  • I was at Mark and Marion's for dinner one evening and actually had to persuade him not to show the genitalia of the young girl in the painting, he remarked that the police and authorities must be totally repressed if bothered by nudity and that the problem is one of their own invention.

At this point the door was smashed in and the police beat him to within an inch of his life using only donuts, fossils and vintage ice cream bikes.

  • the words on the piece of meat are actually cyrilic letters; it could be either russian or ucranian or any other slavic language. Ryden uses a lot of salvic words in his paintings... i've figured out one in another painting: love.

  • pretty cool and insightful interpretation! i have always wondered about Ryden's obsession with young girls. does he paint them to provoke or shock or does he paint them because he likes them (pedophilia) ??!!

  • @MultiJuliet69 i think he's into it a little bit, unless its just a statement with no real thoughts of pedophilia at all and he's tackling a taboo subject for his own reasons, just my thoughts

  • @luzzerylavender also this painting was based around Manet's luncheon on the grass

  • @MultiJuliet69 the whole theme to the show that this show that snow white was about was innocence being lost and going back to the times when we were kids and didnt think about much in regards to processing we just did it.

as for young girls they are more so those dolls he has around they are actually adults. nothing to do with kids nowdays meat show again was about the return to innocence as well as about what meat is about read the theame about it on the website. the artist statment

  • @MultiJuliet69 they might be ladies i think that is just his style of drawing they look like girls but i don't think he was trying to make them look like girls to me he was just trying to make them look cute and innocent to contrast with the other dark elements he uses in his work

  • this painting inspired me to hang pics of meat in my house.

  • @crackrockcandy haha, i can't top that sentence *wips tears*
