@Veripondia You should look into Znamenny chanting. They are uniquely Russian chants, but composed in a manner more similar to the Greek and Arabic chants, since they're from before Western music began to influence Russia.

The church is strong today even in the face of persecution. Just last year gunmen opened fire in Coptic Church in Egypt during the Christmas Mass, killing and wounding many. @MrExorcist7 Don't be an ignorant prick. Arabic Orthodoxy predates Islam, as does the usage of Allah as God. God is Theos in Greek, and Allah in Arabic, every language has their version. Muslims use the term God in English when referring to their Allah, as well. The word Allah comes from the Aramaic, the language of Jesus, word for God which was pronounced very similarly, are you going to say that Jesus was a Muslim, too...?

@Veripondia You should look into Znamenny chanting. They are uniquely Russian chants, but composed in a manner more similar to the Greek and Arabic chants, since they're from before Western music began to influence Russia.

@OneHolyTrinity This is from a church in Lebanon. In the vid description..song by Father Nicolas Malek.
It is very common in Lebanon to have priests write their own prayers/songs and lead the choir. The title of the prayer is Praise God for he is good something something.. sorry you would think that after living there for 13 years you would understand it all. Guess not.

@RabMaksim It is truly a blessing. I myself am Coptic Orthodox. We and all Egypt were converted to the orthodox faith in the 1st century through the evangelism of St. Mark the Gospel writer. The church is strong today even in the face of persecution. Just last year gunmen opened fire in Coptic Church in Egypt during the Christmas Mass, killing and wounding many. Not even one month ago, a Coptic Church was blown up by a suicide bomber in Alexandria killing 22 Copts. Pray for the Coptic Church

That's not right. Allah is the name of the god of Islam.
The word "god" is translated to "rabb" in Arabic, not "Allah".
Allah is a name, it's the same in English or Arabic. But the word "god" or "rabb" is not a name. When a person prays to their god, they pray to the god they believe in. Just because the person speaks Arabic, does not mean that their god is called Allah.

@MrExorcist7 Don't be an ignorant prick. Arabic Orthodoxy predates Islam, as does the usage of Allah as God. God is Theos in Greek, and Allah in Arabic, every language has their version. Muslims use the term God in English when referring to their Allah, as well. The word Allah comes from the Aramaic, the language of Jesus, word for God which was pronounced very similarly, are you going to say that Jesus was a Muslim, too...?

@MrExorcist7 I don't think you got it. Jesus spoke Aramaic. God is Elah in Aramaic. The Lord is the shepherd of people who speak other languages as well. God himself brought upon different languages after the Babylonians tried to build the tower of babel. Guess what, they didn't have English back then. English wasn't even around when the Bible was written. Just because Muslims use the same word as Christians, doesn't make the word mean something else for a Christian.
