  • dude this is awesome. ive spent the past 2 days fucking around with this trying to get it to work. your video showed me how its done in a few minutes. you are a legend.

  • im using cakewalk and session drummer 2,any tips?

  • @gianniswildchild, don't know anything about them so no, sorry.

  • @gianniswildchild If Session Drummer is a VST just like EZ, u can just copy the midi from guitarpro into the track. I cant be any more spesific, since i dont use cakewalk. :)

  • ok i followed all the instructions but every time i drag my midi file into acid it instantly crashes the program. can anyone help me?! Note: i bought each program, not torrent versions, so they should work without any hitches in theory.

  • thanks so much! Never thought it'd be so easy! I use Toontrack solo, for what I want to do, it's good enough (:

  • good work man!

im using the same gear except line 6 gear for guitar/bass

so your just mapping the drums through guitar pro then correct? then rendering the file to sony acid/ez drummer..arm and record as a track? then lay in guitar as another track ? newb to this new gear

  • @SolitaryProductionz, yup!

Map the drums with Guitar Pro, insert into ACID/any program that can do MIDI/VST, record guitars on other tracks + bass and stuff like that.

  • @EnsiGeetard

cool thanx man..prob have a ton of questions later if you dont mind bro- request sent btw-

    thanx again

  • @EnsiGeetard

you ever use reaper? you can record and map all right there in one program-

cant you do this with the midi keyboard in sony acid as well? starting to figure it out- also, once i set my ezx preset like yours(cause i dig it!) how do i save it that way perma? just save the track i'm working on? will it auto save the mixer presets if i do so?

  • @SolitaryProductionz, yes! A while back I changed to Reaper. Holy shit that program is amazing! I do all of my mapping and mixing there.

What do you mean with a MIDI keyboard? You could play the drums with the MIDI keyboard and record with it. But i'd much rather just map it to a MIDI file. Hmmm.. I don't know. It'll probably get saved if you save the project file, it should. I don't us EZDrummer much now, I've changed to Addictive Drums. Lots more options/separate track EQ and all that :)

  • heey man , I fucking love it, its very usefull ... hey man can you give me the mix wich you used for make one battery pist a little more Professional??? thnk you , sorry my english.. regards from Chile

  • @joriffo, not entirely sure what you mean??

  • @EnsiGeetard , no no, i saw it the mixer presets in the 2:26 mins .... its what I needed... thank you again

  • THANK YOU :)

  • Is it posible to do the same for, lets say the violin in a guitar pro tab?

I've tried, can't get it to work...

  • @BerryPitje I've found it... yes it's posible !

  • THAAAAAAAAANKS SO FUCKING MUCH MEN YOU NOW WATH YOU DO !!! EXCELENT TUTORIAL !!!! LIKE A MASTER

  • PTH, def one of my favorite bands of all time.

Awesome vid man, thanks for the help. I really needed to find a new sound preset, my drums sounded like garbage.

  • 5 hours of research and finally found what I need right here !!!

    thanks man... fucking love ya!!!!

  • @viruspt, glad I could be of help!

  • how do i change all the 40 to 38, this seems tedious

  • @xxPSYCHOSLUTxx, go to the MIDIFileMapper folder and edit the GM to AD map.

  • @EnsiGeetard kinda new @ this, where can i find this folder to edit?

  • @xxPSYCHOSLUTxx, woah wait wait I totally.. spaced out while typing that, why the fuck did I even type that, jesus.

Well basically there is a program called MIDI File Mapper. You can run a MIDI file through there and it maps like... if you want all 38 to be 40 or visa versa and it plops out a finished MIDI.

It has maps, like in the installation folder, where you can edit the maps and use them.

  • @EnsiGeetard thanks dood, i figured that out after about a 30 min search thru my prgrams(86)....then later found it an app hahaha, thanks i got it now, and sum gm to ad coversions r iffy, but theyve got an option for gm to EZdrummer set for ya, but thanks agian for clearin this up

  • @EnsiGeetard aw thank you dude! I'm really looking forward to this :D thanks again :P

  • Hey man, I was wondering if this same idea would work with just a simple EZdrummer kit? also, how can I get sony acid and is it free? Cause I can't afford much at the moment :P

  • @KoRnescence93, hey dude, yes it is exactly the same method for regular EZDrummer, DKFH is just a sound-addon. You can get a trial version of ACID at sonycreativesoftware dawt com. In other DAW's i'd recommend trying Reaper, it's what I use now.

  • Great video. Txs

  • did you record guitar?

  • I'm trying random songs and for some reason ez drummer isn't hitting the SNARE hard enough or something??

  • @deathmetalben, maybe you're using snare 40, or your velocity is way too low.

  • @EnsiGeetard yup figured that out last night, thanks anyways.

