  • To Phil Spectors' bro., ... EditorBPress... If Spector was a genius, he would not pretend his wife was a star. He saw the talent, and exploited it.

  • Untucked, men's white dress shirts, fishnet stockings, and white go-go boots.... oh, wow. Why did that look ever go out of style?

  • lol 2:25

  • shit

    I expected Motorhead

  • Just precious !

  • I love my Mom but I'm totally jealous that THIS WAS THE MUSIC she listened to growing up!!!!

  • Great sound - no idea why anyone would consider Ronnie's voice 'mediocre.' Still sounds fresh and unique after all these years. Wall of Sound was created before the Ronettes and Spector stifled a great talent.

  • bella

  • i was born at this time... when i hear it I travel in time.. I forget present time ( and troubles ).. lovely that music have this effect..

  • @iak50 +1

  • Hot!

  • 2:19 aww they're having a good time!

  • omg all those screaming hahaha XD

  • @Paris16273212

And so many today think that teh gay was invented sometime in the early 1990s....

  • @krakenwave I bet even cavemen were gay

  • Much better sound here youtube.com/watch?v=CiwbabGKwjM&feature=related

And this is not spam -_-

  • Definitely not the best up-load of this song. Need the original version. BTW, too bad she married the SOB!!!

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Phil Spector is a psycho... but also a genius ;)

  • @kespar75017 There is a fine line between mentally chanllenged and a genuis. At times it's difficult to tell the difference.

  • the crapiest is in the middle...

  • @pannini96 and forward

  • its a crapy sound, and i dont know what to think about this music, i got forced by school :( I think its sad. i like rock, so i dont really want to listen to this, help me someone!

  • @49kasey I suppose you're right, but I do remember every adult I knew felt the same about my generation and our music back when I graduated high school. So I try not to be hopeless, I'm old! LOL

  • Simply fantastic- The black kids today in particular should take note of the incredible talent this and many of the black singers/groups from this era had. They sang great songs with beautiful harmonies and lyrics....no tlike the barrage of obscenities from today's so-called rap and hip hop trash.

  • Hah. Everyone is wearing clothing. Even the dancers look modest compared to today's...interesting.

  • @nptexas1 Why not just say it. It's all gone to hell and getting worse every day and there's no turning back.

  • Legenda. Ale pěkná.

  • Only the best Ronettes video EVER!!!!!!!!

  • Brilliant! And in black and white. Fantastic.

  • One of the greatest songs of its era. I can't stop hearing it in my mind since I found this video. I always loved this song.

  • I miss this music

  • dirty dancing brought me here bc that is the best movie why cant we have music like this now

  • I smile with her at the 38 second mark

  • They're gorgeous!!

  • Quadrophenia <3

  • Timeless classic

  • be my little baby yeaa.....lovely song!

  • Phil Spector has serious psychological difficulties, but the man was a genius. He created a whole musical idiom (the "wall of sound") to cover up the fact that his wife, Ronnie, had a voice that was mediocre at best. She wanted hit songs. He got them for her, and gave us an even greater gift--music that seems to fill every nook and cranny of consciousness.

  • I dont think her voice is what sold her.

  • @starboardbeat

I quite agree, and that's exactly my point. "Something other than her voice" sold her to Phil Spector, but it was also Spector that created a sound that made her voice at least palatable.

  • @EditorBPress What are you talking about she's a fantastic singer and Phil Spector is a repulsive person, if talented.

  • Only Ronnie Spector actually sung on the recordings of The Ronettes, Nedra and Estelle had no input, it was all recorded with session backup singers

  • god, why i wasnt born in that time??? now I have to hear shits like gaga and other stuf!!

  • @pfb04 don't we all .. it's the most pointless thing though :P

  • @pfb04 Lady gaga makes GAG

  • @pfb04 I actually don't have to hear her songs, since I don't listen to the radio or watch any music channels.

  • @pfb04 I agree

  • @pfb04 ur a little shit gaga rules birch deal with it #bigtuff8thgradrout

  • @MriluvJordanJansen you're the little shit to call someone that when it's just someone's opinon

  • @MriluvJordanJansen face gaga sucks she is just shit her only good song is born this way and she cant even make a video without making it inappropriate or wierd she a waste of shit she ruled back then when she wasnt famous now she sucks

  • Great video, thanks.

  • I Love You Veronica, Be My Baby.

  • Tosi mestarit asialla, tytöistä on tullut kypsiä naisia.

  • This looks like the TAMI show but I have the DVD and they're not on it. Where did this clip come from?

  • @83zzw83 The TAMI show. If your dvd doesn't have this it you don't have the complete one.

  • @ostrich67 I just checked. This is actually the 'Big T.N.T. show' which was similar to the TAMI show but it's not on DVD.

  • Great video, wished the audio was too. Thanks for posting.

  • 2:21 I wish people still did this.

  • They were good performers. They were loved for sure.

  • la positiva...

  • i guess it seems likely for 137 people to accidentally hit the dislike button. they should show this video in every history class. and just look how much chuck loved it at the end there!

