  • i love this kick but its wronggggggg,

you have to have both your knees next to eaother untill the last second than hit your heel against his chest or belly, this man is swinging his leg this is less effective

  • i love this kick

  • In teakwando when doing this kick I was tought not to whip your head over the other shoulder as it gives away the kick and gives the opponent more time to react

  • this is actually used in TKD haha

  • @WoodyVagina yup

  • I have seen a lot of training videos, and I can easily say, that expertvillage uploads the shittiest, low level videos. The fighters usually don!t defend themselves while showing the moves, their defense is down. Seriously, you should learn it, before trying to teach it.

  • If its not muy thai then why the fuck r u teaching it.

  • that was incredibly useful, expert village ACTUALLY helped for once! *GASP*

  • Anyone notice that a lot of kicks overlap martial arts? Only slight adjustments seperate them.

  • @fredbloggs02 there all form of martial arts.

    thats what everything falls under.

and that kick is from tak won do

  • is mouy thai a type of kickboxing? or is it something seperate?

  • @terracerocks121 muay thai is a sepreate fighting style but is catorgized into kickboxing. they use knees elbows and kicks more then punches and work knees and elbos in the plum(muay thai clinch) with two hand behind the neck

  • We learned this in TKD for a Green Belt test it's just called a back kick.

  • that what i was ganna type LOL

  • jackandmeg2001........lol.......dumbass

  • umm not to criticize or anything but do you know why these kind of kicks is not usually used in muay thai....it's because these kind of kicks lacks power in delivering damage to muay thai fighters who are trained to have hard bodies that are ready to absorb attacks using knees and elbows but one good thing this kick has is its fast and unexpected... its often used as an opener for a stronger attack not really wat you would call a finisher

  • actually that kick does have alot of power momentum wise ive seen ppl get the wind knocked out nast over just that kick.

  • i doubt that someone could do the spinnig demon, in karate,

  • your a fukin dumb ass this kick i use in kickboxing , say ur opponent came rushing at you if you did the kick correctly you would knock him down or at least wind him TRY IT!

  • Finally someone who can beat anderson silva and Lyoto Machida! After all those guys use this worthless kick, but that must be because they are not very good martial artist. I gotta tell you jack, I feel sorry for meg. What a know it all, condescending schlong.

  • Most worthless attack I've ever seen. Look, it's good in theory, catching your opponent of guard by sorta "faking" him out, dropping your defense, but at the end of the day, any good martial artist would NEVER turn his back to an opponent. It's just ridiculous. If you opponent is that poorly trained to be duped into that situation, he's obviously stupid enough to go with anything, really. Adding complexity is just pointless. Take a look at Jeet Kun Do, for example - unorthodox, but effective.

  • yeh the kick is worthless even though anderson silva constantly uses it when he defends his mix martial arts championship

  • You seem to know nothing about the spinning back kick or of fighting. The spinning back kick may be quite hard to execute at first glance, but with proper practice it turns out to be a good weapon.

And, if you turn your back quick enough that your opponent can't even catch up, then its not worthless. Or are you saying that Cung Le is not a good fighter, and that Sanshou and many other martial arts are worthless?

  • I am an instructor in several forms of Martial Arts and have achieved (as my highest rank) rokudan. I know quite a few are more skilled than me, and I appreciate that I don't have complete knowledge, but I can tell you that I have never experience an effective spinning kick in years of competition and mentoring. It leaves you wide open, gives your energy a sideways momentum (making it easier to throw off balance by transfering third stage momentum), and is just generally ineffective.

  • What you said is quite true, the spinning back kick does (or can) leave you open to receiving a takedown or making one go off balance. I am amazed that you haven't seen a good spinning back kick in high level competitions.

I guess fighting is just as the law of nature. You have to be fast than your opponent to win.

  • I've seen good kicks, but the technique in-and-of itself is just very...well, useless, I think. If executed right, it can be effective with low level fighters and when the opponent is tired out, but why risk it? At that point, there is so much more you can do, it seems like it's all for flash. I dunno, it seems like Martial Arts has become something to show how rather than be revered. The most simplistic and functional is the most beautiful, and flourishes just...I dunno. I'm crotchety, lol.

  • Watch some mma

  • Hahahahahahah,

    jackandmeg2001, you loser,

Do you even watch UFC,WEC, WCL, or any type of MMA?

Hahaha, you have no idea what youre talking about!

This is a good kick, and most famous fighters use it. To knock people off balance, or to wind them, and it works.

  • ... :0

when the fuck did a gun get involved in this?

Its Muy Thai you lying gay fuck, not Krav Maga.

