Secondly, the third baseman needs to be tossed for sure, and possibly the runner if he retaliated to his obstruction. Most leagues have rules against tomahawk swings unless the ball is hit into the air on such a swing. However, asuming that this swing is legal inthis league, that batter is safe at first as he had no foot out of the box (the foot out of the box had not yet touched dirt so he's good there)

A good many high end softball players are ex-minor league baseball players (most of which are AA or AAA). But you're right, they're pussies. softball is just a homerun derby...i know there are rules that play against hitting homeruns left and right...but even you avid softball players will agree...it's a hit parade...i love watching a pitcher run shit, that's more of a sport in my opinion... where it isn't so one-sided in the favor of the offense

I once thought that people that played softball had no skills and that the sport was a joke. I'm here to tell you, it's a lot harder than people think. Hitting .800+ consistently isn't easy. Neither is hitting .400+ consistently in baseball (College or higher levels).
The 2 games are different and should be treated as such. I love both equally.

The USSSA Rule Book states that the batter is out if he deliberately chops or bunts the ball. (Rule7,Sec. 2-c)
IMO, the batter was deliberately trying to tap the ball slowly on the infield, so he should be out. But it is a judgement call that a lot of officials get wrong because they do't know, or don't see it happen a lot.
@notso20 Swing was level in my opinion. I don't know why the ump was making a chopping motion, but the batter didn't chop at it. He should have been out when he left 3rd base tho, lol.

I currently own a 12,000 square foot hitting academy teaching over 300 hundred kids a year. But yea you are right i dont know anything. Search in youtube "the proper way to hit a baseball" and you will see how real men do it. And yea i am fat now so save that comment if you reply back.

The USSSA Rule Book states that the batter is out if he deliberately chops or bunts the ball. (Rule7,Sec. 2-c)
IMO, the batter was deliberately trying to tap the ball slowly on the infield, so he should be out. But it is a judgement call that a lot of officials get wrong because they do't know, or don't see it happen a lot.

I have watched a team called vacances transat play at disney world a few times. They always play in the upper/elite division. They usually go 0-3. Not sure if it is the same team but they always get smoked by some florida boys.

Wow ! I mean I love softball, but in New Zealand people fight a lot in Rugby. Recently, seven high school students got suspended for breaking out into a fight during a semi-final North Island championship game. It would be understandable if these guys were playing a CHAMPIONSHIP game, but they're not. So this fight is pointless and about PRIDE. Stupid >:(