  • 137 bieber fans

  • Thanks for posting that. What a trip to see them. be my baby is possibly the greatest pop song of all time. Whatever a **** Phil Spector was, he gave us that classic. Hold old is Ronnie here?

  • @willrothfuss About 23 or so

  • probubly the only one here who thought about wonder girls' "be my baby"

  • This is a vanguard piece of transisitional music in 1963. Can you hear the impending British sound making it's way into American POP?

  • todays music its all bs!! this is music

  • @azulkremadf Right. Music today is a mating between a Bull Terrier and a Sitz-zu, meaning "Bullshit"

  • A fantasy duet would have been Ronnie & Elvis.

  • :-) And nobody has understood a presenter even Kurt Cobain told you we have to agree on or you both ... :-)

  • cuanta musica buena he descubierto gracias a youtube!

  • @leprosarina08 ... Y lo Q te falta...

  • Great stuff more then today.

  • Phil Spector had very little regard for singers. He figured he could plug anyone in for the vocals and they'd sound good riding on the wall of sound.

  • I understand Phil Spector went ape-sh*t after this performance. He apparently didn't appreciate the liberties Ronnie took here. Personally, I think it added something, but either way, one can't expect them to go out there like robots. That would get old in no time flat.

Great job, girls. Rest In Peace, Estelle.

  • I love the background dancers. I tell my friends all the time, white people used to dance back in the early 60's, I don't know what in the hell that shit they are doing now that suppose to dancing?

  • wow... i love them so much

  • Prelude to Tina Turner, Got to love those Maoist outfits also

  • check out the cover by The Millionaires

  • Phil Spector married a prize woman.

  • The Wall of Scream

  • good song

  • RIP Amy Winehouse - she loved The Ronettes. The image, stage performance, attitude, singing style.

  • @pmattu

Too bad she didn't have the class!

  • @exclusiiveBRAT I think she is glad she isn't dead by Phil Spector's hand.

  • THe energy from these girls is incredible. And yet there's an audience full of zombies HAHAHAHAHAH I wish I'd been there. I would have jumped up on the stage with them

  • had she married phil spector by this time? this was one of phil's first big "wall of sound" productions. i used to think ronnie's a-wo-wo-wo-wo was the sexiest thing i'd ever heard.

  • @boyhowdy364 Yes, she was married to him at this time. And he let her have it on this performance because she didn't do what they did at the dress rehearsal. I think Ronnie did a fabulous job working that crowd. And Nedra and Estelle were great too. I hope they put this out on DVD! The TAMI Show just came out on DVD last year so hopefully this won't be far behind

  • i love these days were music was about touching people`s soul and not their brains.

  • you dont get performances like this anymore

  • Look at all of the old people here who think it's cool that they're older than young people.

  • @Likety They are cool

  • @Likety That's because they are. You had to be there to understand.

  • this true

  • Oh wow. These girls can actually produced a remarkable performance without the help of lip-syncing trick, auto-tune, special lightning, being half-naked, etc. This was done by just a mere microphone and pure talent. Astonishing.

  • Comment removed

  • @blizzaroxx actually they have half naked back up dancers, this was very much a teen/sexualized phenomenon

  • @blizzaroxx Actually the intention was to let them sound rough and not very good. Ronnie decided to take a step further and Phil Spector the producer and songwriter and husband was mad as hell.

  • @blizzaroxx They were lip syncing for be my baby, they wouldnt`ve got on television if they were half naked, the technology wasnt there for special lighting and auto tune hadnt been invented

  • @blizzaroxx ..Rock and Roll used to be fun...I know..I was there at the beginning...My first record was Whole Lotta Shaking..and it was new when my Aunt Joanne gave it to me

  • @blizzaroxx Sure, just neglect the two dozen half naked girls on the back of the stage. I agree with you but still..

  • @Gressethegreat You have a very interesting definition of half naked.

  • @priorb yeah...what must they think of the Rockettes...???

  • Are they white? They look somewhat ethnic.

  • @soulfulvee Are they white? Hahahaha they are black! Its the lighting google them up and see what they look like now. You'd see 3 dark women

  • @teewoods LOL, I honestly couldn't tell. If anything I thought they were mixed.

  • they were the almost the only band those days who really had an adorable show...other stars were just standing there and were singing their songs...but these girls really put some feelings in this song..you can see it by the way she smiles and act =)

  • free phil spector!

  • this is phil spector...and nobody else...

  • *-* I love this song.

  • Poor vid, but excellent music from my teenage parties.

  • what a classic

  • As music has changed over the years, from Big Band &Swing in the 40's to now, I have to say, those of us lucky enough to have grown up in the 60's & 70's were blessed with some of the best music ever. Im so proud I have great memories from those years. I was born in '59 so some of the 60's music I didnt get into until later, but man oh man, what a time we grew up in. Classic music & class acts!

  • The night we met I knew I needed you so And if I had the chance I'd never let you go So won't you say you love me I'll make you so proud of me We'll make 'em turn their heads Every place we go So won't you please Be my little baby Say you'll be my darling Be my baby now I wish I had been born in the 60's and meet these truly talented & beautiful ladies.. Their Vocals & Performances is Sheer Class unlike today’s trash selling the bodies to promote themselves!!
  • All I see is the joy

  • This is real show without any sexual innuendos. So awesome and magnificent. I was born too late to meet these Girls grrr!

