For one thing, I have been doing research on dubbed singings voice for over 20 years and can promise you that is Bonnie Lou Williams' voice. That was also her last dubbing credit. To hear sing exactly like this again, check out TALL MAN RIDING (55) in which she sang for Peggie Castle. In her autobiography, Virginia Mayo clearly stated that she couldn't sing. And you would not believe the 100s of films in which actors were dubbed for their singing that you won't find anywhere.
@CineKarine OK, only wanted to be sure, if you have made all these researches, including checking the kind of voice (this is the kind of test I wanted to ask you), I guess you are right, and so now I add you specification to the subtitle of this page. Thanks!
That was Bonnie Lou Williams singing for Virginia Mayo again, as she did for all Mayo's singing roles at Warner Bros. Mayo was self-confessed non-singer.
This is great. I found this song while watching a western show. I'd like to know who else sang this very song but with out the grumbling men in the background. I'd like to hear her alone.
This song, written by Wayne Shanklin & Leonard Rosenman, I've only heard in this version, just like is sung during the movie. It is not indicated in the beginning credits, nor I think another Virginia Mayo's version exists.