Its used in the octogon, not a fuckin barr fight

  • Somebody never passed basic reading and comprehension in school. As I said earlier, "it seems like Martial Arts has become something to show [off with]". If you judge how effective a technique or art is by how cool it looks and how many famous people use it, obviously you have no place in Martial Arts. The Arts in any form should be judged by use of energy, fluidity of motion, effectiveness of strike, and effectiveness of guarding.

  • ...Its obviously very effective if people use it in the octogon and win fights, isnt it?

  • haha

  • @Curatalo506

Dont remember the last time I've seen anybody have a muay thai match in an octagon.

  • @TheSnaggletooth Ive only seen 2 in an Octogon, and they were in Japan. But I was speeking of Muay Thai for MMA.

  • @Curatalo506 muay thai* and to all the other dumbfucks who dnt know how to spell it. haha muy mouy u guys make me laugh

  • @piggyoats101 Its funny a dumbfuck would call somebody else a dumbfuck. Its called Muay Thai in thailand, written in Thai, not English. It just sounds like Muay Thai in English. In different parts of Thailand, they say it differently. Lick my asshole. Victory

  • @Curatalo506 well it can be used in bar fights any fighting form can ...

  • yeh but this is a vid 4 sparring dickhead :P i dont think guns are allowed

  • you're right dude perfect example......david loiseau vs charles mccarthy.awesome spinning backkick which ended the fight!!!

  • oh and it rooted from taekwondo but da taekwondo one is a little different.

  • u guys are stupid dum fuks. dat kick originated from Taekwondo and is the one of the most powerful kicks. the whole point of kicking is spinning and sacrificing ur defence becaus its like a trap. some ppl will go "he's off gaurd i should kick him" but in order to kick u need to move closer and the moment u do that WHAM!!!!believe me, dat kick is more devastating then any muay thai kick cuz iv seen it with me own eyes almost kill some1!!

  • agree with hulkout66!! ppl dont use it in MMA, muy thai or K1.....

  • your heaps tuff hulkout666

  • its better to hold there hand when your spinning for the kick

  • my instructor calls ait just a spinning back kick?

  • The spinning back kick is like a disease! Once people learn how to do it, they obsess over it and try to throw it every chance they get! It's useful if someone moves to your blindside, but facing someone head on and puropsely turning your back to him is just fucking idiotic!

  • It's a counter kick. Reverse turns are very common knockout techniques in TKD matches. Use the turn to evade a front kick and you'll see why it's worth practice.

I would never use it as a lead (I know what you mean) and I wouldn't try it against someone who seems punch-happy either.

  • Ur fukin retard. if it works it works. to automatically assume u use it to often makes u a retard. i use this move all the time. it creates space between u and the opponent. the real tricks is recovering once the kick is thrown. u dont stay there. u throw it fast and recover fast u use it right u wont get knocked out

  • Bo you are a fucking retard, you dumb shit! It may work against some stupid fuck who doesn't know what the hell he's doing. But anyone who knows what he's doing will move in and jam you. I've done it many times before when I sparred against TKD idiots. It's so fucking telegraphic. The guys you fight with must be pretty useless if you use it all the time.

  • Anything done multiple times and overused will be capitalized on, dont' pretend you said something ground breaking. This kick is a good kick and does a lot of damage due to the muscles used to deliver it, some of the biggest muscles of the body. Look at Sakuraba and Yilmaz who use this kick well. There are kicks that leave you more open than others but I'll still use on occasion. Two kicks I still use are back kick, and spinning heal kick (check Ramon Dekkers and Yilmaz again).

  • One last thing that needs to be said. Being unorthodox has its advantages. Using tools your opponent dont think you will use, wins matches at times too. Showing your back is used in other moves as well. Spinning back fist comes into mind. Also, following through on a missed roundhouse shows your back. So if anyone is fighting with "useless people" it seems to be you and your TKD friends. Good luck on your training and learn to think outside the box, otherwise you won't make it far.

  • Lol I keep missing too. Now I know how not to miss.

  • hey wana have fast hand punches ? like 5 punches in 1-2 sec? conctact me and i will show you how

  • Will it cost us anything?

  • ive seen this kick alot in mma

  • lol so many ''uhh's''!!! lol

  • lol yeah i know uhh. lol

  • Its a deceptive move, it has very little telescope. If its done right you would have very little time to react.

  • If someone used that movement on me, I would just move backwards or I would catch his leg.

  • If done at full speed, catching that kick my break your bones.

  • **might

  • then kick boxers wont exist.. if all of them broke a bones in single kick..lol.. its dengerous to cach a kick but bones it to hard to brake.. its happen sometime

  • no dont move backwards move sideways