  • Yeah she was a "good friend" of keith richards according to his bio

  • Sometimes I wish I was here in the 60's

  • i still think their lead singer is top 5 hottest girls i have ever ever seen. just beautiful.

  • Except they are the Rihannas and Beyonces and Aguileras of their day. Except they do have sex appeal, but of course tolerance levels have changed. Except this music is simple and poppy. Nothing has changed musically from the 20th to 21st century. You have simplistic love songs. You have 'deep'er music. And also, just because someone doesn't like something doesn't mean they're dumbasses. It's time to grow up.

  • I respect them but i prefer the Dollyrots version lol

  • If I could have a second life, it would be as back up singer for Ronnie Spector--that would be TRUE PARADISE. Just to to be able to stand there and look at her sing and move.

  • It would be cool if Wonder Girls got inspiration from this.

  • @berriesss Lady Gaga and Rihanna are not art. They are blatantly selling sex. They are products.

  • 129 justin bieber fans disliked this sonng so all i can say is GO FUCK OFF AND BUY DIPERS OR NAPPIES :)

  • Amy winehouse looks up too them.

  • Beautiful & Stunning!

  • Cher sang back up Vocals on this song.

  • I cant for the live of me see what race they are?

  • @legolas35653 Black, Cherokee and White.

  • Oh my god this video is so amazing

It gave me a boner and it doesnt even show any skin! Not even all the stupid rap videos with naked women can do that!

Natural beauty and talent at its best!

  • I cant believe there r people who don't like this video

  • @IkeeBee1 probably Bieber fans -_- kids these days don't recognize good music... such a shame...

  • are some of them asian?

  • @Guillen286 two are black and irish, and one is black and puerto rican i think.

  • why, THAT feels like a Wall of Sound! YES!!

  • anyone else see the dancers?

  • Just Look at them!

They have clothes on & are

    As Hot As Hell!!

  • kissed my first girl in jr. high 2 this tune

  • @guido1365 That is actually pretty awesome! I think my first kiss was to NWA lol? Songs like this were made for that first kiss!

  • @guido1365 man, U R older than me...

  • man, music REALLY sucks these days.

  • 2:23 haha brilliant

  • I grew up with this music and thank god for you tube so I can watch it over and over.

  • Absolutely brilliant!!

  • FRIGGIN CLASSIC right hurr! :)

  • Thumbs up if you are listening this in 2011

  • I like the Oldies....and I used to be a Metal Head, but I got older and slowed down and atleast it doesn't make me want to stab the radio with a fuckin' screw driver like todays music does.

  • @townkevin59 i'm a metal head too, and not so long time ago i discovered this kind of music and i liked it too :)

todays music sucks like a donkey's ass.

it's all about popularity, not for the music it self.

    I'm 23 and i love the 70's and the 80's

  • what year´s this video ?

  • Plus j'écoute Ronnie, Estelle et Nedra, plus j'aime...La classe, le talent et la beauté....En fait tout ce qui manque à Lady Gaga...

  • Honestly, I dont usually listen to this sort of stuff, but this is real music.

  • Moc pěkné.

  • To be driving one of those old muscle cars and turn on the radio to tunes like this would be like heaven. If anything from the previous generation that I am envious of, well, this is it.

  • What a great classic. One of my very favorites. Love the Ronettes. Thanks for the post.

  • "Sherman, set the way-back machine to 1963, the modern day sucks."

  • Yep..This is Ronnie Spectors' group. Awesome!

  • Is Ronnie Spector in this???? The lead singer sounds a lot like her!

  • ...girls even....

  • I just love those girsl at the back dancing...

  • Notice how the black kids were sitting in the back? Segregation at it's finest.

  • LOVE THEM, THE BEST!

  • scheiße, dass heute so schöne musik nicht mehr gemacht wird

  • The dumbasses who disliked this were just confused since they didn't know television, music, or humans existed prior to 1990.

  • @cvg1099 i was born in 1991, and I'm a musician... The Ronettes are a huge influence on me.

  • Watta fkn hell is going bad to thhose 127 ??????

  • @SECTTOR I'm serious!

  • This is Brian Wilson's favorite ever record. He says of this in Q Magazine's 1001 Best songs Ever: "This is a special one for me. What a great sound, the Wall of Sound. Boy, first heard this on the car radio and I had to pull off the road, I couldn't believe it. The choruses blew me away; the strings are the melody of love. It has the promise to make the world better."

  • THE greatest song ever recorded.......

  • Best pop song of all time.

  • I'm getting obsessed with this song !!!

  • M3GA <3

  • has anyone heard a cover of this? It's by a band called Here Kitty Kitty, but I haven't been able to find anything on them. Like they've just vanished.

  • if u hate them why did u bring them to u??

  • When I first came to Thailand they were palying this in the bars and other Mo Town classics. Now I live here

  • lamest shit i ever took
