IRL When u are shutting down a cessna, you always turn of the avionics first, then mixture - when the engine has come to a complete stop you can turn of the magnetos. In that way you ensure that all the fuel in the engine is burnt up. After that you can turn of the alternator and battery.
But i thats not necessary to point out in the video as its for the PMDG, so as i said awesome video, thanks for posting, it helped me a lot! :D
@wezpaa Thanks a lot sir! : ) Once again though, I do know what I did in the video, it's just to get the PMDG cold and dark. I'm actually a PPL in training right now and when I train in fs I obviously am more realistic with my procedures for the cessna and other GA planes (I actually am training in a Piper Warrior : p) Thanks a lot sir!
you can't start the APU without the front middle-right fuel switch on, this is the tank that feeds to the APU. regardless of whether you have GPU on or not, the APU us still a mini-jet-engine. it needs fuel to it to start correctly. I'm not being sad, but its kind of a necessity...
@boeingdude99 i hate to say it mate, but a PMDG 737 aint exactly an actual plane, and you didn't switch on ANY of the fuel pump switches, so that kind of blows your argument right out of the window... now i'm not a hugely pedantic man, but it's like starting the engine of your car without turning the key...
@ChrisMiller1994 once again, I made this over a year ago when I was an average user of this plane, I have read mike ray manuals, and many other things, and I am a pro now I just keep this video up for the views and what not, because it is a simple startup tutorial that actually helps some people. But for u pain in the behind people my last year average skills aren't good enough. Perhaps instead of me making a new updated one u should Mr. Miller?
@ChrisMiller1994 Haha go ahead buddy, I know I could make an a lot better one than with my skills from a year ago. I'm thinking of making a 757 tutorial because I've been using that forever it's my plane! haha
@boeingdude99 haha, i've never managed to get used to the 757, in essence, its pretty much the same as a 737 but i suppose you could say the 737NG is my plane... :L
negative csapilot1 the crew may elect to start the APU just before startup but its recommended you do start up the APU right away because you need it to get the A/C going and pressurization
Yes sir of course I know that, this is a basic start up procedure, I would appreciate it if you and others would read the description before you leave comments trying to educate me on stuff I already know. Sorry if I sound angry, I'm not, just kinda irritated how many of how many people do the same thing.
Yes sir you are very much correct, but once again this is a basic startup tutorial, I did not go through realistic procedures and everything just how to start the engines. If I wanted to be realistic I would've done that and I wouldn't put as much fuel, and a numerous other things.
Try FSpassengers. It has all the cabin announcements and other cool things. Also it adds some "challenge" to your flying as you have passengers to keep happy.
i thought engines were left to right but anyways this was a great help Seems really easy to start a 737NG real or simulation if everything is done step by step
Different airlines/planes have different starting procedures. So you can do either or, it doesn't really make a difference in a simulation. And yeeah glad I can help out : )
Yes sir I know that lol I did this so people can get cold and dark fast and not waste several minutes explaining what to do to get a saved cold and dark flight, you know? Thanks for your concern though and I hope u enjoyed the video : )
Once again someone who doesnt care to EVER look at the description!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sick of this, I will explain it one more time. This is a BASIC tutorial on how to start it up fast. I never said in my description which you coincidentally never read that this is realistic procedures. This video is for new pilots trying to get this bird in the skies. I KNOW ALL ABOUT APU BLEED AND WHAT PUMPS STAY ON AND OFF. I am not gonna waste a minute of video time waiting to turn on APU BLEED.
I am only a kid. I think its amazing I was able to even put this together. For the future, READ THE DESCRIPTION OF EVERY VIDEO YOU WATCH BEFORE COMMENTING. It's very irritating when people don't read the description. Thanks for watching.
Learn and improve myself? Dude I've been flying this for over 2 years. I know this plane inside out. I don't think you can read. If you read in my last two responses to you I said I KNOW ALL THE REALISTIC PROCEDURES. You didn't teach me a single thing. Why the heck would I choose to put realistic procedures in my BASIC startup tutorial when people who watch this barely know a switch in the plane???
I also fly the 757 and 767 very well and realistically but if I posted a tutorial video on how to start it I wouldn't go into every realistic procedures. See ya..
thank you so much you helped me a lot for the 737NG please can you help me for the 747PMDG if you can't no problem a enjoyed you tutorial of the 737NG hope you can help me thanks a lot
No problem I love to help people. I would love to help you with the PMDG 747 but I don't fly it too much. I fly the LDS 767 PSS 757 and many other planes but not this too much. Once I get more experience in the 747, I would love to help you! If you have any problems or questions I would absolutely love to answer them. See ya!

In a Cessna 172, pull out mixture than turn off mags rather than mags first, happy flying :)

Not too bad.
One thing you might not have picked up in your reading - you don't put fuel in the center tanks unless the main (L&R) tanks are full.
Nice work.
SpinBoldak 2 years ago
Yup I always do sir. I never fill in all equal including center when I havent filled in the whole wings! Thanks for the comment!

I saw you made a few mistakes:
-Fuel valves all the time open.
-When starting AFT pump1 must be on.
-In reallife the Enginebleeds stay on whole the time.
-APUbleed is pushed on 1minute after switching the APU genetators on.
But all with all a nice video.

why dont you just shut down everything in the PMDG itself to get it cold and dark
DayJetFan 3 years ago
Good question, it's a lot easier to get it cold and dark so you don't make a mistake shutting everything down haha.