  • Du e awesome daniel! :D

  • @ategra90, no u man :D

  • hey can you use the drumkit from hell on a digital recorder like a Fostex vf160 EX ?

  • @savant416, to be honest? No idea man, sorry :(

  • @EnsiGeetard I have so many tabs on gUitar Pro 5. Even with RSE, they sound very electronic. The drums are the worst. How to make them sound like real instruments?

  • @papan1990, no idea man. The RSE engine sucks so much, I know.

You can try Guitar Pro 6, maybe the engine there sounds better!

  • When you have imported the Guitar Pro Midi file into Acid, can you change the drums?

In Cubase, if you double click on the track a window with a piano will appear with all the notes recorded. In that window you can move around, add and delete the notes recorded. Is there any similar in acid with this thing?

  • @oggerocker, of course! ACID is a famous DAW, why wouldn't it haha?

Just go to the midi track, and press G, simple as that.

  • Dear Ensigeetard: Thank you so very much for sharing this great knowledge, it really explained a lot to me and went beyond answering my questions. I use Pro Tools LE 7 with an Mbox mini but I'm sure it's fairly similar to Sony Acid. I just started using guitar pro 5.2 for tabbing guitar and noticed that it had midi drum mapping and remembered that EZDrummer does as well, and I put two and two together, googled it, and found your video at the top of my results. Again, thank you very much!

  • @GahnJoe, no problem man! Really glad it helped!

As long as your DAW supports MIDI and VST, it's gonna work! :)

  • Aw man, the reason I came here is to learn to make drums beats in guitar pro really, is there a video for that? I mean, I know you input numbers corresponding to the note, but I dont get the timing stuff mainly, when I want sixteenth notes just for 2 kicks, it makes like all the notes i do after clicking on the sixteenth note icon, sixteenth notes, anyone know a video for this? Im so sad :(

  • @ArtificialFlavaFTB2, select another note value after inputting the 16th notes? (Protip: Use the + and - key on your numpad)

  • @EnsiGeetard Oh.. duh... Thanks xD

  • I will PAY anyone to show me how to make my OWN drums, NOT THE SHITTY PRESET STUFF. I bought a line6 UX1, and it came with Ableton Live Lite 7, and for the LIFE of me i cannot figure out how to make my OWN drums in that DAW. I also have Sony Acid Pro 7, and i cannot figure out how to at LEAST modify preset drum grooves. AT LEAST i want to be able to modify a groove, but what i really want, is to make a totally unique drum beat from scratch PLZ HELPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This has to be most helpful thing i have EVER seen. and great music! thankssss

  • will this work if i just import the midi file exported by gtr pro to the ezdrummer cubase plugin? i mean i won;t to record a song that is already written in gtr pro with drums and stuff and i just want to take the drums to save some time...

  • @Mitraeltheprophet,I don't get what you're saying dude!

Yeah you can import a midi file to any DAW that supports VST, have it connected with EZDrummer and play.

  • What are your presets?

  • thanks 4 the tutorial. you are the best

  • haha drumkit from hell. ;p nice thanks ^^

  • So if I hold Shit+T it'll insert a time signature change?

  • @EvisceratorBand, well not if you hold SHIT but eh ... haha

But yes, hold the SHIFT key and press T and you'll add a time signature :)

  • great you put on protest the hero and i didnt even pay attention to the video! haha

  • Thanks!

  • wtf nice ez drums douwload link plz :) plz crack PLZ

  • Your mixer setup for EZdrummer is amazing.

  • Amazing do you think it will work in protools?

  • @sonico73, I don't know much about protools, but if it has support for VST plugins, then yes :)

  • Do you have to manually change the snare/bass drums in Guitar Pro before you make the midi file? cause if not, the snare and bass sounds like shit.

  • @Dimeist, pretty much :\

  • is adobe audition midi compatible

  • @BornToConquerBand, maybe, I don't know Adobe software that good :)

  • can i run a file with the basic ez drumkit? or do i need the dfh installed?

  • @wolfman109h, yeah man, of course :)

  • hey it's protest the hero

  • i want to program my own beat but i dont use sony acid..

  • @Jed9133, you can use any DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) that supports MIDI and VST plugins. :)

  • Vid helped me really really much! Thank u!! :D But, how can i make the cymbals sound better..the hihat should be mroe open..and all cymbals shoud be louder exept the hats, can you help me?

  • @ImperialstarTama, thanks and no problem! :)

Hmm.. I don't use DKFH now, just because of that. It isn't that customizable.

You can turn up the overhead mic, and about the sounds, I don't really know. It just is like that :(

  • @EnsiGeetard and whats about saving? I wnat to save it as the drumtrack from DKFH, so it should sound like that :D because i need the drumtrack for my band :D

  • @ImperialstarTama found out! :D

  • woah, sequoia throne without his annoying voice! where did you find that?

