Those are some special Earplugs (the three of them use these ones) in order to hear the concert. I mean, Dom hears a metronome (to know the tempo of the songs) and the mixed instrumental and voice. The same for Matt and Chris, but these 2 hear more loudly their own voice in order to sing fine.

If you need more detais you can ask another question, I'll try to answer.

I'm not related to MUSE Staff, and it's the same for all bands (including mine).

As much as i LOVE Matt's badass guitar play and powerful piano solos, there's nothing better than his love-song voice here in Endlessly and also Unintended. It's a close race between my many favorites--Bliss, Uno, Cave, Space Dementia...........

@Mr6hero9 i need cancell your last reply their secure ear plugs because on stage the soung level can be 125 decibels and the car can only take 90 so those are to essentially keep them from going death. it's also true that it can be so loud you can hear your self but i think their are ground floor amps that put the sound in their direcrtion the only case i would know of headphones being neccessary is if the band use syne as they can't be timed as if your holding a guitar you decide when it plays

@Mr6hero9 They are in ear monitors, When playing live at high volume its hard to define each individual instrument, these allow a custom mix of each instrument and vocals into their ears to get a better sound and clarity

@Mr6hero9 yeah basically what everyone else is saying, to here when he comes in and helps to play the song more accurately. Also it will let them know when the next song begins, so when they improvise inbetween they all come back to the song at the same time ect.

@Mr6hero9 It's a in ear moniter :) for songs with wierd guitar settings ect they have a click track going through them to keep in time. You can hear what goes through them as there is mp3's on muselive on the 2nd wembley gig in ear moniters :)

@coco14840 The drummer can hear the rest of the band... however he sometimes might use the large over-ear headphones to reduce the volume impact of the drums, to reduce hearing damage, but also have the music playing through them to hear the band well.

that's not 100% true, they're in ear monitors. So they hear the music exactly as it is played. There's a slight delay otherwise which would make them play out of sync with eachother.
