Capturing South American music is often about not playing in a too educated way but instead - as you say - with your heart. This lady doesn't need a lecture from me though! :-)
Friendly suggestion: Damp the bass strings with the pad of your right thumb so the "E" and "A" notes don't ring into each other. In other words, play the bass line stacatto. (-:
I was there when she played that, it was at a school in london i believe and i would have been in grade 9 so it was 2 years ago, i've been trying to find this song and player since that day, but no luck. truley a magnificent piece and a wonderful player. loved it then, loved it now, hope to see her live again sometime, wonderful life experience.
You play this well. A good grip on the technique and the sheet music, however, this piece needs a South American jazz feel. If you are near Branson Missouri this year I am the featured solist all of November and December at SDC. I would give you a lesson and some tips if you like.
`I do appreciate your performance;) you're great!. your rendition and technique just blew me away. and these changes of timbre are totally unbelievable!. but I can't notice anything on your face. show more emotions by your facial expression and everything will be perfect;))
i've just started this like few hours ago during my guitar lesson! man this is hard its harder than layenda! all the damping and semiquavers confusses me! thanks this vids a help (thanks for its good quality)
Constructive critiscism here: This song lacks (and begs for) that 'particular' south american expression otherwise one only hears notes. As you known great musicians ought to 'transmit' their feeling to the audience
You are a very good young player. I would like to see a bit more "color" change in the right hand. Your right hand seems to stay in one position through the piece. And possibly some energy phrases with the music. Just a few things I learned from my only teacher - Andres Segovia. Keep up the good work, Jim Greeninger
It's wonderful to see you playing. I met your father YEARS ago in Regina when we both had the same classical guitar teacher and he was a big help to me then (your father, not the guitar teacher... LOL)
its quite an instrument.. its a notch above my rodrigo moriera but has a similar tone..
im practicing really hard to one day become a master too.. what is your most important practice philosophy? i know there is so much to be said but is there any one principal that stands out above everything elsefor you?
Who cares about dampening, that sounds great.

Great Performance. You show a great technique.
However, you need to capture the brazilian persona of the peice. Play with heart... (those runs are waaaay too fast)...

hmm... another fast performance but why so many guitarists can't play that piece with correct rhytm?
good playing though.

@deweget The dynamic contrast was fantastic. Not everyone has to move like Denis Azabagic in order to convey emotion. It's a fantastic performance.
