On one situation, only female members would inherit it. Thus matt would be human, but any female daughters he has would most likely be NOT human.

On other situations(when there are both incubuses and succubi in lore), Matt would be an incubus.

I think they may have been trying to establish Kelly Donovan as one of those Malach creatures from the books. Maybe they're going for the whole "not the real Kelly Donovan" sort of storyline. I hope they bring "her" back soon and pick this strange turn of events up from a different angle.
