drugs, basically anything!
And when you are done, you could recycle the parts and use them again to make something else.
jal860 2 years ago
is it strong enough to make something usable? like gears or something with impact?
Plasma08 2 years ago
Some printers use ABS plastic. The models are not functional, it's just for prototyping, proof-of-concept and mold-making.
And the material is expensive.