  • @skiddlecrumms, haha I don't remember :(

  • when I play it with EZdrummer, it plays it slower.

    I got the pop/rock drumkit.

If I get the drumkit from hell, will it sound normal?

  • @FirstStepToGlory, are you sure you have the BPM set right?

And no that won't help. DKFH is just an addon, it only changes the sound.

  • @EnsiGeetard I'm new to the EZdrummer wolrd, hahaha

how do I change the BMP?

  • @FirstStepToGlory, watch at 2:39 in the vid :)

  • @EnsiGeetard hahaha ohh stupid me! xD

    thanks a lot!(:

  • This was EXACTLY what I was looking for! thank you so much!

  • dude, can you post a video on how to get ezdrummer? cause I really want the addons

  • hey man, where can I get ezdrummer from? I've been lookin for it for quite a while.

  • Awesome. this is just the type of video i needed to show to my audio engineer to help my band take our gp5 tabs for us to use as the drum tracks. Do you happen to know where in bfd2 to import .gp5 midis?

  • Good that it helps!

No sorry, I do not know as I am not familiar with the software.

  • When i transpose a midi pre-made track from DFH onto the audio track,

it plays as piano rather than drums,

any idea's why its doing this.

    cheers mate.

  • Hey! Yeah it's because you haven't assigned the MIDI track to EZDrummer.

Check the description, i've added a FAQ setting.

    Cheers!

  • well im using Cubase SX3 any idea's on this,

    or is it the same,

should i assign it to a MIDI Track on Cubase too?

  • Oh, well, I don't know ALL about these things. But i'm certain that your midi track is on the wrong setting. It's probably on the default MIDI preset (that makes it piano), so you'll have to find a way to set it to DFH Sampler.

  • yo man i did this and when i inseted a midi drum track from Guitar pro the DFH stopped making sounds idk what happend, i tried everything and it doesnt make any sound anymore.. cna you help me out?

  • I really don't know.

Make sure you have the midi track assigned to Drumkit From Hell. This is done in the track options, where you see your volume slider and such. Look around and try.

  • i got the sound to work but it doesnt have fast double bass parts? maybe its because i didnt assign it to DFH i dont know where to find the track options..ill keep looking

  • Howd you get the instrumental?! Protest is sick.

  • I dunno haha, I just have it. It's on youtube as well. And yeah, Protest is damn awesome.

  • Muy util.muchas gracias.

    LOL

  • o well

  • This just helped me so much.

  • Instead of sony acid is it possible to use sony vegas

  • Sorry for late reply. No, sadly it isn't :(

    Not that I know of.

  • Er EZDrummer inne på Sony ACID? :o

    Have to know

  • Det er 2 helt forskjellige ting.

    EZDrummer er en plugin.

Og du bruker Sony ACID til å legge inn den pluginen.

  • Great tutorial!!! thanks alot :D

  • You're awesome. :) But PLEASE would you include the songs used in the background in the video description? Or share it with us in a comment? I've never listened to those specific instrumentals before and they're mind-blowing... MUST DOWNLOAD. MUST KNOW. :)

  • Hey thanks! :D

The instrumental tracks are by Protest The Hero.

Songs are called: "Seqouia Throne" and "Limb from Limb"

    :D

  • Thanks mate. Those are some kickass songs. The video was not only very instructional but also fun to watch. Great job ;)

  • Yes, they are indeed epic. The regular non instrumental songs are great as well.

Thanks man! That means I achieved what I intended with this video. :)

  • Hey man using Guitar pro there is only 2 crash sounds right? is there a way to make the tab in GP but using the other cymbals in DFH??

  • Yup, but you'd have to learn the mapping of DKFH to do that. Google it, i'm sure you'll find it. :)

  • yeah,brutal tutorial man

    tks for this!!

  • Thanks man. Major help.

  • FUCKIN AWESOME SHIT DUDE!

  • Hehe,

    COBOT final

  • Thx for video, it really helped me!

And I have one question, is it possible to export bass guitar track with RSE, from Guitar Pro to MP3/WAVE or etc. ??? :)

  • Yeah man, just open your windows sound settings. Go to input recording, and select "Stereo Mix" or anything with "Master" in it.

Then open up recording program, then start recording, then play only the bass track!

And i'm glad you found this video to help! :)

  • Thanks! :)

  • Hi. The sounds in the video are yours?

What did you used to record them?

  • The music in this video is not me, it's Protest The Hero :D

  • great video ensi, thx :D

  • if you use reaper there aren't any limits on the tempo

  • You can edit the tempo limits by going into Options -> Preferences -> Editing and set it to minimum 40 BPM and maximum 300 bpm :D

  • Would this work with music studio 7?

  • If it supports VST plugins, then yes, I believe so :)

  • As always awesome dude xDDD
